Just subscribed after looking for gundog training videos 😊 I have an 18 week old Gordon Setter x GWP (3/4 Gordon, 1/4 GWP) puppy. Her parents are just pets, but grandparents and beyond are/were working gundogs. I'd like to do gundog training with her so that I know how to manage a dog from strong working lines 😊

You hit the nail on the head there. “The right dog, with the right training”
I’ve found after actually putting a lot of work into my last 2 pups and looking into their genetics, one being bred for hunting and retriever trials. The other bred for the show ring… one is a dream to work with and only needs minor correction for coming out of heel and breaking position. But delivery very naturally, holds the bumper without mouthing, like she’s a veteran.

Thank you. Your training videos are great. I’m just teaching my 14 week cocker spaniel fetch/ drop. I’m using treats as a reward just now. He’s dropping the ball before he comes to me in anticipation of the treat. Any tips please?

I like your videos, your enthusiasm. I suspect, though, that your dogs are crated or kennelled for part of their day and brought out for training and exercise. This makes them switch on and your only interaction with them is at this point. I’m not criticising but it is very different to having a free range puppy who is fascinated by digging the edge of your carpet, chewing the logs in the log basket, furniture etc.

Hi. How to stop a 10 month cocker spaniel lunging at passing dogs. Very playful but very excitable.
