Hi Mitch, oil level check is always done without screwing the dipstick in, just inserting it until it stops agaist the threads, all motorcycle manuals indicate the same procedure.

11 fasteners for an oil change…is a lot of fasteners for an oil change. People who aren’t doing this themselves should make sure their mechanics are actually changing that oil filter.
@@N4sir98 It was supposed to wet the paper inside the filter. When the engine starts, the engine runs without oil until the paper in the filter gets wet and filters the oil. (filter running-in)
argesus - There are literally millions of cars, trucks, motorcycles, scooters, lawn tractors, lawn mowers, generators, small engine machines, and other various engine equipped machines that are designed with inverted oil filters and none require pre-filling an oil filter after replacement .Engines with inverted oil filters are designed knowing a dry filter will be installed after an oil change. Although pre-filling can be easily and effectively achieved with an engine that has a filter positioned uprightt, pre-filling an inverted filter is never suggested by any manufacturer as any attempt to do so wouldn't retain enough oil to make a difference. Again, engines with inverted oil filters are designed knowing a dry filter will be installed after an oil change. The important thing is that an engine with a newly-replaced inverted oil filter should NEVER be allowed to run any higher than idle until the oil has been allowed sufficient time to flow through the filter. Allowing the machine to idle for 60 seconds will easily and safely accomplish this. Mitch demonstrated the correct procedures for an oil/oil filter change service on this scooter.

You didn't oil the filter again before installing it. Good luck..
He clearly applied a thin coat of oil on the filter seal. (7 min 30 secs)
