Thank you so much ! My professors are so lazy they be telling us to just print it out if "filling in the blank online doesn't work for you" The shade !!
Yea I would like to know that too. I have a huge document with hundreds of fields and this sounds like it will be time consuming doing it this way. Any better way to do this quicker in bulk?
this video saved a new adobe user alot of googling to find an answer thank you i just wish i would have known this sooner because...I'm making a calendar ...lol weeeeeeelllll better start changing the names on 1000+ different boxes
Wow! I’m working on my first fillable form. This video will help me not to make this mistake. 😅This would be frustrating if you’re trying to stop duplicates thank you
Thank you so much! I had added a copy of a page to add additional information, and it kept changing everything on the original page, was losing my mind!
This is amazing thank you so much, I deleted an entire document I made and started from scratch, but was terrified that I was having the same issue. Thank you so much
WOWWW!!! You are the best- I do have some more questions and could use your help with my Osha 300 fillable book that is filled with duplicating text in my book and makes it hard to start fill out a new form. Probably easier if I share my PDF doc and let you play around with it.
Great video, thank you! I'm trying to duplicate pages for a planner (1 page per day). Is there a way, when duplicating the page, to make it name each field differently so I don't have to go through 365 page and change the names of every single box? Not only is it painful, it's a complete waste of time. Surely there's a tick box somewhere I could click to change the field name?
Great video! Is there anyway to this on a mass scale. For example if you have a table with 100 rows do you have to change the names of 100 rows or is there another way?
I haven't found a better way, but if I had 100 fields, I would just make it easy and use numbers to make them different instead of typing out full names
There is a way to copy and paste without having to rename the fields! Select all the fields you want, right click, and select "Create multiple copies". They will have new names!
Best comment ever!!! Just to add onto it, if you have multiple pages for example calendar blocks you want to be able to edit. You can create the multiple copies as you said for all the blocks, then select all the 'new' ones, cut them and paste them to the new page. They should all then still be selected, so you just drag them into place. I found that at some stage it doesn't want to create more because the names get too long. So then you just rename a batch with a different naming structure I just used "a" "b" "c" etc. and then continue again. Thanks for this comment! I would've bought you a bells...
Love your videos, thanks. Is there a way to make a combo box value to depend on the selection of another combo box in DC PRO? I didn't see anything like that in any of the videos.
What do you do if you have duplicated pages and pages of text boxes? Is there a way to auto name each box with sequential numbers? To rename all the boxes I've duplicated will take a while.. is there a way to do it more efficiently when you are working with dozens of text boxes?
Coincidentally the unintentional problem you are trying to fix Is the exact problem I'm trying to solve. I work at a small used car lot and I've turned our paperwork into fillable PDF files. Now I'm trying to figure out how to duplicate the same information like constantly putting in the VIN number of a vehicle on multiple pdf documents. I'm assuming the first step would be to merge all the separate documents into one file. And then duplicate the field so I only have to enter the information once?
I am actually trying to do what you are un-doing here! I am trying to create a duplicate field so that I can autofill from a chart and have those fields (in the chart) populate on individual certificates!
I have 900 text fields that are the same.. do I need to add a numebr to change all 900 hundred fields!!!! is there a way the text field can auto create unique identifiers?
Hello! Great videos! I have another duplicating problem, I'm trying to make an address book type of form, but my typing appears on different pages, could you please give me a little bit of direction from this?
You'll need to make sure that after you duplicate you change the name of the duplicated field. Otherwise it will think it's the same when you start typing
TY for this, I do a lot of form field tables in Acrobat where I dupe rows in a table and I would get the same prob as you. So, the questions is (although I know the answer is because Adobe doesn't care about professionals & productivity, only wowing the public with AI features) why doesn't the program (like every other program on the planet) just automatically assign copy 1, copy 2, etc. to the end of the name!!!!!! This way, I have no manually change like 100 boxes, well played Adobe!
@@EssetinoMedia So, I was on the phone with Adobe support and there is a feature, it's just hidden. If you create one form field box and right-click on it, there is a feature called duplicate across the page and you can dup the form field up and across as many times as you like. Why this is hidden, I don't know, but it solved my problem with for field tables.
I use PDF Escape to add fillable forms to my PDF docs. But Adobe DC pops up when I open PDFs on my computer, and it's doing the same thing; repeating entered text onto different pages. It looks like you can't use the free Adobe version to change the names of the text fields. Does anyone have any insights to share on fixing this? I don't need Adobe for PDF editing because I'm already using another tool, yet feeling forced to buy the subscription because of the duplicating text issue.
im still having issues with acrobat i dont have pro but i need it to submit my social work major application and it keeps duplicating and the deadline is on the 15th and i couldnt be more stressed out IS THERE ANY WAY TO FIX THIS WITHOUT BUYING ACROBAT PRO FOR ONE FORM ?
Hi, my Adobe is automatically creating the text boxes just fine. I am wondering though whether there is any way to change to font and font size of all text boxes at once? The auto detected text boxes are rather mixed and different font sizes. Is there a fast way or do I need to change it one by one? Thanks, Anne
Please Help - I actually WANT this on a form, to have say the Patient Name duplicated automatically on other pages. It works fine, except when I save, close the pdf (as a recipient), then open it again - only the Original field is saved, not any of the clones. Any idea what I can do? Thank you so much.
How do you avoid this happening with duplicate fields so that it will add different names on its own instead of having to rename multiple fields? I want to add check mark boxes to multiple letters that will need different boxes checked according to each letter.
I have similar problem but I've copied pages (duplicated) to have for example 10 same pages, but now forms are all the same on all pages:/ isn't there a way to copy pages and automatically make the fields unique? damn! :/
I have made forms with differently-named fields with Acrobat Pro 9, and on SOME devices SOME of the fields act as if they are linked (spillage). Again, no repeated field names. It happens on Mac, iPad, Android, and Windows machines, in browsers, Acrobat Reader, and Foxit. For instance, two Win10 laptops users can be looking at the same form in the same app, and one will have spillage and the other won't. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks for the video. That said, this just reconfirms that Adobe DC is literally the biggest pile of shit I've ever used, it's actually 10x worse than Microsoft products which I previously thought to be the most awfully-designed software of all time. Just trying to copy and duplicate a basic element in a PDF is essentially impossible, taking upwards of half an hour while it can be done in Visio in about 30 seconds. I can't believe Adobe actually charges people to use this crap, they should be paying you as a beta tester to have to endure this awful form of torture. God forbid if you zoom in too much and the program slows to a crawl even on an 8-core PC with 16GB of memory... and then it either crashes, or you wait 30 seconds to a minute just for it to finally respond to scrolling half a line. it's amazing that Adobe is just as slow as it was in 2002 in the year 2022.... Despite the fact that computers are about 1000x faster now, Adobe is still just as slow as it ever has been.... thanks to 20 years of negative progress.
so many absolutely asinine functions in acrobat! it's WAY too mature a tool to still be doing backward things like this! why wouldn't the copy and paste action automatically generate a suffix like copy, copy1, copy2, etc... like illustrator, photoshop and aftereffects do?
