A little rant: I’ve technically begged my parents for a flip phone but all they do is laugh at me and (since pretty much everyone i know uses WhasApp) say that im dumb for choosing the “hard & expensive way for communication” Communication my ass lol everyone’s glued to their screens 24/7 and let me tell you that I’ve already got rid of social media apps (which made me extra lonely) but nothing helps since my parents control every aspect of my life so im stuck in the house, im 16 and already feel really unproductive and useless… sorry ik that was uncalled for but GOSH is jt frustrating, anws thankyou so much for your video and I’ll make sure to support your channel ! ^-^

I have watched several videos over the past week or so about switching to a flip phone, and I’m officially swapping out my iPhone for a flip phone. I’ve only ever had iPhones, never had a flip phone. Switching my iPhone for flip phone seems quite scary, but I feel that this is something I really need to do. I’m on my phone all day every day and that’s not okay. Hoping this will make me happier.
Been living effectively like this for few years now. I started making privacy Android phones for myself and family members using first LineageOS-microG and now GrapheneOS. On my own phone I kept its Tjng service on the $10 a month plan which is just voice and unlimited SMS texting - no data plan. It still has WiFi, of course, so can do WiFi calling, but when out and about I don’t go reaching for my phone. When having lunch or dinner, my attention is with the other participants - not constantly looking at the phone. (Have one home that can’t get Cell service, only fiber-optic Internet, so WiFi calling is a crucial capability in order to have phone service there. Hence a flip phone wouldn’t work out.)
I'm sorry about the lost friendships, i know a thing or two about that myself. Keep doing what's best for you though, respect that you're only 15 and you're already making wise decisions :)

You are amazing ❤ I felt the same very first 2-3 day I was wandering what to do 😢 but then just realised is the right way to get rid of my smart and then continue using my blackberry ❤❤❤❤❤started beefing more productive and present ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have a small comment: If you are in college/education that require constant communication, this isn't going to work well. You need social media for chat groups, to reach friends, to networking easily,... You also need a phone to have notification: If a class is delayed, or room-change,... It sucks that in 2024 everybody assume you had a phone, and the infrastructure is build around that!
I totally agree, and have found myself having to go back to my smartphone for this exact reason and having to use digital minimalism strategies to dumb down my phone as much as possible, maybe i'll make an updated video of how to turn a smartphone into a dumbphone :)

i really recommend reading and journaling. Especially fantasy because you can 'submerge' into other worlds. Especially twilight... its so good.

im 15 and i use a motorla razr v3 and a ipod tbh ive lost a few freindships through this witch is sad but i feel alot better on my day to day
