Yea no disrespect of any of the others but I would extend that further back than "this year"... In my humble opinion Jared comes across as both the most down to earth relatable as well as one of the most knowledgeable ones when it comes to "hands on how things work" and even more interestingly how they "can be worked". Watching one his videos never fails to örighten my day, it feels like You've had a good chat with one of Your really good friends. :)
A fresh set of eyes will help too . I can't count how many times it helped me or I have helped someone else see something you are just missing because of frustration
Jared "Let's slip it in the hole, see how big of a struggle it is to get in there and how much wiggling we gotta do" Me: Don't say it....DON'T SAY IT... THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!!! :')
Hey man I'm not the person to go out of my way and type a comment and especially one like this but you are one of the very few people on RUclips that is true to your work and authentic. I really like the fact that you and tavarish work together to. Once again man you're my favorite RUclipsr and I would love if you could like this comment
Jared! Pyrrha! Love the episode. You are so right about walking away. I can't count the number of projects I've ruined because I get so frustrated I just start banging on them like an angry chimp. I love what's happening with the truck and can't wait to hear it turn over for the first time and see its first burnout! Thanks for the great video, everyone's efforts are greatly appreciated! All the best. Cheers!
I got to say, it’s really impressive that Jared alone could do all the work, whereas the other shop would take around the same day Jared took and build it with team, he’s doing it all by himself. I am really staggered
What no one, except Jared tells you is, theres no such thing as a cheap OR easy LS swap! It still amazes me to this day hearing people spout off this BS that all you need is an afternoon at the junkyard and you're good to go. Great video Jared, fun project, keep these coming man.
1st time viewer and just gotta say you show is done very well, with cool little camera tricks and very clean audio with detailed and useful info someone like myself who loves cars and would like to eventually make my own retrofit with a good background in electronics and wiring and a basic understanding of fabrication and welding
Love this build Jared! Always packed with exciting content. And as a fellow spaghetti master, thanks for taking the time to clean up the wiring. Glad it wasn't overlooked.
would love to see a video on how you build the wiring harness for this LS? i think people who are curious about these LS swaps (which i think there is lots of!) would also appreciate that
There is a Dorman reproduction LS2 intake that flows like the trailblazer ss intake but the size of a car intake for clearance. The truck manifolds are cast steel so you can flip them up and forward and mount two swirly boys on them. Love the direction this build is heading.
This has quickly become my favourite automotive tech channel. Ok well maybe after Binky. Jared is a great tech/presenter/cameradude and the editing is snappy and funny. Also there's several adorable dogs.
I worked at a Vette shop for a few years in college. And one of the easy upgrades for the cast engines is swapping the ls6 heads on.(243) Definitely worth the time to swap the heads away from the 317 heads.
Thank you yet again Jared, I look forward to each of your videos. I may never build any of the motors you do, but I feel like I could get seriously close to building one watching you though.
Hi Jarrad Two things one I am so glad and I bet you are is that you are good at wiring With regard to the headers how about the pipes going over the chassis rails And on the outside not inside Cheers 👍👍😍😍 And the advice is the best advice ever and i even do it at work just walk away go do something else for a bit and then come back to it and usually the problem will solve it self
Possibly run the manifolds over the frame like a gasser or go to the extreme and cut the frame in front and behind the cab mounts and move the cab mounts to the inside of the cut section along with. Boxing the existing frame for strength. It would give you the clearance for the long tubes but it would be more work than youre probably wanting to do.
Somehow my corrupt mind saw the classic Rolls and thought about what it would be like with an LS twin turbos swap or a Cummins 1000ft-lb+ Diesel-turbo swap .... I’m to see if you make a fuse box and relay box with electrical schematics for and projects that get sold so any mechanic can easily troubleshoot shoot issues compared to other restomods requiring tons of time going through and tracing back each wire. It would be cool to see some car mods using a $400 rapid prototyper to creat electrical boxes to help locate all fuses and relays if old boxes cannot be modified or used. Thank you for the show and with you well
Congrats Jared! The '71 international looks amazing!! I hope you can change the firewall and drop that truck manifold in!! Would look so much cooler! As troublesome as it would be...
Holley Hooker headers would fix the exhaust issues you are having! We use them here in the UK to squeeze an ls into Land Rover Defenders. The hug the block a lot better than the stock ones.
Take the truck manifold, flip them sides pointing to the front. Many guys do this for cheap turbo manifolds. Would solve your issue and allow for a turbo.
This video just like all your videos are very informative. I love how you explain to those who dont know to much about the Ls the know how and what is what. Great video can't wait to see the truck running brother.
CUT THE FIREWALL! Give yourself the room you need to get everything put in that YOU want - not what the space is limiting you to. Also, could you notch the frame to give yourself a bit more room for your headers? Cut, then reinforce. Don't you always say to make questionable choses? You do a great job! Love to see you work - I can watch you work all day!
It’s true, swapping an engine is no walk in the park. I always find it funny when someone says “just LS swap it, it’s cheap and easy.” Usually it’s people who have never done one that say that.
I'm currently in the process of LS swapping a caprice wagon. If you don't care about having working AC and factory gauges its not a horrible job. It's definitely more expensive than people lead you to believe. I knew going in it'd be more expensive than I thought, but I still wasn't expecting to spend anywhere close to what I've got in it now.
That truck makes the engine look so small. You could do some massive turbos in that engine bay. Heck I bet you could supercharge with a blower and still close the hood with everything tucked inside. I’d really like to see the turbos mounted in the bed of the truck.
I don't know a whole lot about structural rigidity issues, but that frame looks like it has a whole lot of real estate to take from and still retain stiffness. Cut and box the clearance you need for the headers and call it a day.
So I have a shop. I have Miata, I have a gen 2 coyote. All the videos say 3-4 hours and a piece of cake. This is the best video on reality of swapping motors. Videos have dupped me into thinking I can do things way above my skill level when I just can't. Especially porn.
I'm looking at this and not doing it... but if I was , I'd make clearance all around that firewall area I think that will let you run what ever manifold you could think of then. The log manifold idea has a lot of merit if your planning to turbo this rig down the road. If turbos are the way your leaning then you don't need massive primary tubes coming out of the motor and that could help your clearance issues with the frame rails. I would look at Taylor Ray's video about modding the lifters and rockers if you really plan on leaning on this motor. Also if you have time check out the Skid Factory channel for some log manifold action from Turbo Yoda himself.
Hey Jared why not run the manifolds through the wheel wells like have them come sort of straight out then down and out the sides or if you want them to come out the back then you could just run them down the frame rails and that might actually fix your header problem but I do know I'm pretty late on this and you might have figured it out already but thought you might like that idea and could use it but great job man it's looking awesome stay safe man
After doing a few swaps honestly I would be considering moving the engine up and forward in the bay, I think in the end less work than firewall, header, inlet manifold issues
Easter Egg!!! A European classic from the 20th Century - Yugo ( Zastava Koral), seen at 5:41 :) Wonder if it will make its way into the Wrench Every Day series...
I have a suggestion/question, could you make the whole front a hood? Lights, fenders, and all? Think it be easier to get to the engine to work on it, while so far down.
Jared is the best thing that happened to the youtube automotive scene this year.
This guy is seriously dedicated to making sure the viewers learn from him and even his mistakes.
If only he would blink more often :D
Yea no disrespect of any of the others but I would extend that further back than "this year"...

@@greghercher2068 How long has he had a channel?
Jared 4 president!
How to make an ad better 101: Just add a cute dog like Pyrrha 🤣
that ad with the headphones on the dog was genius!
So awesome to be walked through this entire process! Really shows us how much work goes into this. Love the QOTD as well, so true.
A fresh set of eyes will help too . I can't count how many times it helped me or I have helped someone else see something you are just missing because of frustration
I’m so glad Jared took over this channel
Jared "Let's slip it in the hole, see how big of a struggle it is to get in there and how much wiggling we gotta do"
Me: Don't say it....DON'T SAY IT...
THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!!! :')
stuart cochrane exactlyyyy
Being a complete novice I can not understand half of this but I’m fascinated and glued to every episode - keep going Jared !!
Do something on the Yugo in the background please! They are always fun to see. They are like finding a unicorn you never want to see.
Hey man I'm not the person to go out of my way and type a comment and especially one like this but you are one of the very few people on RUclips that is true to your work and authentic. Jared with the FRESH haircut 🔥🔥🔥
"we now pronounce you engine, and transmission"
LMFAO
i love this build Jared! it's nice to see people building stuff with scrap yard parts, not ordering $3000 titanium stuff! excited to see more of this!
The wisdom to step away and come back obviously comes with experience! Keep at it man, this is a great series!
Absolutely blows mind the level of work Tavarish and you put in Jared. Whole new level.
🙌🤘
Mhmmmm, i mean, zoomies and a supercharger would look sick😂😂
lots of room for zoomies in that huge bay
Jared! Pyrrha! Love the episode. You are so right about walking away. I can't count the number of projects I've ruined because I get so frustrated I just start banging on them like an angry chimp. Nothing can stop Jared once he gets started. That is pure determination.

Jared, I think I've said this before but your such an awesome dude! I think it's great to be so knowledgeable yet so humble and open minded.
the dog cam is a nice addition! also i subbed today
Jared is constructing. A kick ass scout 👍 he’s making sure the truck doesn’t lag power
Jared is the most under rated mechanic on RUclips. Your work and video's is damn good i watch every video. He deserves a mill subs
Boyz...I think we have a LS swapped Yugo coming our way. Hang on.
it certainly fits jared's advice of making questionable choices...
I had a boosted vr6 swapped yugo. Death trap
1st time viewer and just gotta say you show is done very well, with cool little camera tricks and very clean audio with detailed and useful info someone like myself who loves cars and would like to eventually make my own retrofit with a good background in electronics and wiring and a basic understanding of fabrication and welding
Johnny Rev and Earl Leeker! WHAT!!! RUclips classics for sure
When he took the earphones the doggo was like “HEY! I was listening to that!” 😂
Got to love the 6.0 LS I am swapping a twin turbo one in my 1971 GS and one in my 1981 Ram. Bad ass engines
You are the hero that truck needs, sir.
Hang in there Jared, this truck will be worth it when you get done!! It's gonna be AweSome!
Love this build Jared! Always packed with exciting content. And as a fellow spaghetti master, thanks for taking the time to clean up the wiring. Glad it wasn't overlooked.
18:30 you got a James Pumphrey moment right there
Mo Powah Baby!!!
would love to see a video on how you build the wiring harness for this LS? i think people who are curious about these LS swaps (which i think there is lots of!) would also appreciate that
Wait who said it was easy? That truck is awesome btw
Clearance the firewall for the truck manifold + clearance the frame rails for the long tube headers= almost OEM!
There is a Dorman reproduction LS2 intake that flows like the trailblazer ss intake but the size of a car intake for clearance. The truck manifolds are cast steel so you can flip them up and forward and mount two swirly boys on them. Love the direction this build is heading.

Just make some “log” manifolds, MCM turbo yoda style
LOL I was just thinking this as I scrolled to the comments.
Tuuuuuurboooo YOOOOooOoOoOoOOooDDAAAAAAAA
fed up with your fancy manifolds, turbo yoda is....
For those that don't know, turbo yoda chanel is called The skid factory
tea pot black yeah it is and they build some awesome cars
I worked at a Vette shop for a few years in college. And one of the easy upgrades for the cast engines is swapping the ls6 heads on.(243) Definitely worth the time to swap the heads away from the 317 heads.
Also, Jared needs a badass mullet...I can see the turbos spoolin’ and hair flow in’ now!
Jarred looks like he went to the Latin barbershop
Jared is a mechanic genius!!!!!!!!
Dayyyumm!!! Jared’s looking sharp with that fresh haircut!
Thank you yet again Jared, I look forward to each of your videos. I may never build any of the motors you do, but I feel like I could get seriously close to building one watching you though.

This is my new favorite build on RUclips! Great project! Makes me wanna ls swap my third gen firebird.
The cute fluffy dog, enjoying the Kove headphones. Awesome!
Hey just out of curiosity you could try some headers intended for a trip five swap. They look to hug the engine a bit better.
Every Time good to See !!!
Enjoy your Work .
Bringing jared on fulltime was a great idea!
Congrats on being a uncle! Congrats to tavarish for being a daddy!!
We need more Pyrrha cam! Great video Jared, keep up the good work!
Congrats Jared! The '71 international looks amazing!! I hope you can change the firewall and drop that truck manifold in!! Would look so much cooler! As troublesome as it would be...
Nice Hair cut! Walking away for a bit always helps.
Just when am about to eat and there's a new upload, nice.
Your doing amazing things with this channel and project
8 individual straight exhaust pipes, canted to 45 degrees, exiting through the hood 70’s top fuel style!
Holley Hooker headers would fix the exhaust issues you are having! We use them here in the UK to squeeze an ls into Land Rover Defenders. The hug the block a lot better than the stock ones.
Love the Pyrrha cam!! Needs to be a regular feature!
Try some finderwell headers. Route them over the frame then back like they are going to side pipes.
Take the truck manifold, flip them sides pointing to the front. Many guys do this for cheap turbo manifolds. Would solve your issue and allow for a turbo.

You do a great job! Love to see you work - I can watch you work all day!
You are the man keep it up!!! Also make the room put the truck i take. Don't cut corners when you've done so much.
Yes , TURBOS!!!! Mounted in all that space above the engine.
It’s true, swapping an engine is no walk in the park. I always find it funny when someone says “just LS swap it, it’s cheap and easy.” Usually it’s people who have never done one that say that.

No one:
Jared: Ol' pan
Two jarod's don't break the internet😂😂😂😂😂😂
After doing a few swaps honestly I would be considering moving the engine up and forward in the bay, I think in the end less work than firewall, header, inlet manifold issues
Maybe you can use a set of headers like they use in gassers, they go up the frame and out to the sides
Jared - A mix of Caroll Shelby, Thomas Edision, Dr Frankenstein, and a Mad Scientist!
I would love to see Jared working on that YUGO in the backgraund
Coyote swap the Yugo? Hellcat it? :o
Be the change you want the world to be.... Real talk.
PLEASE Twin Turbo that thing! Two turbos, don’t touch the paint=ultimate sleeper!
Thank you ! I got so bored I started watching young static videos
i hope all is well if you continue to have the fitment issues could you do a small body lift? stay safe and take care
You had the same.idea I did. A header kit and run them straight out over the outside of the frame.
This thing is going to scream!
Easter Egg!!! A European classic from the 20th Century - Yugo ( Zastava Koral), seen at 5:41 :) Wonder if it will make its way into the Wrench Every Day series...
"classic"
That "cash for clunkers" stuff was gnarly! Such a shame putting it in perfectly healthy engines 😥
Run an after market computer like a haltec or holly so you can get way more power and control for when you turbo it.
I have a suggestion/question, could you make the whole front a hood? Lights, fenders, and all? Think it be easier to get to the engine to work on it, while so far down.
Turbo Yoda says 'log manifolds'place turbos high up.
Or put exhaust outside the frame rails.
Get a Holley dominator it will make your wiring simpler. And go for turbos.
Now he just needs a hilariously large turbo and tractor flap :)
Jared why don't you run a high mount A.C compressor bracket or relocation bracket. Serpentine belt ? Besides more money and keeping it under budget?
Good video Jared, thanks. Could you flip the headers forward like a TVR for the turbos?
Take a peak at any of Cletus' cars, just flip those bad boys over and twinturbskies all the way!!
