Just had my car serviced and MOT’d. Something they marked as ‘urgent’ was the pollen filter. For £75… I looked at the wife jumped on RUclips and thankfully came across this gem. £20 and all of 20 seconds later, replaced the bloody thing myself. Thank you for this video!
Thank you for actually making a video where you show the entire process instead of just mentioning the location and jump-cutting to it already out like most of these videos!
Fantastic video! I have a service manual and it just says "take the glovebox out". Gee, thanks... All the plastic makes me worried about snapping off some 0.50 part that takes weeks to get a new of.
Ugh ok so call me silly but I can’t get further than the hydrolic arm! I’ve unhooked that but the next bit where you push the sides in and lower the glove box?! I’ve watched every video I can find and tried for hours but I can’t get it to lower. Everyone skips through this bit way too quick, it’s harder than it looks :(
Hi Zebra88, If you go to 0.58 seconds on the video you will see my hand between the glovebox and the side of the dash, I then pull the glove box to the left as there is a pin on the back/side edge of the glovebox lid that needs to be pulled left so it clears the dash. In the video, it's at the back-right hand edge of the glove box and there is something you can see there that is white in the video. I only pointed out that it is white to give you an idea of where it is the while part is not actually part of the glove box. There is another lug on the back of the glove box on the left-hand side that you need to pull to the right to clear. Then it will dropdown. ☺ If you are still stuck let me know and I will email you a picture of the lugs on the back of the glove box.
Wayne Debnam thanks for the reply! So left rather than left and right sides together? Maybe I’m not giving it enough force I really want to see my cabin air filter as I’m having power issues when the AC is on! Trying to save on going to a mechanic single mum on budget ! I’ll give it another go !

great video knackers, i reckon you just save a few thousand people $80-$100 bucks they would have to pay mitsi to do this. well done buddy.
Super easy even for me, thanks for the tip and $$$ savings.
How often should this be done?
I normally check them every 10,000 km, I blow them out with compassed air and replace them if they become clogged.
nice and easy thank you
Thanks Wayne!
