I had a javascript interview a month ago and got the job. the questions I was asked were: what is the differences between Synchronous and Asynchronous programming. What is a callback function? what are the call, apply, and bind methods, why would you use bind()? another one was something along the lines of what is the better approach to making an ajax call onkeyup or making the call after a complete phrase is entered in a search box. what is the keyword this? I have some of these questions before and didnt get the job, I think what helped on this one is I definitely elaborated and gave actual examples and use cases. The time I didn't do it was on a stupid sparkhire video interview where it was timed and not face to face..

I've heard of people asking about call, bind and apply. If you don't know those, you're screwed. It's not something we use a lot. Maybe bind, but that's not frequent. Thanks for sharing!

from my experience for junior devs, they care a lot for js, not for css. More specifically, they will ask promises, callbacks, some array methods, some es6 questions, oop questions. I don't think that they will ask advanced questions on frameworks.

That could be right. I've seen it all over the place. Sometimes if you get a recommendation from someone in the company, you just have the job.

I was laid off 3 months ago from my job as a Sr. Front End Developer. I've had a couple of interviews since then with unsuccessful results. One interview had me do a short CSS exercise which was fairly simple, however I messed up on a small part which could have been easily remedied with the box-sizing property. I honestly never had to use it before and for the last 3 years, I've been using bootstrap which made me become lazy in my CSS knowledge. I've been doing front end development for over 10 years, but I feel so behind on technology now. Every company wants you to know the latest and greatest JS framework which I think is virtually impossible to know every one inside and out. I have a good working knowledge of AngularJS and have done online training in Vue.js. Now I'm trying to learn React. Might be time to hang up my development shoes and go work at the Home Depot. Ugh. So frustrating.

Don’t know if it’s just different in the US but here in the UK, we rarely get such technical questions. Every job I’ve gone for has been more interested in some of the projects I’ve worked on and my attitude.
But now I’m going for the biggest role I have in my career yet, and absolutely bricking it! I struggle to answer questions like these, but I can sure show you with my work 😭

Thanks for sharing the good idea about the interview! So simplify but tells all the most important parts.
    1. I would like to know "What questions do you want to ask us" that part. Cause I always not good at asking any questions.
    2. Also, is the resume must limit in 1 page? I had 4 companies work experience. Should I wrote more than 5 details bullet points for each work experience?
    3. Is there ant better way to describe skills on resume besides just writing 'em down one by one?
