It sucks that they can't play cemetery gates panteras best song imo.

Totally agree. I realized, it likely has to do with Phil's voice. They stuck to more mid-range songs.

Like play the parts of cemetary gates that he CAN sing then.. cutting out one of their best tunes and probably the one that made the band being their first big single seems like a missed opportunity. He could sing it differently if he needed to but dropping the song altogether and playing the beginning of it is pretty weak.

So they play a bit of the CD when theres actual singing in it and you lot are happy to pay for that!.... really?

I paid for MetallicA, actually. Whatever else came with that was extra. Getting to see this "Pantera" lineup was rad, because I'm a Zakk fan and huge Charlie fan, since the 80's. About the CD playing Cemetery Gates, I was not a fan. Zakk could've played the solo and I'm sure Phil could have practiced to hit those notes. Not too hard. 🤷‍♂

@@stewthedeluxe I've been a fan of pantera since vulgar display too there a great band! .......Phil's voice has gone now a bit, but to be expected with the style he has ,but I'm just saying if had paid to see them (I know as you say in your case they were a support and that's not who you was paying for) but even so I would expect live music not anything from a CD? And it's not just a dig at pantera there either it's the case with a lot of live bands now the amount of backing tracks there are behind the live music even ,its hard to work out what's actually being played at times now and what's backing tracks and to me personally I would sooner see them play live with warts and all even if they dont sound as good as studio album ,but that's just me personally and I'm sure a lot of people disagree? But opinions are what makes the world go round

@@tphvox Totally makes sense and I agree with getting the raw performance. Other than Cemetery Gates, which I think could have been omitted completely, because it got the crowd hyped up and then nothing, into another song, the rest was great.

@@masterblaster1329 Interesting take, considering they've never played along with a CD or backing track. They DO however play tracks, like intros (Roam, Blackened, Battery, Fight, etc.) before they kick in with live playing.
Also to add-on to my last comment to @tphvox the live recordings from the M72 shows are definitely being manipulated in the final mix before they are sold. Botched solos, intros, etc. are being patched in with "better" performances. I'm definitely NOT a fan of this. I don't know why they're doing this, but many disagree with this. Metallica has NEVER been perfect, ever since my first show in 1989, but that doesn't make them any less great.

@@stewthedeluxe I'm sure they were great I'm not slating pantera as a band (or Metallica) I just think (personally) they should play it all live and if you cant for whatever reason then leave it out of the set?.....different if they was moving the set about or changing something and didnt want to lose the crowd to silence, but they wasnt doing that they were just walking about I know he changed his guitar, but that's a quick thing and could just be filled with chat to the crowd .....And I think even without that you would be very surprised at actually how much backing tracks near enough every band now has in there live music ,there are hardly any left who dont use them either in pre recorded backing vocals or solos even drum parts? Now they all play live to click tracks because of it and I think again personally? It makes it lose that live feel and you may as well listen to the CD at home

Zakk is a pretty solid choice, especially considering their styles. Who would you suggest?

To whose girlfriend are you singing? Or to the man? You are not even understanding your own lyrics.

LOL I think it was the dude directly behind me. He was pushing up on me and was singing loudly. He was only there for Pantera. He actually left when they were done.
