Folks asked about the Traxxas Fiesta in previous video - now that they've announced a new Fiesta VXL for $429 I think it's definitely a consideration for those looking at picking up a new rally car. That said, I have one already so the CEN is top of my list ...having Monte Carlo stage on the tv at the moment doesn't hurt either
@JR-jr2ck No doubt the Traxxas VXL is a solid offering in rally just does fit well compared to these cars. It's hard to put it into words that it makes sense but compared to a 1:1 Fiesta I would say it's more 1/7 scale. The Maverick Rally and the ZD Racing Rally car are good comparisons with Traxxas Rally. I was really hoping Traxxas would drop a Pro-Scale Rally car. I've been eating up all of the Monte Carlo footage on YT😊
I love rallye cars. Own several myself, like the old Traxxas Rally, the 1:16 Rally, Vaterra Kemora and Losi Mini Rally (which are basically the same car), Tamiya XV-01. These 3 cars are all worth owning and i think i will add the WR8 to the collection, as im craving for this model ever since its come out all these years ago. I honestly think its one of the best rallye cars ever to be released, and finally there are spare parts available again.
@AsurasWrath164 Can't go wrong with the HPI. I see you got the 1/16 Vaterra. My son has the Ford Fiesta. That and the Kemora were some great platforms.
I like the Carisma & with the right electronics I think it’ll be super fun. I always wonder if the people that maintain the baseball fields would freak out driving on it I definitely wouldn’t unless it was abandoned.
@Casitascrawlers That Carisma is not a bad car too. Good thing about this field most times not in use since it's for softball and I tend to drive during the off seasons. Most times it's littered with geese poop😆
Hey nice runs. Were you saying it could use a centre diff? I would love some sway bars on mine for sure. Maybe some rally block tyres too :). What a beast on 3s.
Well that was certainly interesting. Would have guessed might do worse without centerdiff but also kind off difficult to see. Also the power difference is huge, maybe to fast. Not telling what you should do by any means, but think if you would run something "circuit style track" with different dedicated corners, straights and so on, maybe the differences could be more noticeable between the cars??? Love to see hpi in next video. Also maybe you could mention later on how much clearance these cars have. Guessing the carisma might have lowest bottom clearance, personally would find that interesting to know... Thanks
@peteroosterhoff8850 Unfortunately I filmed the entire series in a span of 48 hours, so everything is filmed already. Clearance wise, the Carisma is going to be the lowest followed by the Puma and then the HPI. I could only dream of having even an outdoor track (paved or asphalt) but where I live there is nothing like that here for miles. This is actually an Amazon parking lot which I get lucky not to get kicked out😆 Space here on Long Island is at a premium. I do have a 2s and 3s run video of this car, smaller lot but you may pick up what I'm speaking about that it drives more like a touring car OTB than a rally.
@@ReadySetRC Thanks for the info about the clearance. I do think a rally car should have a bit more clearance and travel. Maybe it doesn't look that cool, but i run some off my cars on-, and offroad. Only i change then are tires, ride height and shock angle and that works fine for me. I don't have no track to run also, we bought our selves some small (children traffic) cones and plastic dishes to make a circuit with. We accent the beginning or end off a corner with cones and put dishes inbetween... Now we wait for hpi. My gut says nr2 and 3 in your comparison may be the more difficult choice, but we will see...
I said Focus last video, I meant Puma. Clearly I was not focused :D It would be a close matchup in a race between the Puma and WR8. Puma has control whereas the WR8 has more available raw power but is easy to overdue (which I personally love). Great video!
The Cen Racing is a good-looking rally. Im throttle it sounds like a small jet. Its very quick on asphalt seems like you have to let off the throttle to make sharp turns. Now on the base ball field I like how it handles those tires have good traction on the dirt. I LIKE IT A LOT💯💯💯💯💯💯💢
@sparetimerc I apologize from now for another list addition😆 The CEN is a jet for sure. I did have to let off in the turns. I like my rally cars to do a little rear steer in the dirt. This one is just too controlled. After the shootout is done and if the hopups are not announced yet by CEN, I'm going to try some things to see if I can get it the way I like it. I wanted to keep these cars as close to box stock for this challenge.
I'm sorry ......Hands down best rally, and sad thing no company has caught up with the innovation this chassis has been on the block a good min.....just a all around good RC!!!!! I just bought my 2nd one just because I think 20 years from now will absolutely be one of those cars you wish you bought maybe even 2 years from now
Now u get why I changed out the radio for a dumborc with a gyro. As I thought, lots of power on road but u can’t get it down off road. I lent mine to a pal and he did a vid with it, he opens it up and says that CEN have made it so they can possibly release a diff for it some time soon. Check out the vid it’s quite interesting. ruclips.net/video/vFG18CetWQA/видео.htmlsi=MZiIQZtXB4J4qG7c Really enjoyed today’s vid mate, thanks. Now on to the WR8. 👍🏻
@tidyt3656 Great video from Matt G. I gave him a 👍 I see your car in all it's glory😆 I'm waiting for those upgrades to be announced. Hopefully it's coming out soon.

I LOVE the way it leans in the corners. Perhaps a little camber adjustment to the rear may make it more stable in the dirt? Another great video, bro.
@NathanStorer-RC Thanks man. It's just too over powered for this location.
Nice running video and awesome commentd👍
@RCBirds Thank you👍
Looks nice now all you need is some snow to run it in!
@ShenRC You got to send some of that snow are way😆

I'd say it's well worth the price for a 1/8 RTR. Wow.
@scaleworksRC I'll be honest if I did not own all three, I would still buy all three😊
@@ReadySetRC Yeah that WRX is hard to overlook. I got to test drive a real one in the mid 2000s so it's a special one for me too!
Love that CEN…..next up…HPI
@fogcityrc4874 Yessir💪
Hey nice runs. Were you saying it could use a centre diff? I would love some sway bars on mine for sure. Maybe some rally block tyres too :). What a beast on 3s.
@MauzyrockRC Yup center diff. I'll take all of the above😆 I've been checking HRP and CEN's site weekly.
Excellent video.!! 👍 👍 👍
@alantaylor353 Thank you very much!

cool rc and awesome run
@islandrc-duke1972 Thanks Duke, this series sure has been fun.

Great rally car💪😁
@Fortes_RC_Adv I'm hoping more manufacturers dip their toes in rally.
Idea for the next video : rally car vs truggy
@Rev792 Interesting🤔
This car would have been perfect if only LED light could be installed. That's the most regrettable thing.😊
@REPLAYRC I like that idea👍

@tidyt3656 No doubt! Even though this is the third run, I noticed from the first pull😆
