I was in a toxic relationship for 53 yrs. Been together since I was 18 yrs old. He was a narcissist. He was bad tempered, bullied me, put me down, sneered, smirked at me and gave me the silent treatment in spite of me being a perfectionist with most things, including my house, garden and my family. I lost my voice completely for 3 yrs, my hair fell out years before that. He left me and is still not a happy man and never will be.

I'm so sorry to hear about the pain and suffering you've endured for such a long time. It's incredibly brave of you to share your story, and I'm deeply moved by the strength you've shown in enduring such a difficult relationship. No one deserves to be treated that way, especially when you've given so much of yourself to maintain your home and family. It's heartbreaking to hear how this has impacted you physically and emotionally.
While his actions were unjustifiable, it's important to recognize that his unhappiness is a reflection of his own issues, not yours. You deserve peace, happiness, and a life free from such negativity. I'm here for you if you ever want to talk more or need support. Remember, your voice matters, and you're not alone.

@@powerfulstoichabits Yes, I know, stemmed from his childhood. Kept my appearance the best I could, each and every day for he and my self. That was in my nature. He wanted to destroy me as he needed that attention for him self. Very clever man, but not a happy man.

Ignoring is powerful. 18yrs of an abusive (physically, mentally, emotionally, verbally), I finally broke away. I still have the final battle (divorce court date) and am desperately seeking stoicism n this. He knowing that I was getting ready 2 have a life threatening surgery (my 16th), chose 2 become more abusive and violent.
