The Australian reviews for the Omoda seem to be a lot less positive than the South African reviews, I wonder if the SA Omoda has a different suspension tuning than the Aussie version...

There is a trend that I have noticed that South African reviews are generally positive compared to Australian reviews. Having driven some these cars I think Australia guys are very picky.

@@lebakasenatle4236 I have come to the same conclusion, they seem to be very biased and almost elitist when it comes to car brands.

Strange that chery are hiding their name , no brand name on front or rear and they have said they are putting omoda on the steering wheel with new models .
This is a chery car and omoda is the model name

The car is being branded as an Omoda C5 here in South Africa, therefore Omoda is the brand and not Chery. Some countries are branding it as a Chery and some as an Omoda, they're setting Omoda aside here in SA as their premium brand that is 'separate' from Chery.

IN SA they have launched Omoda as a separate sub-brand. Think Lexus to Toyota. The Chery on the steering wheel is apparently going to change when customer cars arrive, as opposed to the cars used for launch and media testing.
Personally, I am interested to see how the sub-brand progresses or if they couldn't have simply launched it as a Tiggo7 GT for example, considering how well the Chery brand has been received in SA

@@MotorMatters they are trying to hide the chery name because of its terrible reputation

@@bwamo2430 that’s incorrect chery is wanting to hide their name because of bad reputation it has. Omoda isn’t a premium vehicle
