“We’re all gonna die” I’ve enjoyed Ryan’s comic relief on this trip!
lol
Ryan was the most important role … to go for help. Make sure his friends were safe. Awesome video guys.
Ryan always adds a bit of humor. Enjoy the positive energy he gives off.
Absolutely! But Billy has his moments too, if he's not holding the camera, "You've got a big shaft here Edd!" I've noticed how he seems different when he isn't running the camera. On Ryan's, Phil's, Moe's, Edd's, & Michael 's channels he takes more chances with humor!
i really can't be doing with Ryan. He is very 'marmite'
The expression on Ryan’s face is priceless🥴😳 I don’t think he believes they’ll survive! I’m surprised that Edd was also a bit sceptical about the climb down. Once they were down, curiosity won out! Very intriguing 👍🏻
Billy and Ed's Excellent Adventure!
Thank you Billy, Alex and Edd for your mine adventure!
"My God, your shaft is huge Edd".....ha, ha ^_^
What compels "boys" to risk life and limb to go down an old mine shaft?! LOL 🤣 I'm with Ryan my first thought would be, "We're all going to die!" It would be a big "NO" for me. I do have to admit it's cool to see what's down there. Glad you survived! 😁
Hats off to Alex and his skills that allowed you to do this with some degree of safety. Great adventure, loved the string. Happy Father’s Day! 🙏🏼❤️
Very cool!! Well done by all! Alex is awesome!
Lots of chuckles watching this. Glad your all out safe though.
I love Ryan's enthusiasm.
Fascinating. I enjoyed very much.
I'm so claustrophobic, you're brave attempting that! Ryan's face was a picture when Alex was instructing him on the rope!!
I would be holding the coats alongside Ryan!!!
That was just amazing to see! Thank you all, who were involved from every aspect! Well done to you for conquering a fear too! 😬👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Love the caving vlogs. On future episodes, it would be great to see the formations in more detail that you come across. Thanks for taking us along.
“My god, your shaft is huge, Edd!” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
So enjoyed. Brave fellas.
What an adventure. Bravo Boys.
Thanks for the adventure.❤
When I was a kid, my mom would say to me, my siblings and friends- "Okay go have fun but don't get killed or arrested." We loved to have adventures especially on our trail bikes/motorcycles in the mountains when we were kids. I bet Anna and Gwen think something similar when Edd and Billy get together,. 😁
The tunnels are incredible, really loved hearing about how it was used during the war. It would be amazing to see how far they go. I'm so glad Edd was wearing a hard hat, he hit his head so many times! Billy missed a chance to make a joke about "tights come down!" he made so many other innuendos. 😂 So great to see you all together and I'm guessing Ernest had a great time with Anna and the kids.
Happy Father's Day to you all.
Off topic, but I love your shirt, Ryan. 1969 was the best summer of my life, turned 18, lived in Detroit, and the party was ON! So very much fun!! 😊
I hadn’t seen this yet. Thanks Alex!
Happy Father’s Day, Edd!
Happy Father's Day to you guys. Great tour. It's very pristine.
Definitely takes a lot of courage to go into an abandoned mine shaft. Luckily you saw no human skeletons. Some strange symbolism on the walls. Looks like a lot of history in that shaft. Thanks be to God you left safely. 😊🎉
Be nice to hear you all sitting at home together, telling us about all the history of these mines. Be nice to hear an expert or a history book telling us about the mine history. There must be other local spelunkers ( people that love to enter these mines or caves to explore) that have possibly mapped the areas already.
Spelunker here. Find some in your area and turn them loose in those beautiful tunnels!
The mines are fascinating and would love to learn more about them.
Can't wait for the big exploration to get underway with the crew! What a treat we're all in for and on father's Day to boot crack on !
Father’s Day in Europe is in July, I think.
@@mary-chiltonvanhees1201 Not till Sept in Australia.
Love the adventures Edd, we`re all gonna die, loved it.
Ryan is comedic gold!
Awesome to have friendship that you guys all share 🙏❤️
An amazing mine/cave system. It must've been hard manual work to cut, remove bits and remove huge blocks of stone to the outside world and eventually building gorgeous Bordeaux buildings back in the day. Of course, the Resistance forces may have used the caves to store defense supplies and possibly protecting people from being captured, like the equivalence to the American Underground Railroad safe haven locations from the South to the North for freedom. Edd and Billy/Alex/Cameraman, glad you avoided what appeared to be cave in sites and thanks for another lovely adventure at Chateau Lagorce. Looks like Ryan stayed behind. Did you have a means to communicate to Ryan or others in case of a mishap? Yes, Wine o'clock....much deserved for your efforts ! 🍷
If it's Limestone which it looks like it is it's quite a soft stone to cut and would have been done using 5/6ft hand saws.
You and Billy make a great comedic team! It’s so cool down in the mines!
G'day Ed.
I'm in Australia, but I assume all old under ground workings, operated roughly the same.
As they dig further in and have space left from previously mined areas behind, they start to fill those voids with the rubbish rock and waste, this saves them having to move it to far, no point carting rubbish.
Also what looked like door panels could have been used to block an opening and force the air flow in a different direction, around the workings.
Not sure just my observations.
Cheers.
Sounds logical lee….. I’d expect you are right!
Great work Alex!! That was so cool!
Awesome adventure boys 🎉.. thanks so much for taking us along ❤
Happy fathers Day Ed, an Billy,
Hello Alex an Ryan sweetheart
Well What are you up to guys 🤔
Oh my goodness 😳 why must

Its very cool guys I must admit
Ok I'm on board long as it's you all down there an not me" yep
I did enjoy it tku Ed...
My love to Anna an the children
Stay safe and well guy's ❤🙏🏼
Well that was one of the best videos, brave boys!
Loved this video. The caves were so intriguing and I look forward to seeing another explore by you and possibly Billy if he is there and Ryan is a total hoot. Ryan did not go down with you did he? 😊
Happy Father's Day Edd. Enjoy your Day. Xx 😘😊Fascinating Edd
What a wild ride ♥️💞 looking forward to more reveals about the true history one day ♥️💞🥂thank you!
So interesting, thank you. I have been reading a lot lately about the Women who played an essential part of the resistance during the 2nd WW, sadly there were many who were caught and tortured then executed but they never revieled any information. They were from different countries but all spoke fluent french, some went on to live good lives. I can't wait to see more of these tunnels, as this is true history. Well done everyone 💕🇦🇺
I am very claustrophobic Edd this vlog made me feel ill. Well done to Billy and you to brave it!
You guys are so funny. The looks that Ryan gave to the camera in the beginning were hilarious.
The way I always remember cave formations is stalactites have to hold on tight to keep from falling and stalagmites might grow up to reach the ceiling.
The mites go up and the 'tites come down.
To all the Fathers Happy Fathers Day ❤
WOW! Now that is some adventure complete with spiders. More please!!! Yes, I would love to know about some research and history of these tunnels.
I'm with the person who exclaimed about the difficulty there would have been getting those large mined stones out of there! Something is missing in telling the whole story of getting the product out of the cave system. Ive been down into the salt mines of Southern Bavaria and they constructed rail systems to move the product along the cave hallways, just like the coal miners did. At 77 years old this grandmother loved going along with Billy, Edd and Alex! Great filming Alex! Nice Ryan stood by the tower just in case he needed to go for help!😮
Brave! Not in a million years would I go down!
ryan has a man-ly way of working in the woods.......very strong and balanced!!!!!!
😂😂😂
really?
10:57- "people pay good money for this" OMG that gave me a good chuckle.
What an amazing cave system, it would be interesting to use GPS to map the caves properly. Even cooler to excavate and shore up the caves somehow to preserve them
Agree - there is definite footage there for a couple more videos!
GPS technology doesn't work underground ...
Doubt there would be GPS underground🤣
Definitely a time team vibe there.
@@AdmiralReering there are tunnel- and mining-systems for tracking.
Great ! it's like exploring a minecraft cave
Everyone involved brought something special to the exploration, it was historically interesting & cool to watch.
Thank you all, I really enjoyed this vlog.
You should add a "spider trigger warning" in the description 😂😮
You are all so brave!!! My god
Early explorers have nothing on Ed’s & Billy’s cave exploration. Like 2 young boys.
It's a cross between "Boys' Own Adventure" and "Tom Sawyer." I'd be exploring all the time. What an amazing opportunity for adventure!!! And documenting history. Imagine being the people removing that block. It had to be literally backbreaking. I'm amazed there isn't a lot of candle evidence.
Loved it! There has to be another way in
That was insane! Bravo to friends who go with you on those tough things!
Crack On Mate, I am just shaking my head!!! Leave it to the men to find something to do. Well you have my attention!!! Happy Father's Day to all
What an amazing adventure for this old lady watching you middle age men exploring, I loved it thank you so much for your fun video. 😊😊❤
That was exciting but scary too! 😮
Very cool! Happy Father’s Day! ❤ from 🇨🇦
I don't know what to say apart from that was bloody brilliant. Thank you so much for putting yourselves safely at risk to share this video. I'm just blown away. ❤
That's creepy!!! Wouldn't catch me going in there. Especially with the spiders...no way! Just too creepy!!!
The Mammoth Cave in the US was the largest cave I’ve ever been in. It was amazing. How cool to have your own cave!❤
Ed, so glad you and Billy got out of the mine safe & sound. You are alot braver than I would be especially after seeing the spiders. Stay safe, Kathy USA 🇺🇸
I don't think they have venomous spiders in France.
Glad you have expert help getting down there, Amazing little adventure, ladder wasnt for short legs Billy, I watched you struggle and even scare yourselves with your own thoughts, watching too many horrors maybe? 😂😂 I imagine it was of great use to the resistance in the war, great find. Thanks for taking us with you
Thankyou for sharing another wonderful vlog. Indiana Edd and the decent of a shaft. I might have seen that movie 🤭😂🤣😘😘
Never seen Ryan look so nervous. X
Ryan, if by "I want to go home!" you mean 'go back to the chateau to drink lots of wine with Anna by the pool,' I totally agree!😅
That was fun.🧑🚒🧗☕️🍺😊
StalagTite Tombe (fall)
StalagMite Monte ( go up)
Easy to remember in french !
Fascinating exploration!
Fascinating! Thanks for taking us along.
Awesome Guys. Really Cool.
I would be no help to either of you. I'm claustrophobic and afraid of heights. But I enjoyed watching you both from the safety of my house in Virginia USA. The caves are amazing. Thanks for letting us tag along. I think I need a glass of wine right now.
Watching from NC!
You need to leave your marks in the tunnels for future explorers. Hugs
Good stuff! Bought back memories of caving with my Dad roughly 40 years ago. Would like to see it mapped one day.
Edd left his mark on the tunnel with his “crack on” helmet, Ouch! Great Vlog!
Impressive shaft 😂😂😂 Ryan’s facial expressions are comedy gold. Loved this video Edd!
As soon as I saw those spiders, I’d be gone. Nope! 🕷️🕸️🕷️
I believe I would have stayed topside with Ryan for this one but good for you guys
Loved exploring
Cool tour, boys. With the amount of mining going on, one would think there would be more debris laying about from the workers.
Maybe it flooded at some point or more and washed it all away
lmfao I'm coming Ed. Ok come on. My God your shaft is huge Ed! (I can't stop laughing) I bet you've been waiting all week to say that Billy.
Yes! Stalactites hang “tight” from the top. Stalagmites grow “mighty” from the bottom. Easy peasy! 👏
That was cool. Thanks to everyone for risking your lives so we could see inside this cool mineshaft. 😊👍🏻 Great job guys.
I would love to have a place like that in my back garden. 20 years ago I would have gone down there for sure but as I've got older I do get chlostraphobia but that's probably ok, it's not so tight.
This is kind of historic, yes? Wow.
Hence the music
Not sure if someone mentioned it already, but the Writing on the wall: under RENEE, it says HILFE in German. so help in english
Edit: Timestamp is 15:48
Who knows what went on down there!
Great episode! Thank you all for making and sharing this wonderful episode! It was exciting!
Ryan always makes me laugh at the things y’all get up to! Thanks Ryan!😂
Spooky! At any minute I expected Gollum to leap out of one of those pools of water!
You two are nuts! I’d be with Ryan above ground 😮
As soon as I saw the spiders 🕷️ I would have run right back up the ladder 🪜 😂😂😂Great adventure and vlog guys. Thanks for sharing 😍😘
So cool! You could use one of those running apps to map the cave while you go in and out of the small sections to the main shaft, at the same time locate where you are above ground.
