My dad and my sister saw one south of Bend, OR about 20 years ago. It suddenly ran across the road in front of their car, cleared the 2-lane highway in only a few steps and disappeared up the embankment on the other side. Startled both of them. My sister was afraid to drive that section of road for years afterward.
Did they happen to have any sort of concrete evidence of this sighting? While there is a possibility of them coming across a sasquatch, the probability of that being true is highly unlikely, especially since it has been several hundreds of years since the first time we have heard of claims like this and yet, none of us have any actual evidence of this being true. Following Occam’s Razor, it is more likely that they saw a different type of animal running across, such as a large bear for example, and that they just said they saw Big Foot in order to gain attention from it.
I always think about that, what if they had heighten senses and very aware of their surroundings. Like they could hear and smell things miles away. It would be so easy to avoid human line of sight.
There smart af if they live in 10000 of acres of untouched forest... yeah there smart and they dont wanna be bothered is my guess, all myths and legends have some truth to it, there called that for a reason. Native Americans talked about them as well alot and Aztecs etc
I think they are similar to gorillas. If you have watched some gorilla videos, you will notice that they dislike humans staring at them. It might be the same for these creatures.

But it completely failed to deal with some of the major obstacles and gave the impression that the scientific community is divided on the issue, whereas it's pretty much Meldrum on his own. I can see why Bigfoot believers liked it, but as a scientific justification it was well short of convincing. For example, we know exactly what bears eat and when and where they go to find food, so if you want to find a bear, check the calendar and you'll know where to look, Bigfoot must eat the same things because in the Pacific Northwest there isn't any source of food that bears don't seek out, so why has no one ever come across a Bigfoot eating? It's practical things like that which are the giveaway. And isn't it strange that there is one category of professionals who have never, ever taken a photo or video of Bigfoot and that's professional wildlife photographers?

Apparently you weren't paying attention to the video. It's NOT about just the height, it's the bizarre proportions and the unusual way the creature walked. No human has those proportions or can easily walk like that.

i had an encounter with something when i was 13 yrs old, i never really saw it because it was pitch black in the woods , but it was big and ran on two legs. when it took off through the woods you could here small dead trees crashing to the ground as it ran along. we slept in our tree house lol but it came back and circled for a long time. all i had to do was get up with a flashlight and have a look, but i was too terrified. i listened to it walk off just before sunrise.
The only detail you missed is that people point to the almost perfect overlap of bear territory with Bigfoot sightings, skeptics say this means all bigfoot sightings are mis identification since bears can also walk up right for short periods of time. But that overlap of territory makes complete sense when you take into account that bear and Bigfoot would have extremely similar diet and caloric needs, so any area that can support bears will most likely also support Bigfoot. And I have three family members that swear they’ve seen it. So there’s that.
I have reviewed all of the evidence from "Finding Bigfoot" and "Expedition Bigfoot" shows. After almost a decade of TV shows, you would think they would have found him by now. 🤣

Similar but with subtle regional variations. There are almost 600 tribes currently recognised. They had oral records, not written, so could someone have jumped on a horse an told campfire stories to every single tribe, across 25 million kilometres- given they were often at war over territory? Or is it more likely they are describing something they are actually interacting with?

Given the number of ape like hominins that have existed I think it's entirely fair to say that one or more species of bigfoot or bigfoot like beings has existed at some point during the lifetime of mankind, and may be currently existing. Dryopithecus (a very distant ancestor of humans) has been put forward as a evolutionary ancestor of bigfoot.
So, a member of the Dryopithecines that survived the cooling of the Miocene/Pliocene, and later migrated into North America during the Pleistocene? Interesting thought. Maybe I should mention there were giant bipedal baboons (Paradolichopithecus) in Europe around that time, maybe they survived? I’m a skeptic, but it’s fun to think about.
@@dynamoterror7077 I'm a skeptic as well, I'm not sure this is the truth of what happened or whether bigfoot really definitely exists or not, I just believe it's not a zero-chance idea that bigfoot is a thing. Have you heard of Sivapithecus or Ouranopithicus? They might be said to be similar in overall design to a bigfoot, albeit if I remember correctly Sivapithecus is a good bit smaller than bigfoot is said to be. The location of the Danuvius Guggenmosi find seems like a good indicator to me that primates and apelike hominins were very widespread, too.
It lived in France, adult males are thought to have weighed about 100lbs and it went extinct about 11 million years ago as the climate cooled. If it's an evolutionary ancestor there sure is a lot more evidence required to show how it came to North America, increased in size by at least 500% and now lives in a climate with cold winters. Since it appears to have left no fossil record in the intervening 11 million years it's going to be an uphill struggle. I'd love to be convinced I'm wrong.

Honestly I think it's a fake, It was filmed by a person in the entertainment industry not very far from LA, one of the only places back then that you could actually find an ape suit. All he had to do was drive down to LA, rent or buy a suit from one of the hundreds of costume shops. This would've been far more believable had it been, for instance filmed by a hunter in Louisiana or a hiker in Idaho. The guy was just out to get some fame and he got it.
What was it like? I know most people that have the misfortune of seeing one often say they are paralyzed with fear and often times hours go by without their knowledge.

I have seen the film you mentioned many times, enhanced and the raw footage and it is still (to me!) just another fuzzy video of somebody in an ape-like suit...and not an especially great suit at that. (Apes/Chimps do not have chest hair!) My biggest gripe is most all wild animals flee quickly when they are spotted this 'Bigfoot' just strolls away. Also, did they just have one roll of film? Some video of the footprints etc. would have been nice. Great fireside story's though.
Honestly for me living in northern California for all my life. I believe that film is 100% real! Simply because of the location in that area was in-between Orleans and Hoopa. Which are two very small places especially the reservation of hoopa. I know where that film was made as well I used to hike there with my uncle while hunting I believe it was called "Bluff Creek" near Weitchpec I used to try to recreate that walk and everything and me being 6'1 with a 16 inch shoe size and trying to long stride was quite difficult. Plus funny enough I'm pretty sure that bigfoot was a female as well. There's a lot of crazy stuff in the northern region of California in the mountains. Some scary enough to leave you frozen in place or fleeing for your life. Plus a lot of wild life. For I have stories with walking beside mountain lion cubs and staring face to face with a black bear. I also believe like "Survivor man" and even "Finding Bigfoot" even had a trip in that area.

The OG lockeness picture is proven a hoax, the woman who took the picture explained how the water phantom in her photo was actually just a floatation craft she had made and took the picture of. Also Locke ness has been completely analysed for finding what kind of creatures' wastes are left in the lake as well as sonar scanning. No monster, however they did find a large amount of eels that they were unaware of.

Did you guys even watch the video? It’s impossible to create a suit that lifelike now, let alone in the mid 60s! Plus scientists tell us this creature has a longer torso than legs. Something not possible in humans.
Apparently you weren't paying attention to the video. It's NOT about just the height, it's the bizarre proportions and the unusual way the creature walked. No human has those proportions or can easily walk like that.

i had an encounter with something when i was 13 yrs old, i never really saw it because it was pitch black in the woods , but it was big and ran on two legs. when it took off through the woods you could here small dead trees crashing to the ground as it ran along. we slept in our tree house lol but it came back and circled for a long time. all i had to do was get up with a flashlight and have a look, but i was too terrified. i listened to it walk off just before sunrise.

The only detail you missed is that people point to the almost perfect overlap of bear territory with Bigfoot sightings, skeptics say this means all bigfoot sightings are mis identification since bears can also walk up right for short periods of time. But that overlap of territory makes complete sense when you take into account that bear and Bigfoot would have extremely similar diet and caloric needs, so any area that can support bears will most likely also support Bigfoot. And I have three family members that swear they’ve seen it. So there’s that.

Similar but with subtle regional variations. There are almost 600 tribes currently recognised. They had oral records, not written, so could someone have jumped on a horse an told campfire stories to every single tribe, across 25 million kilometres- given they were often at war over territory? Or is it more likely they are describing something they are actually interacting with?

My point was mainly that saying "7 foot tall...taller than any bear" toward the start of the video wasn't really correct in terms of their standing height.

Given the number of ape like hominins that have existed I think it's entirely fair to say that one or more species of bigfoot or bigfoot like beings has existed at some point during the lifetime of mankind, and may be currently existing. Dryopithecus (a very distant ancestor of humans) has been put forward as a evolutionary ancestor of bigfoot.
So, a member of the Dryopithecines that survived the cooling of the Miocene/Pliocene, and later migrated into North America during the Pleistocene? Interesting thought. Maybe I should mention there were giant bipedal baboons (Paradolichopithecus) in Europe around that time, maybe they survived? I’m a skeptic, but it’s fun to think about.
@@dynamoterror7077 I'm a skeptic as well, I'm not sure this is the truth of what happened or whether bigfoot really definitely exists or not, I just believe it's not a zero-chance idea that bigfoot is a thing. Have you heard of Sivapithecus or Ouranopithicus? They might be said to be similar in overall design to a bigfoot, albeit if I remember correctly Sivapithecus is a good bit smaller than bigfoot is said to be. The location of the Danuvius Guggenmosi find seems like a good indicator to me that primates and apelike hominins were very widespread, too.
Fair enough this is an extinct species but it definitely serves as proof of concept 😊☮️
It lived in France, adult males are thought to have weighed about 100lbs and it went extinct about 11 million years ago as the climate cooled. If it's an evolutionary ancestor there sure is a lot more evidence required to show how it came to North America, increased in size by at least 500% and now lives in a climate with cold winters. Since it appears to have left no fossil record in the intervening 11 million years it's going to be an uphill struggle. I'd love to be convinced I'm wrong.

It was filmed by a person in the entertainment industry not very far from LA, one of the only places back then that you could actually find an ape suit.
All he had to do was drive down to LA, rent or buy a suit from one of the hundreds of costume shops.
This would've been far more believable had it been, for instance filmed by a hunter in Louisiana or a hiker in Idaho.
The guy was just out to get some fame and he got it.

I have seen the film you mentioned many times, enhanced and the raw footage and it is still (to me!) just another fuzzy video of somebody in an ape-like suit...and not an especially great suit at that. (Apes/Chimps do not have chest hair!) My biggest gripe is most all wild animals flee quickly when they are spotted this 'Bigfoot' just strolls away. Also, did they just have one roll of film? Some video of the footprints etc. would have been nice. Great fireside story's though.

Honestly for me living in northern California for all my life. I believe that film is 100% real! Simply because of the location in that area was in-between Orleans and Hoopa. Which are two very small places especially the reservation of hoopa. I know where that film was made as well I used to hike there with my uncle while hunting I believe it was called "Bluff Creek" near Weitchpec I used to try to recreate that walk and everything and me being 6'1 with a 16 inch shoe size and trying to long stride was quite difficult. Plus funny enough I'm pretty sure that bigfoot was a female as well.
There's a lot of crazy stuff in the northern region of California in the mountains. Some scary enough to leave you frozen in place or fleeing for your life. Plus a lot of wild life. For I have stories with walking beside mountain lion cubs and staring face to face with a black bear.
I also believe like "Survivor man" and even "Finding Bigfoot" even had a trip in that area.
