So much good information in this I feel like can be as complicated as you make it but I like how he simplified it. The idea of building the muscle size to be capable of more strength, then using that strong muscle to build power makes a lot of sense for periodization, and I like how each of these portions of a program fit into a designated part of the athlete's season.

This was a lot of information, but was very important and felt like I learned a lot of new things about periodization for strength and power sports. It is important to have off-seasons because your body cannot be in competition mode for months on end which can be difficult to program for athletes who want to compete year round.

This lecture was fascinating and the part that stuck with me was how 1RM does not always provide the best method for getting overall great gains. It just does a good job of getting fast gains but not for a long time.

Great take away; The goal of periodization is to manage fatigue and optimize recovery and adaptation. Also to peak at the right moments.

I like the breakdown and explanation of the phases. Building the muscle with hypertrophy and then conditioning that muscle to gain more power and explosiveness. It seems like there is a never ending rabbit hole to dive into these concepts and tease out more knowledge of what our bodies are capable of.

It is not only important for the athlete to understand that training and adaptations are a process, but it is important for the coach and trainer to understand this concept as well. The focus should not be what is going to happen tomorrow, but what is going to happen down the road long term.

This guy has seriously to take some courses of presenting. I don't want to go into his knowledge that 100 % he has, but worst lecturer did not appear in front of my eyes as he did that. He may know everything, but if he doesn't know how to transmit that to the audience than he is doing nothing actually except wasting his time

Hey, is it possible that the presenter, Dr. Stone is NOT the one responsible for how the presentation is filmed and edited? Have you heard of a producer? An editor? Your comment ranks right up there saying your favorite singer is no good because the sound engineer didn't turn their microphone on. I sat in college lectures listening to Dr. Stone as a student of his, and his presentation was just fine.
