Sintering happens in the furnace. It is the process of heating the part to the point where the metal powder fuses together. The part formation stage can be the same pressing process as shown or other processes such as metal injection molding or powder injection molding, to name two.
Holy crap, several days to sinter parts? I work at a powder metal manufacturing plant and I work on the compact presses and sinter furnaces. It only takes our parts 1/2 to 3 hours to go through the sinter furnace, and yes, that includes the cooling process. We don't make any parts that take longer than that to sinter. WTH?
@@mjkhan9664 I don't know about all plants that manufacture powder press parts, but the parts we manufacture require a temp in the range of 2000 to 2100 degrees F in order to fully fuse into a solid metal part. They need to be run through the furnace at temperature on a belt about 30 feet long. It takes about 1/2 to 3 hrs for a part to transverse the length of the furnace, so they are subject to 2000 plus degrees for 15 minutes. We take 3 parts off the end every 15 to 30 minutes to do checks. If they are out of spec tolerances, like too small or too big, we can either adjust the temp up or down, or adjust the belt speed to bring them back into spec.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to make these videos. Its a great tool to visually explain these processes.
Very brief and straight to the point. 👍
so sintering is whole process or just baking portion?

the process CAN take up to several days, doesn't mean it always will :)
Well as we know some businesses are MORE efficient & up to date than others
How much heat is needed to fully fuse the metal together?

Nice!!!!
very interesting
So you basically cold weld metal powder. Awesome lol

Cool Method...
Why use of sinter product in india is less then other country?
