This makes me so happy I decided to carry on the Saxophone legacy in my family. My grandmother played it in the marching band for Baldwin High School on maui 1951-1955, then my dad in the 70's and myself between 2003-2008, and my brother in middle/high school 2016-2022......its soulful and I love it, keep up the music 🎷❤🎷❤🎷❤🎷❤🎷❤🎷

There's a halcyon feeling that comes with it; days gone by sitting at the porch, watching the rain gently touch the ground, a brother or sister inside, playing video games or watching tv...and somewhere, out in the distance, a person not daunted by the droplets covering them and their instrument, standing at the corner, playing the afternoon away...

The music is amazing, so soulful and plain ol' GOOD!!! But I can understand why some dislike it, especially if they were looking for more of a balance between the rain sound & jazz and they felt this was a deceptive title. I was disappointed too, but enjoyed the music so much that I kept listening!! :)) It would not have been enough for me to press the "dislike" button! But then, I am a Music Teacher and am in love with jazz. Just saying where I can understand some see it as disappointing if more of a rain sound is what they were looking for. (I suffer from severe nerve damage and sometimes nature sounds (i.e., rain, wind, snowstorms, etc.) are all that can help me thru when I am struggling with the monstrous pain. And who can resist lying down for a nap when soft rain AND soft jazz are playing???! Thank you very, very much!

Mark, I've had a song running around in my head for a very long time --"Nice to be around", by Paul Williams. It has an odd and haunting melody and phrasing, with very intelligent words. Numerous singers have recorded it, including Williams, Johnny Mathis, and others. Would you ever consider playing it on a future compilation? Your tenor sax and the way you play it would be spot on for this song ... or your alto if you wanted to somewhat mimic Paul Williams' singing. I'd sure like to hear your rendition if at all possible!!
Hey Scott: You can google Paul Williams, or the great Johnny Mathis, and you should be able to find "Nice to be around" -- if you want the most haunting version, I think the composer, Paul Williams, is it. You can also get the words to the song, again by googling. And you'll find song and lyrics on RUclips. Hope that's helpful, and I'll bet you'll be as intrigued with the song as I have been for so many years. Cheers!!

The music is amazing, so soulful and plain ol' GOOD!!! But I can understand why some dislike it, especially if they were looking for more of a balance between the rain sound & jazz and they felt this was a deceptive title. I was disappointed too, but enjoyed the music so much that I kept listening!! :)) It would not have been enough for me to press the "dislike" button! But then, I am a Music Teacher and am in love with jazz. Just saying where I can understand some see it as disappointing if more of a rain sound is what they were looking for. (I suffer from severe nerve damage and sometimes nature sounds (i.e., rain, wind, snowstorms, etc.) are all that can help me thru when I am struggling with the monstrous pain. And who can resist lying down for a nap when soft rain AND soft jazz are playing???! Thank you very, very much!

Mark, I've had a song running around in my head for a very long time --"Nice to be around", by Paul Williams. It has an odd and haunting melody and phrasing, with very intelligent words. Numerous singers have recorded it, including Williams, Johnny Mathis, and others. Would you ever consider playing it on a future compilation? Your tenor sax and the way you play it would be spot on for this song ... or your alto if you wanted to somewhat mimic Paul Williams' singing. I'd sure like to hear your rendition if at all possible!!

Hey Scott: You can google Paul Williams, or the great Johnny Mathis, and you should be able to find "Nice to be around" -- if you want the most haunting version, I think the composer, Paul Williams, is it. You can also get the words to the song, again by googling. And you'll find song and lyrics on RUclips. Hope that's helpful, and I'll bet you'll be as intrigued with the song as I have been for so many years. Cheers!!

This was amazingly relaxing! I work with some challenging students and they were able to focus and enjoy their class because of this music.
