I prepared for IIT-JEE in 2011-2013. I mentally gave up in 2012, and ofc never got into IITs. At the end of my 11 standard, I went from being a school topper to being completely hopeless and depressed. In admist of all this, I discovered that I enjoyed learning physics, so I went on to do a BSc. Physics from Amity University in Noida, after keeping my pride aside and fighting an year long depression. Perhaps the best decision of my life, not to waste another year in the rat race and save my life bcz I was becoming suicidal with the existential crisis I had. In 2016, I graduated from Amity as second of my class and got into NIT Srinagar for my MSc. Physics after qualifying IIT-JAM. I learned more in Amity than at NIT. Neverthless, no one knew how to teach properly. No one had any happiness when teaching and talking about physics. My true inspiration came from RUclips where I watched American Professors. In 2018, I took a gap year, worked hard and took GREs, and came to the US to do my MS in Teaching, because I realized how fucked up our education system is, private or government it is all about the next rat race, and I wanted to fix it by being a teacher. I am almost done with my MS, I had assitantship for the whole 3 years, the University of Maine paid for my tuition, and I got a monthly stipend of 1700$. In fact, I even saved and bought my first car last year. Professors here have completely changed the way I understood Math and Physics, and how to teach it. I have been very happy, and I look forward to becoming a Math and Physics teacher, and then want to do my education based global non-profit startup. I am extremely happy that I didn't make it to IITs, that I followed my love for physics and then for teaching, and studied what I liked and found my own personal way to make it big, rather than becoming an engineer. My Physics teacher at Aakash Institute in Delhi used to say, "there is more to life than IITs," and he was absolutely right. I hope if you are reading this, you write your own journey and become what you truly value personally rather than finding your worth in a tag. If you will use a brand to validate your self-worth, you will never feel satisfied and always keep running. Being from BITS Pilani and saying I couldn't get into a good college is like saying" I am poor, I'm not as rich as Jeff Bezos, I'm Warren Buffet" 😂😂 Thanks for the motivation bhaiya
@sourav choudhary I'd like to clear your misconception about BITS 1. My brother is in NITK(2nd best NIT) and my friend in BITS 2. NITs have 50% state reservation and 50% quota reservation, so the quality of students drops 3.If you think Goa and Hyd are bad and pilani is better, let me tell you the CSE placements at Hyd exceeded Pilani's in 2019 by a small margin and Goa compus has more GSoC selections than Top IITs 4. All the faculties, companies(for placements) ,students, extrance exam policies, are same for all 3 campuses 5. Students graduating from all 3 campuses get the exact same name i.e "BITS Pilani" on their degrees 6. The placement opportunity in all top colleges are equivalent so you shouldn't compare 7. For overall development, BITS is slightly above top NITs provided you don't have a financial crunch 😂Now let me get back to studies
I wrote my JEE more than 40 years back and a lot of things have changed but here is my story. I went to a normal school and never to any coaching class. Not even knew they existed. Just did normal school work but always had a curious mind and tried puzzles, reading fiction etc. on a routine basis. JEE was a little harder than school, nevertheless got in. Most of my class mates at IIT, I think, did similar preparation. It is so sad to see JEE has become such a racket.

It is coz engineering taught how to do survival in opposite condition how face bad scenes and find solutions for them they basically taught how to struggle And after engineering there is no fear of risk coz the biggest risk we had taken after pursuing engineering 😅😅
Bill gates and many other billionaires were once engineers.... They were from top institutes... For eg bill gates scored very very well in SAT exam... Many billionaires r from top universities like harvards... Their engineering degree helps them in a great way to become entrepreneur... I think most students get attracted to IIT's is due to the big salaries and not about what they like to do. I mean we should focus on which career will be the most suitable for me rather than just only focusing on money. I mean they target us at a young age when we don't really know what we like we haven't had any experience about different fields and what are they like and people take advantage of it.
The whole JEE thing has become a joke. School education has collapsed in India and none of JEE qualifiers have motivation to work in their course as they are so exhausted.

@sourav choudhary And who are you to decide about his career? I feel you're either a BITS hater or a 2023 noob
😂
@sourav choudhary I'd like to clear your misconception about BITS
1. My brother is in NITK(2nd best NIT) and my friend in BITS
2. NITs have 50% state reservation and 50% quota reservation, so the quality of students drops
3.If you think Goa and Hyd are bad and pilani is better, let me tell you the CSE placements at Hyd exceeded Pilani's in 2019 by a small margin and Goa compus has more GSoC selections than Top IITs
4. All the faculties, companies(for placements) ,students, extrance exam policies, are same for all 3 campuses
5. Students graduating from all 3 campuses get the exact same name i.e "BITS Pilani" on their degrees
6. The placement opportunity in all top colleges are equivalent so you shouldn't compare
7. For overall development, BITS is slightly above top NITs provided you don't have a financial crunch
😂Now let me get back to studies

I wrote my JEE more than 40 years back and a lot of things have changed but here is my story. I went to a normal school and never to any coaching class. Not even knew they existed. Just did normal school work but always had a curious mind and tried puzzles, reading fiction etc. on a routine basis. JEE was a little harder than school, nevertheless got in. Most of my class mates at IIT, I think, did similar preparation. It is so sad to see JEE has become such a racket.
Correct BIG racket!
Its all happened mostly in the last 15 years. Before that even JEE toppers didn't care about what they had acheived.

It 2020 if people still get attracted by big salaries then it their problem that they don't try to explore things thoroughly.
