I gotta ask, how does this fabric compare to the Okayama Spirit or MIJ10? Both are around 16oz. Is this one even more textured or is this a green cast version of the Okayama Spirit?
This one the slub is a bit more vertical, where as the OS makes more of a scratchy static pattern. I'll see if the guys can compare the 2 on the next TWATY.
@@AntoineThisdale I have the midnight slub stretch in true guy. They aren't as heavy, but they are super comfortable. They just released the broken twill slub stretch, no 33 in yr fit of choice? I'd love a pair of those, but I just have too many jeans to work on at the moment.
@AntoineThisdale also you can sign up for an email or text alert for when yr size is back in stock. It's came in clutch for me several times. One of them being the 15th anniversary jeans in true guy!
Snowy has been opening up to being on video a lot lately. Os that the craftsman zip chore? I want it. And the MIJ 12. Please! What's a 36th pair of jeans...
I've bought a pair of these jeans. They fit perfect around the waist but I can barely get them above my ankles after rolling them up. I think they are too long. Is it okay to get them hemmed so that they will be easier to wear? I'm unfamiliar with hemming selvedge denim.
It's a right hand twill. A quick way to tell is by looking at the twill direction, if it starts on the top right and goes down to the bottom left, it's a right hand twill. If it starts on the top left, and goes down to the bottom right, it's a left hand twill.
The sizes are artificial, and have no meaning so, there is no real meaning to "size up" or "size down", get what fits (if you didn't know, a fun fact is sizing is a couple orders of magnitude worse for women). What they also say every time people ask (and someone asks in a lot of their streams) is: look at the measurement guide, look at how they measure (they use a lay flat and double method, but also have a video with instructions to watch if you haven't) and measure something that you like the fit of the same way. Then get the closest one. My suggestion is the closest one that is larger so you are sure to be comfortable and the worst that comes of that is needing a belt, but if it's too small you can't or just won't want to wear it. The 36 has a 38" measurement on the waist and the 38 has a 40" measurement. With their wash process, shrinkage will be pretty minimal, so don't expect much change and it will mostly be restored after a day of wear after a wash (my experience so far). Personally, I have something that has a 2" bigger measure and I have to wear a belt to keep it up. All our shapes are different, so I don't think anyone can tell you what you will be comfortable in based only on a single waist measurement.
@sheetaboutme they literally have exact measurements for each tag size on their site, and for every single jeans in every fit. And there are some brands that don't use vanity sizing, like left field, but there's other sizes that people may be concerned about other than waist size. For me, I have a 32" waist and if the front rise isn't at least 11.5, I won't get it cause I'll be uncomfortable. I like to where my jeans how they're meant to be worn, not below my hips like chicks in the late 90s.
Measure the jeans that you own, then compare those measurements to the size charts we have listed. If you find you are between sizes after you compared measurements, I always suggest going for the size with the slightly bigger measurements.
One of the real tragedies in life is how slow denim fades in comparison to how fast cool new releases drop. These look beautiful!
Ain't that the truth.
There’s just something wonderful about when the colour tones meet up with a nice slub. These look remarkable.
Just this minute ordered mine! I have a much-loved pair of MIJ3 I’ve worn regularly since 2017…and still in action. These can’t be beat!
I loved the 3's so much!! I wish I didn't out grow my pair. Enjoy the 12's :)
I just got my pair I’m so excited to try these on and see how they wear.
Really hoping I can cop one of these! I’ve been wanting to add a slubbier pair to my wardrobe and I think the green cast is a really unique touch
Cool hearing about the process that goes into making these. Should have named them Un-secret denim
Got my alarm set to grab the heritage jacket!
I hope there are some in my size left when I wake up!

I'd love that kind of detail in stretch :)
You should check out our Slub Stretch Selvedge series - a very textured fabric with just a hint of stretch.
Looks awesome indeed. i'll just have to wait for a restock (33). Thank you for the recomm! @@NakedandFamousDenim

He can't resist the spotlight. And yes, that's the Craftsman Zip Chore coat I'm wearing.

is that natural indigo in the vat? Those big bubbly masses on the surface look like the "flower" in natural vats
It's not natural indigo, but synthetic "pure indigo" which produces the same "flower"
@@NakedandFamousDenim fascinating! thanks :)
When are we gonna get new variations of the strong guys?😭
Maybe next year.
I just hope that I don’t oversleep and miss it!
What kind of twill ? RHT or LHT
If they don't specify, then I'd say right. Pause on a close up and see.

Love the MIJ line but i don't like the twist. Hoping for broken twill in the future
Oh yes, we will add a broken twill to the MIJ at some point.
I’m between 36.5-37 in waist. These comes in 36 or 38 in the true guy. Should I size up?
I’d check the measurements on their site, but I’d size up if you have to. You can always wash with warm water to shrink them down to size

The Art Of Greencast Denim: Introducing The MIJ12 Aomidori Selvedge . it says MIJ12 here .. correction ise needed I believe
But it is the MIJ12
My MIJ 13 Kuro is a little lonely. I think I found the perfect partner.

wish you guys still made low rise :(
Super Guy feels pretty low on me.
He said super guy right? How do you feel comfortable wearing hip huggers? I'm 32" waist and I need an 11.5 rise in front at least...
@@MaxOverload1 I've never tried super guy. I like to let the boys have some room.
