Hi I have some questions, my orthodontist just applied a bracket onto the exposed tooth today and is trying to bring it down. How do I clean the area effectively as it’s hard to see what I’m doing, am I able to use my electric toothbrush to clean the tooth or do I have to continue using a soft baby toothbrush? Also I wanted to know the impacts of vaping during this stage. I’ve been vaping regularly with my braces for about 6 months and have been vaping right before my surgery to expose my impacted canine and have seen no massive issues other than occasional bleeding gums (it’s an addiction lol) but my 4mm front gap closed within 2 months and other gaps have closed very quickly despite using nicotine a lot. I have currently stopped for 2 weeks but if I ever relapse, will this drastically impact the progress of the exposed canine?

What was that yellow piece that fell out when you put the neon air blower tube up to the impacted tooth? Also I’m 37 now.. and over the last year I notice I was getting food caught in my front teeth on top and I just thought it was because I have a small pallet.. but then I started investigating it more and realized it was my recessed canine tooth coming in!!!! S An now I’m constantly getting food stuck in it, there was a whole month back in like feb where it was so painful to the touch I guess while it was coming in. But back story… I have trigeminal neuralgia… that was stemmed from a wisdom tooth remov Al gone wrong.. I had super impacted bottom molars. And I had nerve endings wrapped around around one of the teeth supposedly.. the recovery process was hard on me.. I was so sick sweating severe severe severe pain!! The oral surgeon kept denying any wrong doing and kept me in pain killers and high doses of antibiotics and then one day his receptionist called and said they were dropping me due to me not having a break or infection… that happened April 2nd 2013 so I have been living with this disease since then.. it’s been really painful and said.. I tried to unalive my self several times because of the pain… it still hinders me to this day .. and I also suffer from migraines, and having double joints on each side of my jaw… and I tried to go to physical therapy but it put me in bed for two months and that’s when I decided I couldn’t take living like that anymore… anyways… I’m just looking for some kind of help or advice I don’t have dental insurance. I have good health insurance because I’m Native American (registered) but I need oral/dental/orafacial help badly… please I would love some advice because now this impacted canine is causing allot of issues (food constantly getting stuck causing pain, tenderness etc…) I want to live and I want to solve this issues for once and for all…

Hi Doc, What is the recommended amount of hydrogen peroxide for mouthwash and how frequently should it be used? Is it safe for me to use considering I have mental braces and underwent the removal of four premolars a month ago?
Ma'am , I have an impacted canine with pericoronal follicle is 1cmm. Oral surgeon suggests extraction of both tooth and follicle, however orthodontist suggests marsupialisation followed by traction using braces. What should I do ? Please be kind to respond...I will have to decide within a week and next year I have a medical entrance exam.

I had to have this done when I was 14 years old. I'm 17 now and still have braces (omfg it's been a crazy journey) I still had my baby tooth at 14 and it had a fully intact root and had to be pulled out (along with my wisdom teeth, because my mouth is far too small to accommodate them, and I've even been told that removing more teeth would be beneficial). My teeth are partially embedded in the gum at the back of my mouth). The eye tooth/canine was 10mm deep or something, I'm not sure, they just said 10mm and that it was twice as deep as they normally could perform. I had all of my teeth pulled and the roof of my mouth torn apart at the same time (thank goodness I was sedated). My teeth refused to come out, so I had to have my mouth filled with bone cement. My entire mouth was in stitches, and I later had a problem with my wisdom teeth. I didn't have dry pockets, but rather random moist pockets from which I had to flush all this disgusting gunk out on a regular basis throughout the day. My tooth with the newly placed bracket was being pulled down with a gold chain, and I had a white flap of the roof of my mouth hanging down and dying. It was an odd sensation, having all that pressure on a tooth I had no idea existed. The chain was then replaced with a zing string (what we call Zingos in Australia). My orthodontic treatment has been going on for a long time, and I'm beginning to think it will never end!

ask your dentist, the should be able to put some sort of composite material on the tooth (same colour as your teeth) and shape it to match your other teeth.
that's crazy, mine was about a year or so after having my top braces done. Then I had a surgery for it (removed wisdom teeth and the baby tooth that just didn't want to fucken come out) and now I've got my bottom braces and still going three years strong. I hope this nightmare ends soon lmao
