I think the big lessons to learn from the failed Murray and Botterill rebuilds is they were both done way too fast and collapsed. Adams had the courage to start over and do it right. It’s hard for fans to see it now, but when the current young players get older the Sabres are going to be awesome.
Sabres fans always blame the GM/organization for the playoff drought, but, in hindsight, they brought in a lot of talent. For me, the problem is that too many of their players lacked the character to see a turnaround through. O’Reilly, Kane, Eichel all quit on their coaches and the team early on. They poisoned the locker room, and Buffalo’s chances. Sure, they can go to a winning program and contribute, but they didn’t have what it takes to build something on their own.
It's funny. Just a few days ago, I started my Buffalo Sabres franchise, but since they have so many good prospects, I decided not to make any trades and see how good they sim throughout years. Only players I add to the team are my draft picks and that's all :)
In the next few weeks, could you do a NHL 25 wishlist? Would love to hear your thoughts about things you would like to see. Mine includes things like world juniors and rookie dev camp for be a pro, winter classic mode, moments mode (from 14) etc.
Oilers picks that turned into very good prospects ( LANE HUTSON) in the Kulak trade ( BROCK FABER ) in the Athanasiou trade then the wings traded it to the Kings 👍🏼
It was never about trading out why they missed the playoffs for 13 years. It was bad player management with coaching, management and perhaps even ownership imo.
Personally, I don’t think traded draft picks are valid here. Sure, they had the picks that ended up being Maccelli, Kochetkov and Nikishin, however that doesn’t mean the Sabres would have picked them, just an incredible reach really
Hope you guys enjoyed the video! Do you think the REAL Sabres or the NO TRADE Sabres are better??
Every video is a W when it is by TacTixHD
Great Video idea. You should do it with other trades, etc. What about Hossa resigning in Pitt in 2008? after loosing in the 08 final to your Wings?
pls do one with Ottawa
I feel this as a lifelong Sabres fan. Hell, even thinking about what would have happened if we got McDavid instead of Eichel drives me crazy
That's true too. Hopefully McDavid wouldn't have demanded a trade lol
@@TacTixHD I figure the team would have been in a far better position and McDavid doesn't seem like the type to do that.
@@h0ckeyfan4312 he prolly would only sign short term not because buffalo was or is bad but because he wanted to play for a Canadian team
@@RJCamick that's fair. It's just a massive "what if" I'll never be able to stop thinking about lol
@@h0ckeyfan4312ik I'm happy for buffalo not falling into the arizona type of team
I think if you send Thompson back to St. Louis you gotta put O’Reilly back on Buffalo
He signed with Preds as a free agent so just left him there

This is a really fair point I think
100% compared to the career of someone like Steve Yzerman that had the humility to be a young captain and take 13 years to finally earn a cup.

Panthers catching strays in that Google search 💀💀💀
LMAO didn't even notice that
4:48 Seeing the team with the players they let go... Is insane. I predict they will make the playoffs and make it past the first round. Lets see 👀

I mean it's just for fun. Also with me not counting picks they traded for seemed fair as player pool would be quite small otherwise
Should do this with the oilers
Ty Buffalo for Maccelli
What’s the roster name?
Vasy Roster 9
Jake McCabe?
I mentioned in video pick used to take him was acquired via trade
What if bro didn’t upload a new Arizona franchise mode???
Wasn't zadorov drafted by Buffalo too?
