Now that is a STUNNING queue. The landscaping is absolutely gorgeous, the statues, the light fixtures, the music! The wrought iron detailing on the fences, everything. Absolutely stunning. Bravo Disney.
I love that the queue music seems dynamic and changes up the instruments depending on where in the queue you are. As much as I’m gonna miss the music box, I actually really like the new BGM.
I absolutely love the new que. The old will be missed for the nostalgia, but the new adds an extension to the magic that Mansion provides. I bet this will look spooky at dust and into the evening. Can't wait to see it at night!
as a gardener/horticulturist, this queue is STUNNING! i cant wait for the vines on the pergola/veranda to grow in and bloom. they are wisteria and will be ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS in the spring when they are covered in purple hanging blooms 😍😍😍 excellent nod to the old fastpass queue
How the imagineers are able to visualize and make use of limited space is simply brilliant. This queue already looks and feels like it has been part of the attraction since day 1. Bravo to all involved.
As a wheelchair user I love when the line becomes accessible. You miss so much of the pre show when you skip the line. Haunted Mansion was definitely one of the more awkward lines for wheelchair users, so I’m glad they’ve improved it.
I knew the queue would look good, I'm blown away with how well it came together. They really took a page out of Rolly Crump's book, and just bought weird, eclectic little knick knacks to fill the space and add detail. Stellar work
The safe looks like a Victorian era ship’s safe. Little nod to the old ship’s captain storyline in the early concept art for the Haunted Mansion. So many nods to the original storylines and Imagineers who made it possible. I think it’s even more beautiful at night and can’t wait until they finish the hillside with all the original tombstones!
OMG. Disney completely outdid itself with the queue. It looks absolutely amazing. I can't wait for my Peasant Pass to come back to form in January. Thank you for the video.
I noticed a couple of things not seen in Disneyland's Mansion before, referencing the Manors, 4:38 Monkey King Statue, (Mystic Manor) and in the concept artwork for the Gift Shop, 23:13 on a table next to a chair in the back behind two Candle Wax Men figurines is what looks like a bust of Henry Ravenswood. (The Phantom of Phantom Manor)
The Imagineers truly outdid themselves with this queue space. It looks like something that has been there since the HM was built. The addition of the music as you wait in line fits perfectly. I was there the last week of October when it was still virtual queue. Thank you for this video showing what we can look forward to enjoying for years to come.
🧑🍳💋!!!!! Absolutely beyond fenomenal!!! I was in tears watching you walk through the queue! I am very thankful that you Fresh Baked were the first one to show me around and not just once!! Thank you also for all your precise construction updates along the way too! Disney did an insane job here and it magnifies the queue visually and audibly by 1000 fold!!
I like how the new que feels very wondering through the grounds. The music gives that creepy vibe while also showcasing that famous tune. 4:0011:00 I love this look of the extended hallway in the gazebo! 22:55 now that looks like a cool shop! Definetly need to see the new que at night!
Great Job Freshbaked!!! I am ready to see what the new que looks like tonight. I think the Disney Imagineers got the que perfect. It feels so original. It was nice seeing you today!!! Freshbaked!!!!
Love the queue. Disneyland did an amazing job. I have no issue with the style of the gift shop as it looks like either the kitchen or a carriage house for the plantation. It would not have the ornamentation of the main house.
18:36 They definitely seemed to have pushed out the entrance from its original spot. A good reference point is that huge tree that they’ve kept that’s to the left as you enter the HM entrance. If you look back at old videos you can see that the tree used to be much farther away the main entrance.
It is an amazing new queue, but still reminds me so much of the gardens in Winchester Mystery House when I worked there during Fright Nights. Well done Disney on a beautiful update.
Was in the parks for the first time in 5 years last week! Thanks to your tips we got everything done and didn’t wait longer than 40 minutes for any ride! 😊
I have to say as someone who finds change very difficult, I am really impressed with what Disney imagers did with his queue. It’s not just plus, it’s Megaplex. I do have to say that I don’t care for this particular music during the Christmas season. It would be great for the regular part of the year. It reminds me a lot of the music for Disney World’s haunted mansion, but I can live with it. Thanks for taking the time to show us the queue twice.
what a goregous queue! as much as I love the holiday overlay, I can't wait for the full experience with the new queue going straight into the OG haunted mansion!
So happy and in love with the new queue from what I saw so far in the video, it looks absolutely amazing!!! I’m just sad I was right when I told everybody that Disney was lying when they said when Haunted Mansion Holiday reopened Stand-By Pirates of the Caribbean would lose its Lightning Lane and ofc they haven’t done that and they probably never will. 😢
I love, love, love the music in the queue. The new arrangement for “Grim Grinning Ghosts” is to die for. Pun intended. 😂 Thanks for sharing. I won’t get to see it in person until February.
I am very impressed with the queue, and the new music is so good!. The mausoleum in particular greatly exceeded my expectations. The style of detail is very similar to the treehouse, which makes me wonder if they have a team of Imagineers that solely works on Disneyland exclusive projects.
New Que looks incredible! I just hope they add more Haunted Mansion Holiday decorations next year in the new que area. Otherwise it won't feel as connected to the theme.
We went last night, and it's just as spectacular at night. In that inner courtyard with the tree in the middle, the globes you zoomed in on are actually lights. The full queue is wheelchair accessible, so it's quite a bit wider than the old line. I thought the wheelchair exit would be through the emergency exit in the middle of the entrance hallway (just after the stretching room), but it goes right out from the loading platform, through some OK themed but much too bright hallways, to the elevator. It's better story than riding the stretching room backwards, but could be so much better. It's probably also backstage area for cast to get around, so perhaps I'm expecting too much. Back to the queue, I love the various theming in the different areas. They all seem to fit. There's even a bit of kinetic energy going on as the train is visible from the queue. The area under that new canopy/pergola feels like you're in a train station and like it belongs there even though you're in the HM line. There was a distinct lack of holiday theming in the new spaces, but we'll have to see what next year holds.
The new queue is fabulous! It is luxurious and oh so haunted! At night it is gonna get spooky! Such a brilliant job! And... why IS that safe there? A locked entrance to another one of Laffite's tunnels? Oh, the mystery!
My best guess is that the safe is for a fire hose, it looks about the same size as one of those boxes you’d see in an apartment. The placement would make sense if it would be for the queue or perhaps the train station nearby?
I was wondering if that "safe" was a fancy crematorium, or furnace. I looked it up, and compost furnaces can be used to heat greenhouses apparently. That's my current guess. :) 14:18
The HM giftshop is definitely Home Depot/ she-shed-ish looking, but it's definitely a nod to Walt's Carolwood Barn at Griffith Park. The original has the same architecture, yet it's painted a reddish-brown barn color... it's too bad they couldn't have painted it exactly the same, it would have fit in perfectly with Critter Country! 😉 LOL! 😂
I love that it looks like it has been there the whole time, just seamlessly blending with the Mansion. Very exciting! I don’t remember if the queue used to go into the walkway as badly as Pirates always does, but either way, this should definitely help with crowd management.
They definitely pushed the front gate further out to allow for the new queue line to be accessible within the redesigned footprint of the ride. The overflow to the left of the entrance used to be the queue outside the ride.
It looked very plain from the outside but there is so much interesting detail inside. Well done! There's lots of neat statuary to look at. The plants are exquisite. Plus, the music really sets the mood.
Thanks for the preview - I can’t wait to be there in person in a couple weeks. I’d also LOVE to see the queue at night in the dark. Disney always does such a great job with their lighting, I suspect this new queue may be pretty special and almost worth the wait to see the environment around the next corner.
The old standby line went all over the place (going to the front, going to the back, going back and forth); This appears to be functionally better in that aspect by far, and I like that there are more things to look at while waiting. It is definitely an improvement.
I know exactly why the safe is in the garden! It’s a reference to the old story of the mansion, about captain gore, who was a former pirate who used his gold that he kept locked away in a safe to hide from his new wife, Priscilla. When she found out his past, he had to kill her, but her ghost haunted him for days and nights after, so he hung himself from the rafters in the stretching room. So, this is captain gore’s safe, and the lighthouse on it is a reference to his pirating days on the sea.
The plaque at 5:29 isn’t Madame Leota, it’s actually Medusa. It’s a fairly common way that she’s presented in Italy and even in the Sicilian flag like that.
Great job Disney! A lot of people don't go to Disney Parks because "THE AWFUL LINES." But if you make the lines -- queues -- thematic and intriguing and atmospheric, it makes standing in line all day sooooo much better (and makes guests want to come back!). It is money well spent. Imagine what a richly detailed and thematic Space Mountain queue could be like in the upper plaza and Starcade, or a prop and S.E.A. backstory-filled chalet-themed queue for Matterhorn, or a Pirates of the Caribbean queue that takes us up into Redd's apartment (in the 21 Royal space) where we see her treasures and artifacts and where she is writing her memoirs of a life at sea. Immersive queues are a great investment that pay off with decades of happy guests...and they get crowds out of the walkways, making the park *feel* less crowded (the "crowded feeling" being another reason some guests don't want to visit Disney Parks).

Thanks so much for taking us on this journey through the queue transformation of the Haunted Mansion, Dave! I'm so excited to be taken through it with you as it opens.
DAVID WE MUST SEE THIS AT NIGHT!!!!! with all the lighting
This is going to look even more gorgeous once the vegetation and trees have grown in.
Now that is a STUNNING queue. The landscaping is absolutely gorgeous, the statues, the light fixtures, the music! The wrought iron detailing on the fences, everything. Absolutely stunning. Bravo Disney.

I'm just glad so much of the original was preserved for this, while also expanding.

First a Kendrick Lamar album, then I get hired for a new job and now this just top off my week and it's only Tuesday!
Kendrick fans are really winning rn
Congrats on the new job!
@@Rrusso92 Thank you!

Awesome comment! 😉
I knew the queue would look good, I'm blown away with how well it came together. They really took a page out of Rolly Crump's book, and just bought weird, eclectic little knick knacks to fill the space and add detail. Stellar work
I agree but some pieces look hobby lobby. Too small and cheap looking
I love the changes. It’s like strolling through a lovely garden even though it’s a queue. Love all the details. Thanks David!😊
Also the "museum of the weird" vibe really came through and that's beautiful. 😅
The obsession with this queue is like the funniest, and weirdest, and best thing.
Agree 💯🤣
Haha right??
OMG. Disney completely outdid itself with the queue. It looks absolutely amazing.
I can't wait for my Peasant Pass to come back to form in January.
Thank you for the video.
LOL! 😆 Peasant Pass!!! 🤣🤣🤣
An upgrade I suppose, but it gives off Mediterranean/Italian vibes. Minus some gothic statuary, I feel like I’m walking into an Olive Garden.
Yeah, I’m gonna need an hour loop of that queue music in my life.
What a beautiful standby line! The music is perfect!! Thanks so much for uploading this!!

How badly do I want to sit and have tea in that gazebo area😅
@@terri_blueberri I was thinking the same thing and am taking notes for my garden. 😊
Your sincere enthusiasm is second to none, David. We appreciate you. 😊
First thing I did this morning was check and see if you had to get in a virtual queue for HM. STAND BY IS OPEN! 😁 Thanks for the tour, Fresh Baked!
Not gonna lie, I'm convinced everyone excited for this checked the app as soon as the park opened. I'm not even near the park and I checked it.
That new queue music is delightful!

Another massive success for Disneyland. It'll have another 'feeling' at night.
Ohh look at the lanterns in the tree! Can't wait to see the garden at night! Bet it's freaking amazing!

I think the safe is a nod to the first haunted mansion!!! where the butler hid the love letters to the owner of the mansion!!!
Plus it would make a great place to hide irrigation controls! Or Fountain!
The music has me melting omg, all the ways it changes as you move through the queue…literally perfect
Get a screen shot on Google maps now of the old queue so on the next mapping pass you can do a good side by side. This was a great video.
Great Job Freshbaked!!! I am ready to see what the new que looks like tonight. I think the Disney Imagineers got the que perfect. It feels so original. It was nice seeing you today!!! Freshbaked!!!!
Disney has made a lot of mistakes recently but this and the tree house are both amazing

The lattice work near the table & safe gives off the vibe of the endless corridor in the Manison.

omg how fabulous! i was worried with that oversized gift shop but they really did a good job on the new que!
Disney did a fantastic job. The music is great and the ambiance is perfect. It will be interesting to see it at night!
Looks like they did a great job. If my memory is correct, I think there was a Master Gracey tombstone at DLR before the refurb.
Magnolia Court actually being utilized as guest 'rest' space instead of que is a big success ..looks great too.
