"You know what...it doesn't matter" I would love to have a T shirt that says that. With of course a picture of a crowded pot of plants. Too cute. Thank you for sharing your ideas..
I’ve done the paper towel wicking in a cut milk gal. container. They have huge roots, and green shoots. I’ll be putting them for now, in a window box planter with composted soil. When it’s warm outside, I’ll transfer to totes. Thank you for showing me how.🙏
Always love seeing and listening to your hummingbirds 😍 I will have to get some organic garlic in a few months to start indoors to bring out by May. I will put some in containers and later I will put some right into the ground in June. Unfortunately the frost goes down about 4 feet minimum here 😔 so I'm not planting anything in my garden until mid to late June. I still have to cover the garden on some nights in June lol. Thanks for sharing. I'm anxious to try my solar fountain for the birdbath. I hope it works well as I'm sure my feathered friends will appreciate it. 😊 👍 Take care.
Hello, Robbie. My garlic plants are in the ground. They are overwintering well. Thank you and Gary for what you do for gardening. I am doing better in my tiny garden because of your system. Correction: not in the ground but in totes with the lettuce and greens.
Might you be able to share where you purchase the 2 gal buckets and are they numbered 1,2,4 or 5 and how much, thank you so much. Love your garden and the fact that it's colorful and you don't need to get down low to work it!
Thank you Robbie and Gary! Can you tell us again where are you sourced the colorful buckets and totes? I’ve looked back at your videos, and did Find the eBay link for the pink ones. I love all the colors you have, and would like to place orders for more. Thanks again!
I got most of them on Walmart, and I will be making a video on colored totes very soon, I got great info on them. I think the pink color for now may not be available, but I will keep checking. DO check with Walmart, they have lots of totes, Thanks!
Yes they do, on the bottom, he grow in ponds so he does not have to water the totes, being so wet on the bottom keeps the soil in the totes damp, even in the hot summer months.
My bulb from the store rooted so I planted them. Don’t they have to remain over winter though before l can harvest them? Also how do you store so much garlic?
Is that pool in a fully fenced-in area? I got a 17 gallon bucket/tote the kids are going to make a "pond" out of... solar fountain, a few plants etc and some corks to float for the bees 🐝... they asked if we could get 4 or 5 feeder goldfish(like the 8 cent tiny ones) but the area won't be fenced.... its deeper than wide... so as long as I have some plants and big rocks do you think that would be ok? I know there are critters around...(but we have never seen one that might try to eat a fish) but I am sure they are out there somewhere?
Mosquito fish are small, freshwater minnow-like fish. There's a guy named Paul Cuffaro, that has a video of him and his buddy pulling them out of Florida streams and cricks. They eat mosquito larva too, so that's great. Edit: spelling and punctuation D
Soooo im in upstate ny.. I have one certified California elephant garlic clove...kids put it in a jar and it has a 2 inch sprout... can I still put it outside? Or will it be to cold at night? Its freezing at night still... but wenhave a stretch of 40/50 days... it was in the drafty window next to outside... so its not in the HOT house...but def warmer than outside ? Any thoughts?
I am in zone 5b in NY. We plant garlic and shallots in the fall here and harvest in the summer. Elephant Garlic is a little different though because it’s not a true garlic-it is actually more closely related to leeks. Since you are in upstate NY, look up Fruition Seeds. They’re an organic farm in upstate NY. They are offering their growing garlic and shallots course for free right now. I found it really educational. Plus, they always welcome questions.
@@Nikki-mx5my that's me too! 5b... so do you think I could put this semi sprouted in now? While the ground is a LITTLE soft...and it make it? Or should I just keep it in my house as a plant :/ we have a few hardnecks we planted in the fall and I see their withered green tips poking out... its only like 5 cloves... not for sustenance but more of a can we get it to grow with the kids kinda thing...
Some of the most outer leaves may go yellow, but the long grassy leaves if you are in the USA should be growing green, be sure your plants get LOTS of full sun, but once the weather gets real hot, the tops will brown out and the bulbs can be harvested as needed.
Garlic is what is known as a “heavy feeder,” meaning it needs a lot of good, organic nutrients to grow well. If your garlic is close to harvesting, the leaves will turn brown and flop over. If your garlic still has a ways to go before harvesting and the leaves are turning yellow, most likely your plants are hungry and need more nutrients. Compost is your friend. :)

I hope so too! I bought too many, we now have SO many plants, LOL, but we are finding great places for them, they should grow for you too, take care
I have noticed I get better regrowth than when I purchased seed packs .
Does the package say California soft neck garlic? As always your videos provide useful information!! Thank you

Maybe I will one day, thanks!

Hi Robbie, lovely video as usual. A question though: do Gary's totes in the pond have holes in them?
Yes they do, on the bottom, he grow in ponds so he does not have to water the totes, being so wet on the bottom keeps the soil in the totes damp, even in the hot summer months.
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy has he had trouble with over watering?

What are mosquito fish, and where can I buy them? would they do well in florida?

Dave B answered your question great. Gary bought his at PetCo, the Fish stores do sell them too, many times as "feeder fish" for REAL cheap.

Two cents Lol Garlic & the other common alliums like the cool weather I've heard Light frost should okay
@@guerillagrace we may have several more hard frosts before we fully thaw the middle of.may?
Why don't you just put them out during the day and bring them in at night when it's cold?
