I know and agree. This format sucks. Its on old TV format. Nobody watches Shows on TV anymore. Everyone binge watches everything. So its better to think about other formats.

It can't just be dragons fighting each other non-stop. That would be boring and too expensive.
Yes, obviously not. Probably more slow pacing until the finale, just for the sake of it.
Of course it can't all be action scenes and dragons, but I'd like to see more intrigue and character building in a more interesting way. Daemon at harrenhal is being poorly handled and has been a waste of screen time so far, as has the insistence on repeating the "prince that was promised" storyline. I thought the action scene was really well done and all the interactions in the scene were well thought out, but it's not always been like that with the non action scenes.
The next time you'd probably see dragons in action would probably be during the Battle of the Gullet / or the introduction of the dragonseeds . I think that's a good way to end this season Jace dying in the gullet

Actually we might well enough see the other unclaimed dragons on Dragonstone with the Dragonseeds trying to claim them or the dragons being discussed by Rheineira and how they need riders. Also Cyraxes is shown being with Daemon threatening the river folk.
Also we might see Sunfyre being treated and transported together with Aegon II from the battlefield.
We will also see the head of Maelys being paraded through King's Landing.
Both Aegon and Rhaenyra are incompetent. So yeah.. a war just for the sake of two rival incompetent rulers. The realm bleeds. Their house weakened and then gone a century later. How unfortunate..

I feel like I'm starting to suffer from HOTD fatigue. I liked the first season more, because it felt like something was building and because we were just getting to know the characters, the slow pacing seemed to flow better. It felt like the story was being skilfully constructed.
Season 2 seems to have been going slow just for the sake of it so far. It's also not been expanding enough on certain characters. When Rhaenys died, I didn't feel particularly sad or gutted about it. She had a personality, but always seemed a bit disagreeable and like a side show character.
Compared to some of the GOT characters, the HOTD characters seem to be often missing complexity. We get lots of slow episodes, with lots of fancy dream sequences of Daemon and lots of female character scenes that constantly hint at a women's rights agenda in the background of the show. There's not enough character building and background.

I agree, we can just compare a character like oberyn, with much less screen time than Rhaenys it's still unforgettable. Or even lady Olenna, Hodor. Rhaenys character well buildt should be on a level as Rob or Ned Stark.
I get where you are coming from. To me the problem is not the slowness, but the purposelessness of the dialogues. The conversation between Alicent and Larys was dense and boring. It didn’t change anything, didn’t reveal anything, just two characters stating facts that the audience already knows (“the war will be fought, many will die, viserys liked to read blah blah”) and then Alicent asking the maester that question about Viserys’s wishes (as if we didn’t know already that she’s struggling with that thought).
The same can be said about the black council scenes (how many have we had in this season?), you can tell what every member is going to say before they say it.
Yes I agree and certainly know you mean about the Larys and Alicent scene. I thought it might be interesting and perhaps he would hint that he knew about the relationship between her and Cole. I thought perhaps he might hint at blackmailing Cole with the info, or might force alicent into some ''foot treatment" to keep him quiet. Maybe that'll happen in future, but the scene as it was seemed a bit pointless.

@@rohithkumar-cz2ec Sunfyre will never fly again. From now on, Sunfyre walks or should I say- crawls. Aegon is in not much better shape. Half of his body's skin is fused with the armor due to the cooking he endured from his brother's dragon.
I wonder if he will always have to wear the armor or will they manage to get him out of it. He will probably be two-faced. Half of his face burned or some shit.
Will be another bloody battle in this season or we have to wait until season 3

There is another bloody battle, but I doubt they will show it this season as there only 8 episodes instead of 10...If they include it, this season would be marvelous...the 4th episode itself was breathtaking...

Ofc Im for the blacks for the simple reason that they were the usurpers. Alicent is much worse c*nt in the books than she is in the show. The show paints her in a much more positive picture.
First and foremost, in the books, Viserys never uttered a word to her about The Song of Ice and fire and he never said to her that "Aegon - the prince who was promised". Viserys confused her with Rhaenyra on his deathbed and called out for Aegon his son probably to see him for the last time or something.
So, Alicent was certain Viserys never changed his mind about Rhaenyra in the books and also from the very start she set out for her son to replace Rhaenyra by naming him Aegon which was a provocative thing to do knowing well who Aegon was- the best known targaryen King.
Alicent was never friends with Rhaenyra actually and the atmosphere was always like it was during the Valerion succession trial between Rhanyra and the Greens.
It is clear, the Hightowers always had ambitions to put one of their own as the king. They flew too close to the sun and this is why in Game of Thrones we dont hear about them and they got totally overshadowed by the Lannisters and Tyrells.
Thanks to this war I think the HIghtowers lost a lot of influence in the court.
