I'm glad you ended up liking Ninth House- personally I ended up DNFing it because I really didn't like Alex's personality and I knew I would be stuck with her for multiple books and didn't want that commitment, but it was clear early on how well crafted the world and magic system was.
Ninth house is AMAZING and its sequel is coming out on January 10th and I'm already losing my mind. I just got my husband to read it and he was like "but where's the next one?"

I read two books from this list the diviners is amazing. I couldn't read book 2 during covid-19. Ninth House wasn't that terrible there is a certain scene I appericate. Book 2 is coming up in jan.

I read Ninth House after putting it off for an absolute fucking age and holy shit…all I have to say is WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG? In a way I am glad now as only have to wait until January to get the next book so I guess I did myself a favour really. I didn’t worship the book but there were a lot of wtf moments, a lot of why moments and then when it finished…Bitch no you can’t stop now! I really hope you end up liking it, I will carry on watching now x you’re amazing btw

So many people say that about Evie! I adore her and I will hear absolutely NO slander on Sam’s name. How DARE YOU! But the Evie stuff I understand. Throughout the series you understand that she is suffering from PTSD and using alcohol and frivolous behavior to cope. Which isn’t the best plan obviously but it makes her make so much more sense

Ignoring the Sam Lloyd SLANDER to say you may have convinced me to finally read Ninth House! Like you I've owned it since 2019. The Diviners is one of those books that is 10000x times better on audio. Legit one of the best audiobooks ever recorded. Like you haven't experienced fear until you've heard the Naughty John song in your dreams. Highly recommend picking up Lair of Dreams on audio as that one also has a creepy murder song lmao
"Ninth House" is the ONLY book I own 2 different editions. I devoured it in 2 days in late 2019. It's been so long & I KNOW I've forgotten quite a bit, but I'm gonna wait to re-read it closer to the release of "Hell Bent". Most fans of Bardugo who hate it, it is because is 180° degree opposite to her YA books. Not my problem, haven't read her YA stuff. Yes, she's much better writer than Sarah J Maas, but the fairy queen has hardcore fandom 😁. "The Diviners" is the weakest in the series, originally I rated 3.5 🌟, but all the other 3 books in the series were 5 🌟, so I rounded up to 4 🌟 the first one. You should continue with the series because it gets better and Evie less annoying. But don't wait long, you'll forget key info and those books are very long
I just want to say that I also LOVED Ninth House and ABSOLUTELY thought Alex was GAY AS FUCK as well.
