They were with Mariah from: 1991 - TO - 1999/2000!!!!!

Niki, Donna and Christopher were a huge part of the magic that created Madonna's live performances and recordings. Once they left (and Patrick Leonard's brilliant songwriting skills and pop hits), so did the magic formula. Madonna would do well to bring them all back, because she's been lost ever since. Her core fanbase will always support her, but artistically, she is of the past and has been replaced by the new crop of pop queens. She had her time, and a time it was.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Madonna and have been a fan of hers since the very beginning. I also realize these two beautiful talented women don’t need her for their success. However, if M threw some clothes on and put together a show with these two singing all of her hits from the 80’s, 90’s, and early 2000’s it would easily become the best tour in all of history.
That won't happen; remember the Diana tour with former Supremes members in 2000?

@@tysonb3568 both of these ladies had tried and failed solo careers before finding fame as Madonna's background singers. If it weren't for Madonna we would not even be speaking about them. I am glad both ladies are doing well and I love their voices but they needed Madonna to get the acclaim they currently have. That is the truth.

Ohhh memories.. Those 2 beautiful ladies were the PERFECT match to the music of Madonna! I could've never imagined anyone else giving such wings to Madonna's songs live (and also in studio)!
But it's really strange to see and hear them perform M's songs without her.. Makes me sad! I'm still holding a grudge for Nikki bailing on Madonna since the RIT.. No offense, but Nikki has always been a little odd and weird, came through a bit jealous, it's just been my impression 🤷🏻♂️ I never got such vibes from Donna, such an angel!⭐
But still - those two beautiful singers gave us sublime musical moments and made Madonna's songs sound so iconic!!! And we're forever grateful!

Niki didn't bail she never got the call for the tour. It's really sad because she and M were friends since they toured in 1987. But Niki said that she started to feel really uncomfortable at Ms house because there were Kabalah people there constantly, even screening her phone calls. Niki said she would call and someone she knew wasn't staff said M was unavailable. So she talked about her in some TV interviews and she was then cast out from the usual touring crew. She has spoken nothing but praise for M over the last few years, so hopefully a reconciliation my might happen. Even if they could hook up as friends because I bet they used to have some hoots just hanging out because I believe Niki doesn't care that she is "Madonna" just Mo! ❤️❤️🌈🌈

It wasn’t that Madonna chose not to continue hiring them for her tours. It was Niki and Donna that chose to stop. Touring with Madonna is grueling. And while Madonna may be a General that keeps going, these gals were done with that and wanted to do other things. Madonna’s tours are physically demanding night after night.

True story!! "Rain" is my all time favorite Madonna song and the live version with those two brilliant vocalists is GOLD! The GS is indeed mesmerizing in so many ways but mostly by the sound of Madonna's voice - so raw, so deep, so pure and so powerful! Of course with the unique help of those two!🤩🤩🤩

@@nathanbradleyf777 Yeah, that's what I said - her voice in the GS was so capturing, really gorgeous, extremely authentic!! BUT - after the Evita training she was able to do more with it! It became more tender, yet more powerful, got a bigger range, an even more beautiful color!
I know, what you mean, I miss her sound, her live voice from MTV VMA 89's Express yourself and the GS too, but I don't think, she could've kept it for so long, she had the go further and have an evolution of her voice!

The difference is they are singers and dancers - complete performers. Not saying that is better by any means - but they are a different breed to most backing singers who are focused on being behind a mic stand, with maybe the occasional centre stage moment (e.g. Adele's backing singers). Equally valid, just two very different types!

Why why does Madonna not create a new album and slow it down with these 2 treasure of women, Niki & Donna? Instead, Madonna is running around dressing like a tragedy of Dita from the 90s. It is now a Lil cringing and actually sad seeing what Madonna has evolved into in the 2020s. She just can't accept age and Grace. And go with being a classy legend. She actually CAN sing: her extensive voice training during "Evita" is proof of that. They gave her live vocals the support she needed, just as Patrick Leonard gave her pop hits the soul she needed. Without all of them, she has never been the same. She's become the old lady trying to stay hip.
