    That’s a water cistern in the end. It was kept below grade for filling operations as there would’ve been a hand pump on top. It was used for daily washing but also drinking, that’s why it’s lined with brick so there’s no cross contamination from metals.

    • @Liescomefromtheright
      @Liescomefromtheright 5 месяцев назад

      That isn't a cistern. It's a salt water battery slash hydrogen extractor. The salt water was allowed to flow in and be purified. The natural salt content allows for electrolysis of the water. The electricity needed was produced from the aether gathered from the dome with the spire at the top. That sphere was or may still be filled with mercury. The rest of the tech has been since been removed. The water that remains after electrolysis can be further separated into monoatomic hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen was used for refueling air ships that would dock at the top. The winding winch was used for stabilizing the tail end, so it had two points of contact with the tower at all times.

    I am not sure about the Bird Guard Pro, but I was at the VW Glaserne Manufaktur in Dresden, Germany years ago. The factory building was all glass, and they had a ton of bird strikes for a while. Because of this, the factory installed speakers that emitted predatory bird sounds that would scare the local birds away. Bird strikes pretty much ended after the installation, so I am assuming the Bird Guard would do the same thing. Maybe? Loving the videos!

    When I was an active duty Coast Guard member I had been sent to assess whether the Cape Mendocino Light could be disassembled and moved. White lead paint is a great preservative for iron and steel. Every nut I tried turned, every bolt except the countersunk ones that went through the floor into the concrete foundation also turned. @4:28 We use those Bird Guard systems at my work. The calls are recordings of predator birds, and it is meant to keep other birds from nesting or collecting at an area. We have open rail car doors and birds like to fly in and land, roost, nest on top of our large rolls of paper and per our food and safety guidelines, we have to have those installed. You may find it helpful, as long as the recorded calls are natural predators of the other foul that congregate on the lighthouse.
    I hope that helps.

    Bird Gard Pro works good for repelling Osprey and Seagulls. Just set it for the predator call that goes after the birds you are wanting to repel. They are very annoying, so you may want to turn it off when you are out their doing your maintenance. Just turn it on when you live. FYI for those of you who do not now. In the old days before solar the light houses used to be powered by sea water. The light house would rotate and flash a signal though being powered by sea water. It worked by electrolysis. Most light houses were powered that way all through the 70's into the early 80's when the US Coast Guard started converting them over to solar power. The light was stationary the lens around it would rotate flashing the beacon while the back of the lens was a radar reflector and would show up on a ship or boats navigational radar screen. As a steady pulse "flash". Their was also an air powered fog horn that would sound during inclement weather that had some kind of timing device. One last thing rainwater was used to cool down the electrical transformer so it would not overheat. PS the pipe that you said someone stuffed in the other pipe is the Anode that produces the electricity for the lighthouse.

    The battery diagram early in the video showed a series setup, not parallel. Parallel is where the positives are connected together and the negatives are connected together, providing 12v but more mAH. The picture would be a 24v system that is series with the same mAH as a single 12v battery from the system.

    Seeing as how that extra little basin is in what appears to be a store room for provisions, perhaps it was intended to be a holding tank for potable water with a pitcher pump on top, bolted to the flange. I cant imagine they were drinking the raw rainwater out of the main cisterns. Maybe they would boil the rainwater to sanitize it then dump it down into their drinking water basin.

    • @VickyGeagan

      Your close that is an unmanned light house. The beacon light and rotating lens was powered by sea water. By electrolysis. Their was an anode that produced the electricity that had to be replaced occasionally. The Coast Guard would keep spare parts such as spare light bulbs and rotator parts. In case of part failure they could quickly replace it. Their was also a large transformer and capacitors used to convert the DC current to AC to power everything. Rain water was used to cool the power systems electrical transformer. Also their were air powered horns mounted on the outside for use in inclement weather.
