Always loved the way Jack looking to the chanting crowd with pride in this scene is also supposed to be him looking at his killer and accepting his fate. I love this show.
“Hey, it's, uh, it's me. I'm about to go do something…well, I'm about to go be me. You know better than anybody that doesn't always go so well. I don't know how this is gonna go, but if I were a betting man, Matty's gonna need you. More than ever. Look after him, okay? And I know what I'm asking here, but he's a good kid. He sure as hell didn't get that from me. So it's better this way. Just once, I want Matty to hear people cheer for his old man. Just once.“
couldnt agree more - show the struggle he had to keep matt away from the bad side of the world and his boxing career being broken down by mobsters even though hes excellent.
TheCandymusiclover That's exactly what I was thinking when it first came out, I want to see all of his runs with Rosco and his thugs if he had to do dirty work for them like he has in other iterations. He's also just a great flawed yet relatable character.
Yeah the actor gave a fantastic, totally convincing, moving performance. Young Matt was wonderful too the whole way through, and the two of them worked really well as father and son. Both actors should be proud.
This was a tremendous scene at the end of season 2 with this music, Karen writing about being a hero, Matt Murdock walking to his office to tell Karen he is Daredevil and Frank Castle putting closure to his home by blowing it up and starting his journey to find his family's killer as the Punisher. Just great editing. The biggest crime is friggin Netflix cancelling these shows. We need to see more Daredevil seasons and Punisher seasons!!!
well i hope disney isn't gonna ruin the character we all love. i do think some marvel character is better when it's not actually with marvel. sony made perfect spider-man movies, and netflix made perfect shows
“What is it, to be a hero? Look in the mirror and you'll know. Look into your own eyes and tell me you are not heroic, that you have not endured, or suffered... or lost the things you care about most. And yet, here you are... a survivor of Hell's Kitchen... the hottest place anyone's ever known. A place where cowards don't last long. So... you must be a hero. We all are. Some more than others, but none of us alone. Some bloody their fists trying to keep the Kitchen safe. Others bloody the streets in the hope they can stop the tide, the crime, the cruelty... the disregard for human life all around them. But this is Hell's Kitchen. Angel or Devil, rich or poor, young or old, you live here. You didn't choose this town. It chose you. Because a hero isn't someone who lives above us, keeping us safe. A hero's not a God or an idea. A hero lives here on the street, among us, with us. Always here, but rarely recognized. Look in the mirror and see yourself for what you truly are. You're a New Yorker. You are a hero. This is your Hell's Kitchen. Welcome home.“
1:15 onwards: “Murdock lands another and another! Creel is rocked! Murdock won't let him out if the corner! The younger Creel seems stunned by the ferocious display by the more seasoned Murdock! Creel goes down! He's not getting up! It's over! “Battlin'” Jack Murdock has defeated Crusher Creel!
"I'm thinking my boy it's out there in the audience-- and I'm thinking about how I told him one thing worth a damn-- I told him to never give up, *Never*. It's time I showed him his dad may be a loser... but he's no quitter"
This music MUST HAD BE used in other scenes, like when the daredevil rescues the little boy, in this episody. It is a very strong identification element that identifies him and his father, the trully heritage received from him. Please, Paesano, think about this!
I couldn't watch the rest of the show after this scene. Jack Murdock walked to his death, knowing what was going to happen, but he had already accepted it. Nothing else in the series could be better than that.
Does anybody know about the solo piano soundtrack playing in the background when Jack says “Just once, I want matty to hear people cheer for his old man, just once” I looked everywhere I can’t seem to find it :(

"Our son is too much like you, Jack"
The reaction of matt's dad when the crowd shouting his name is priceless
It's so powerful. Beautiful and heartbreaking. The dignity of the human spirit. Wonderful job by the actor, and this amazing music makes it.
I cried way more than I'd like to admit over Jack Murdock's death...
I feel you, mate.

It would be nice to get a mini-series of Jack & Matt before he died. I really connected with Jack Murdock's story, and the actor did a damn good job!

They actors did a great job but it doesn’t really justify a miniseries
Not everything needs to be made into its own show
