  • Del wears two C-Braces, a custom knee-ankle-foot orthosis (KAFO), that keep him stable and secure. Because of a spinal injury, he has lost much of his mobility -- because of weakened muscles in his legs, which reduced his stability and stamina. With a 10-year-old daughter, he needs as much stability and stamina as possible!
Without the C-Brace orthotronic mobility system (a very unique computer-controlled brace) Del would use his upper body strength to walk using canes or crutches. About 90% of his power would come from his arm and shoulder muscles. With C-Brace, he walks more normally, relying on the C-Brace to keep his knees solid and to use his lower body to power his motion. Now he can handle an all-day school field trip, or navigating a classic-car show outdoors. Learn more online: bit.ly/2aOABFN
