If you head down there, oo35mm is apparently a great place to pick up Asian sunscreens like Biore Japan. One thing to remember: as great as the deals may be, it's still going to be cheaper to order from YesStyle (or a few other online shops). But you get the ability to see things in person, swatch makeup, etc, if you go into the stores, and that plus IMMEDIATE makes up the cost difference for me.

Just came back from Korea... this exact scenario happened to me lol. My wife was shook. One luggage bag was dedicated to 'discounted' products I didn't realize I needed
She went from spending 36 dollar to 50 on products she doesn’t need. While it may seem like a really good deal. I worked retail ( a life time ago) long enough to know that it’s not. The products are worth far less than they are priced. They also use tactics like making stuff with less quantity expensive vs stuff with quantities that no one could ever possibly use up seem cheap. It’s like Walmart and Pain Meds. The Name Brand cost a lot for 24 pills while Walmart Brand has like 200 pills in two bottles that are the same price. It is the clerks job to upsell the other products using “promotions” to make the consumer to think they are saving money. But in reality, they want you to spend more than you originally planned.
I mean i get your point but if ten face masks were 36$ because the other ten were free, then all that cleaner, serum, wrinkles stuff, sunscreen, premium pack, samples and the gift bag were only 14$ combined. Which in the original price is only like 3 face masks? So that doesn't seem bad really. Can't imagine just sunscreen and cleanser is worth less than three face masks.
The “Name brand VS House brand” thing is depends on the country. It’s might be true in Walmart case. But in some countries (especially the poorer ones), the cheaper House brands are actually worse. It’s genuinely you get what you pay for situation. I guess depends on customers behavior, they are more price sensitive.
Yup. I was an Esthetician at a Franchised Spa. They wanted us to upsell while doing a facial which was so tacky and against the whole ethos of providing a relaxing treatment. Then they want you to sell products at the end of the service which they teach you to do in school as part of your income and to encourage better skincare for the clients. So a client books a service, pays for it, tips because that's customary here in the US and then may or may not be upsold during a facial or treatment, and encouraged to buy product at the end of the service and re book for a later date. It's never just cut and dry one fee. That's with majority of the beauty service industry. That's part of their job to make money and make as much as possible off you.
I know this is beside the point but it's mad you can get pain Meds in so many in a bottle. In the UK you can only ever buy 2 small packs of pills unless specifically prescribed by a Dr. It's to stop people overdosing. Sure, they could go to multiple shops but hopefully that added time is enough to save a life 🤷♀️. You couldn't just go into a local shop and get 200 painkillers in one go!
It’s funny because it’s true. My first time in Korea we ended up buying a suitcase to fit all the extra skincare! 😂 All I needed was lip balm to replace the one I’d lost on the bus. 😂😂😂 Learned my lesson!

Keep some extra for yourself, and set the rest aside for presents, or to donate to people in need. The only time spending a certain amount to get a reward is worth it is if you were planning to spend around that much money in the first place, and the reward is worth it. Otherwise, you're better off ignoring these kind of promotions. They're obviously designed to make you spend more money, but if you don't have the extra money, you can end up broke with a bunch of things you don't need. Wait until you can make one larger purchase of several things you actually need, so you can properly take advantage of the promotion.
It depends really on how you go about it. I went today to buy my favorite ice tea. I was about to take a box of 10 and look at there! 40% discount on exactly the product I use all the time anyway and that doesn't turn bad too fast! So I got 3x10 instead and stock up.
Yup. When I went to Korea I spent 60% of the time shopping for face stuff. Filled my whole luggage with free samples. Got so many free mask that I end up using it everyday in exchange for my night cream. There are no where to fit in the luggage!!
I love these kbeauty stores because of the freebies automatically. At Sephora you need to ask for them. One time I was trying to find a specific make up with Gudetama (my favorite character)on them. They had them: the colors are so pretty!
Yeah right?! Like pulling teeth!! Come on! Give me. They're for customers!! Are you hoarding for yourselves? (That's what I think they take for themselves).
I also loved how you would get lured in with face masks samples lmao I still have a bag full of them even after 4 years after living there for a while💜
To be fair I fell in love with Korean cosmetics shops and products and the staff was so nice and recommended awesome stuff that I loved. It's so easy and inviting (a bit too inviting, my poor wallet and travel luggage)
YES 🙌 that's me in a Korean Beauty Shop. I am all about skincare. It's also why I have a giant suitcase dedicated to just my beauty products when I travel.
This is LITERALLY me an Indian, in The Body Shop store for "natural chemical free" stuff with my first salary! Never did I EVER go back. They don't even HAVE chemical free. Juniors in my team couldn't stop rofl "₹200 ka loofa, 20p rupay ka loofa". I still have it after 10 years but...yeah NEVER EVER going back.

I wish in my country would be something like this. I totally would be glad to spend money like this. I`m always looking for sales because that`s the only way I can by something expensive.
So true, every beauty store in Flushing are like this. I shop there more than I do in Sephora and Ulta. So many products for cheap prices, seriously good quality too
The struggle is real!! On the bright side, I've discovered an enjoyment of building beauty/skincare gift bags from my obscenely ample supplies (mostly Korean products)!
Pretty much exactly what my experience was in Olive Young. I was just getting masks for coworkers as gifts... Now I'm addicted to skincare I can only buy online. :'(
What do u mean the samples aren't for free I usually don't get more than they tell me but I don't understand the tactic. If I got something and they are giving some for free thts fine not more than tht. And so no thank you I really didn't know they did tht though.
lmao this is why my family doesnt let me go to the mall and other such places alone... I once ended up trapped in a salon for like over an hour because this guy was trying to sell me all these skin products.... I had to meet my sister and cousin and they were like three stores down at the food court waiting. Eventually I got away, but they were like, about to pull a rescue operation to break me out, I was stuck. Man really knew how to side-step my polite attempts to leave. :|
Been there, done that! I was even told, when you hit 400 bucks, we will ship it to you so that you don't need to lug it back. OK! I'M SOLD! I ended up spending 600 bucks in just one store. sigh~~~
the only thing that helps me stop over buying is remembering that i can't use all of them before expiration date, whenever i had my attempts my mind whispers "ekspayreyshuuunn~"
It is actually a great deal. Buying Korean skincare overseas 5 products already get u close to $100 and no samples. Uh! I tried out Olive Young bought 2 packages over $170 with no samples.
There's an old rule to go by when you are in retail (and really all service based businesses where selling anything is involved is just a form of retail when it comes down to it.) It's, make certain your customers or clients enjoy spending their money with you and it will be a success.
I saw this when I went there back in 2016. They even give away entire sets of hand creams and skincare. If you’re using their products and are planning to use them for a longer time it’s a great deal. Because those things costs 50% more to sometimes more than double back home.
The last time I went to Korea we bought so much we came back with an extra luggage bag that came free with our purchases, which we then used to fill with our purchases. It was insane. We had masks for life. 🤣🤣

I would just get refills and back ups of my fave products.
That “oh” at the end hurt my soul ❤
Bahahaha tbh I wouldn’t be that sad 😂
Love your videos you always bring a smile to my face ❤❤
My mood booster is back,,😂😂😂🙏🏾🖤🔥
I love these kbeauty stores because of the freebies automatically.
(That's what I think they take for themselves).
can’t we appreciate her trying to reply and like all the comments jeenie you have my respect
I also loved how you would get lured in with face masks samples lmao
I still have a bag full of them even after 4 years after living there for a while💜
To be fair I fell in love with Korean cosmetics shops and products and the staff was so nice and recommended awesome stuff that I loved.
I still have it after 10 years but...yeah NEVER EVER going back.
relate!! and it's not only one store, almost all shops along myeongdong have the same promo so you'll end up buying a lot of items from at least 10 shops...i wanna go back to korea huhu
50% is 50 dollars
Yep
People here saying she got scammed just suck at math 😂
early! also love ur vids!
I wish in my country would be something like this. I totally would be glad to spend money like this. I`m always looking for sales because that`s the only way I can by something expensive.
So true, every beauty store in Flushing are like this. I shop there more than I do in Sephora and Ulta. So many products for cheap prices, seriously good quality too
Right you are! 😂
But on the other hand.. who want to miss out on a great deal! 🎉 says I with 25 boxes of JmSolution face masks! 😂🙄
To be fair at least it is Korean beauty treatment. If any country knows their stuff it’s them with beauty.
The struggle is real!! On the bright side, I've discovered an enjoyment of building beauty/skincare gift bags from my obscenely ample supplies (mostly Korean products)!
Even if it’s a trick for you to buy more, I still think it’s a win since they recommend good stuff and for cheaper
WHEN I THINK OF THE TIME THEY SCAMMED ME LIKE THAT TOO😨😩( But i wast in korea)
That is so true. I was in Korea in September and that happened to me lol. I am going back in March
The cashier always has soooooo much enthusiam🤣
The "ooh" at the end when you realize you've been bushwaggled 😂😂
Really sis u always make us laugh 😂😂
All the best for u for future 🔮
Lots of LOVE ❤❤❤❤ fm 🇮🇳 INDIA 🇮🇳
Pretty much exactly what my experience was in Olive Young. I was just getting masks for coworkers as gifts... Now I'm addicted to skincare I can only buy online. :'(
I'd still buy them these are so terrifyingly good
This is called pro level marketing
Those sample’s aren’t free. You paid for them 😂😂😂
What do u mean the samples aren't for free I usually don't get more than they tell me but I don't understand the tactic. If I got something and they are giving some for free thts fine not more than tht. And so no thank you I really didn't know they did tht though.
This is me every time I go to Face Shop in San Francisco.
This is me! But I’m never disappointed that I bought more haha. I’m always super happy bc of all the free samples. They last me quite a long time~
Like, YOUR SKIN IS AMAZING!!
I love Jeenie Weenie!
Funny, but true.
Jeenie looks so pretty here tho 😭 like I was truly mesmerized!!
That store clerk is getting a promotion lol
lmao this is why my family doesnt let me go to the mall and other such places alone...
Lmao I love the mall so much yet my family barely goes 😭 my parents say I’m dangerous when it comes to money 🌚🌚
Been there, done that! I was even told, when you hit 400 bucks, we will ship it to you so that you don't need to lug it back. OK! I'M SOLD! I ended up spending 600 bucks in just one store. sigh~~~
This is true in Taiwan too, and the salesperson/employee would watch and follow you around as you shop too😭😭
the only thing that helps me stop over buying is remembering that i can't use all of them before expiration date, whenever i had my attempts my mind whispers "ekspayreyshuuunn~"
Bro so true like they just make u send extra money even though u dont even need the product
Btw great vid jeenie ❤
This is so accurate. The upsale is an art.
Oh I would be in heaven. Jennie your smile always brings a smile in my face thank you
Ouch !! Ouchie!!!
Cool✨
It is actually a great deal. Buying Korean skincare overseas 5 products already get u close to $100 and no samples. Uh! I tried out Olive Young bought 2 packages over $170 with no samples.
There's an old rule to go by when you are in retail (and really all service based businesses where selling anything is involved is just a form of retail when it comes down to it.)
It's, make certain your customers or clients enjoy spending their money with you and it will be a success.
Wait, wouldn't the face masks have come to $36 anyways? So for $14 more she got a lot more mass.
Haha 😂
omg if you don't know Yves Rocher it's a french beauty shop and IT'S SAME OMGGG
I saw this when I went there back in 2016. They even give away entire sets of hand creams and skincare. If you’re using their products and are planning to use them for a longer time it’s a great deal. Because those things costs 50% more to sometimes more than double back home.
Second lysm❤❤ ur a big inspiration to me!!
The last time I went to Korea we bought so much we came back with an extra luggage bag that came free with our purchases, which we then used to fill with our purchases. It was insane. We had masks for life. 🤣🤣
These deals sounded so fricking good, now I wish I was in that store. And ngl it's pretty expensive but they sounded like a good deal !
Girl maths 💅🏼😂😂
Nice
This is why I did delivery business for my friends who don’t live in Korea.
I essentially made them pay for my shopping trip. I got the extra stuffs while getting money from them.
Sell the stuffs at the normal price even if you get the promos. It works wonders.
FRRRR THEY ARE DANGEROUSLY ADDICTIVE-
Korean beauty supply stores see me as an easy target. Theyre not wrong, I am a sucker for it. But their products are just so amazing!
Brain wash 🤣🤣
Okay, so i am so early
Love yaa🥰
Pls pin me🙏
Love from India sisoo
When you go to these shops, always take the exact amount if money you want to spend. This will help you avoid overspending. :)
Honestly, that's a good decision. I'd be super happy after making that purchase.
Yes it was a good deal but she didn't need all of that stuff she only needed 10 face masks but instead got 100 facemasks and a ton of other products so now probably she wont have enough space in her house😂😂😂❤
early
EARLY
I lived in S. Korea for 4 years I always bought 1 item or so and got a bag full of free samples including face masks. Same with makeup stores. 😁🛍🛍🛍
That store clerk is an expert in business...
Hi I’m first
Hi, no one cares
Reminds me of the time I was really into a nearby perfumery because of the service. Went there with all my female friends and they all spend over 250€ but got bags and other free stuff. Seeing this video reminds me why I don't go there anymore 🤣
They do that here in America too. Ulta, Sephora, etc.... they'll get you every time!
yes that is absolutely spot on true. but not just beauty shops. there's a few other places like that too.
The grind never stops
Yep gets me every time .. i did ask the sales lady why wont you just sell me the whole store instead 😂🤣
this was actually my experience when i went to myeongdong… but korean skin care is still ❤
Your vid’s are spot on as usual lol
Korea has so many amazing products!
