Moriscos Underground: Al Armawi & Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra & Abir el Abed

Moriscos Underground is a special instalment of Andalus Voices (production of Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra). A successful musical voyage through many different styles of music that were influenced by the rich heritage of Al Andalus.
With Moriscos Undergound we look for music that was taken by Moriscos and spread around the world. El Armawi is a quartet that embodies the essence of Moriscos Underground. As head of the ensemble, Omar Metioui goes on a quest to find long lost pieces of music. He then tries to arrange the music by making use of instruments that are typical to that age. Enjoy this marvellous piece of history as well as a surprise visit by upcoming star Abir el Abed.
