I love that flag, I've always liked a Detroit diesel, you always have such a nice show, wish I could be there in person to see and hear your mill going
Not only is Eddie an hardwood expert he’s also an expert lumber stacker, gets all the wane on the inside of the stack, looks so pretty when all the edges are square 🧐😂
Worked at a fertilizer plant in the early 80s and you still could get pigtail shank toolbars brand new then disc sealers was new to the market alot better than paddle sealers
Nice sawing ,as usual. suggestion, maybe you can run a horn,12v or 110v, from the cab to the stackers/sorters, just if you need to get their attention. and when I had my circular mill,i made a conveyer from parts of an old thresher and had it run slow to remove the bits and chunks out back to a seperate pile. keep on the BOOM,
Mark: Stop by the local Ge neral Aviation airport, to a pilot's shop, and get a container of MEGUIRE'S glass cleaner. It is specially made for acrylic windshields. It has anti-static properties. Jon
When you do the edging cuts, Eddie puts them in another pile. Do those boards go to the customer from where the logs came from, or are those now your boards?
I noticed the 2 white buildings in the background do you guys share the property with other people and is there something on the other side of the wall by the log deck
The fire pit for warming hands,, conviviality,, may burn sawdust as well. In a shop woodstove years ago, once there was the initial bed of coals I could just shovel in sawdust to full. Burned slow , even, made good long term heat. AND got rid of the stuff. Shop woodstove,,, burning scraps and cutoffs off mostly very dry stuff. Moisture content,,,,, but if you already stack it i a shed and it does not begin combustion,,, should be dry enough.
Just curious as to why you use such a course saw blade? Wouldn't you get a better looking board with a finer tooth blade? Also why not run the largest diameter blade you have so you would be able to square up the logs sooner?
never heard of a 56" fine tooth blade , bigger is not better when running a sawmill , you need more power , more saw bits , more maintenance on the saw , more heating problems , more power to feed the carriage , the list keeps going so no on a bigger saw.
I was thinking, each time you get something from someone you like, ask us the ''base'', to share. When you watch a video, click on share, there are so many choices.
Marie a good video as always......when is the new edger from cook's. Arriving? Seen like forever since you told us about it keep same and happy regards from Manchester UK
Google says... "The static electricity charge can attract dirt and debris from the air and cause buildup. To reduce and eliminate static electricity buildup, use an anti-static cleaner for plastics with a soft cloth. This should neutralize the acrylic sheeting, and reduce the attraction of dirt."
Go to a picture, framing outfit and give them the measurements of your window , and get a antiglare picture glass .. yes, it may be spending probably well worth it . I have a good day. 👍 👊🤨 🪵
@@markgalicic7788 Hi Mark. It varies across South Africa. Some areas get below freezing and they have snow. In Cape Town it seldom goes below freezing (but gets close sometimes!). We only get snow on the surrounding mountains. However, if you factor in wind chill then it actually can get cold, since we have wind and rain during our winter in Cape Town.
@@davidvandyk466 Hi David. Yes we had quite a bit of rain overnight and we expect more tonight. The wind is picking up now, so I think it won't be too much longer.
Why not just dismantle your old washing machine, and use the stainless steel tub. With just a little bit of thought,it will work great, and its free..,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,..BOOM !!!
I love end credits with you all getting together at the edger, with nice music. Proves your insistence that you waste as little as possible. Nice video.
teacher said the center of the tree is call the pith. then he turned to elizabeth and said "elizabeth do you know what the pith is?" and she answered yeth thir.
I don't have a re-saw so I go out of my way to avoid cutting flitches. I notice you don't hesitate to cut a flitch... doesn't that just give you more work?
Thank you Mark thank you thank you Mark thank-yous easy thank you z z mark thank you Eddie thank you guys big-time I'm still in the rehabilitation place the good thing is the women are beautiful and the food is good besides that I want to be home
Since Eddie is a timber and hardwood expert, it would be nice to hear some commentary from him about how he grades boards, estimates prices, market value, and what not. Thanks ~! All the best ~!
nice too show how the end line of the production goes as well as just the cutting with the big Bus Drive engine getting the job done ... great station you guys run here, and it was nice to see a shout out to Mike Morgan. He is also my favorite station to watch as well ... Nicely Done Boys ... Nicely Done .. :)
Love your Bus engine, runs beautifully. I worked for a coach company 1976 to 1986 at Goodna an Ipswich suburb West of Brisbane Queensland Australia. They had V6 71s V8 71s and a V8 92, that was a noisy beast. We had very little trouble with them, very reliable. I rebuilt one V6 just rings, seals and gaskets was all it needed. Rebuilt one supercharger. We also had a 4 cylinder Nissan copy of the GM and it needed sorting out several times, cracked cylinder head more than once, drove overnight once to rescue it interstate, to change the supercharger, had forgotten my feeler gages and used a piece of Coke can, to get the clearances. Love your Chanel. You guys just keep turning logs into sawdust. Cheers Ted Lee
Good Evening from Lincolnshire UK.
good evening Andrew.
Always great to see the team, being a team. Good use of Multicam today.
Love the Detroit Diesel Sign. Another great sawing video. Thanks guys.
thanks Jerry.
Mark, great shots of the guys stacking and sorting the boards. I’ve been wanting to see that.
thanks Tom.
Good Evening from Mönchengladbach. 🇩🇪 Thanks for the link of the Firepit. We have a lot of used wood on our Construction zones.
good evening Roger , it is a great fire pit & built very strong.
Love the new camera view of all you boys working away👍

Hi Mark T.H.E. Eddie and of course ZZ Mark. Just wanted to make sure to say comment and As always good luck and God Bless and stay safe out there.
thanks Mark.
Holy Buckets...Eddie's got his apron on! Yay!
All is right in the world now.😀
Sawdust could be bound, compressed for fire logs too?
The Detroit Banner is awesome.

Hi Mark i like how you maximize the yield out of the log, Hi to Eddie and Zz.
thanks Sid.
I saw you getting the copper pot out of your truck and thought we were going to run some shine for a minute....lol
a few people said that lol.

Hooray for spring!! Some more nice wood. Any more news on the new edger?. Thanks for the video Mark, say hi to the guys. God bless
thanks Doug , not sure when the edger will get here.
Great job young man!
thanks Tim.
That first log looked like it ZZ Marks face on the end of it after the 4th cut.. lol
I will check it out.
Hi Terry, thanks for watching the movie! That 1st log did have an image on it once it landed on the log-bed, I saw it also!

Happy Birthday to ZZ Mark's MOM!
When you do the edging cuts, Eddie puts them in another pile.
Do those boards go to the customer from where the logs came from, or are those now your boards?
yes they go back to the finished pile after edging.
Like that fire pit
check it out flameinnovation.com/
Happy birthday 🎉🎉🎉
What jimmy powers the edger? Still thinking of a new edger?
yes but not sure when.
Good video Bus Motor Productions

Hi guys, great video. Question. What is that big building behind you on the hill, and do you know what that “crows nest “ is there for? Thanks.
thanks Brett , not sure on the big building , deer stand.
Nice new camera angles.
thanks Dean.
Mark when are you receiving the new edger from Cooks ? we have a solar kiln and it works ok. let the lumber air dry 8 months befor putting in.
not sure when the edger will be done , I had a solar kiln years ago and it worked great for me with the shop .
I noticed the 2 white buildings in the background do you guys share the property with other people and is there something on the other side of the wall by the log deck
yes we do share.
What is the longest log you could theoretically fit? Please keep sharing your video's.
21'.

Mark, is that your entire complex or is it an industrial park? Y
Marc did you buy this sawmill or did you build it?
I bought it and rebuilt most of it before it would saw.
Just curious as to why you use such a course saw blade? Wouldn't you get a better looking board with a finer tooth blade? Also why not run the largest diameter blade you have so you would be able to square up the logs sooner?

Oh Eddie where did that knot come from on that piece of wood that you just plained
In your trimming machine, are the blades regular saw blades or are they a special blades? 🤔😃
they are just like the big blade but 18" round.
I was thinking, each time you get something from someone you like, ask us the ''base'', to share. When you watch a video, click on share, there are so many choices.
that's a great point Artemus , I will say that on the next one.
Mark says, "People ask why I call it the 'pith' which is the heart-wood of the log. So I can say that I'm sawing the pith out of it!!! LOL
yes sir.
Smart man
whats the minimum log length would you prefer so everyone will know
5' is the shortest log I will saw.
Hey, Mark...your cab windows are dirty...jus' sayin' 😊
When is the new edger coming?
not sure hope soon.
What motor are you running the edger with?
a Leroi power unit 4 cylinder gas engine.
Marie a good video as always......when is the new edger from cook's. Arriving? Seen like forever since you told us about it keep same and happy regards from Manchester UK
Sorry mark predictive text that i didnt catch...... Lol
thanks Angela , not sure when but I told Robert from cooks that everyone asks about it.
Boom
yes sir Don , BOOM!
The end of that log looked like Z Z .
you are the second person to say that.
Hey Dik, thanks for watching the movie! When that 1st log landed on the deck and got turned, I saw the face also!! That was crazy!

If you look close there's a face on the end of that first log.
you are the third person to say that.
What a cheater! ;-)) Starting the fire with a flame thrower. I was not expecting that.
since when is any method of starting a fire cheating? fire is fire no matter how you start it. their job is to cut wood not rub two sticks together.

You can have your smokeless burner. Myself, I like the ole burn barrel over anything.
In addition to your "boom" plaques you should do some "got a good hold of 'er" plaques. 😅
good idea Russell , we have many more lol.
I think its great that every bit of the log gets used for something or other...very eco-friendly.
Great video Mark and Eddie and ZZ Mark. Love the new fire pit i bet it's warmer than the old oil drum. Hope everyone's keeping well. Take care.

out in our neck of the woods we have those Detroit flags all over very popular now you need to put a BOOM sign on the swing arms for the haters lol
I like the Detroit flag it looks good on the ole wall , a boom sign would send them over the top lol.
Thanks! For the multicam
thank you Dave!
Just about had it was thinking the hardwood expert lol but close still counts
that's very close Randy.
I don't have a re-saw so I go out of my way to avoid cutting flitches. I notice you don't hesitate to cut a flitch... doesn't that just give you more work?
no the edger takes care of the flitches , it's all about the highest grade that you can get out of a log.

Just a random thought...For folks that don't know where the pith is, might help to put a dot of spraypaint on a log or two so they can see it better
that's a great idea.
👍👍😎😎camera angle. Re static & dust, try a drier sheets and/or glass cleaner sheets.

well thank you John , I try to make the sawing videos as long as I can.
