Art in apartheid in SA

26 years since the end of apartheid and South Africa is still debting whether to keep or remove some of those statues and monuments.
And while that conversation is happening questions are still being asked about how much art and visual imagery helped in constructing Afrikaner nationalism in apartheid South Africa?
Professor Lize van Robbroeck from the University of Stellenbosch co-authored a piece based on the book Troubling Images which offers a critical account.
