I'm going to miss these. You're one of the few people I can always count on to have book hauls with books that both sound interesting and are titles that I haven't already heard of.
I absolutely adore your book hauls because I live in Germany and there are so many books out there that I've never heard before but that are introduced by you through this format. I totally get that your time is limited and I wholeheartedly support your decision to focus on the type of videos that are close to your heart but I still hope that you'll share the books you acquire (maybe just as an instagram story or post) so that I can go and check them out. Your taste is impeccable 🥰
Oh yeah! Maybe I’ll just save them up and do a mega book haul once every quarter of that would be if interest. And I’ll try and film more book haul shorts for insta and tiktok since they’re helpful. Thanks so much for saying so!
I'm here for the ancient reading guides! I just got into ancient classics now that I started reading the Caroline Alexander translation of The Iliad and I've discovered a love for the genre!
Oh yay! I have a general Greek one atm but I’m planning on uploading a general Roman one in January with some more genre specific ones over the year ☺️ so I hope they’re useful!
I didn't find The Nesting creepy enough 🤣 I think because here in the Southern Hemisphere it's our summer, possibly needed to be read on cold winter days and dark winter nights...
I love your videos and the books you recommend are so different from other you tubers and are so interesting. Please do a reading vlog on Greek myths. We are witches sounds great so do all the others.😄
Nooooo!!!! So sad! I add more books to my “want to read” list from your hauls than from any other Booktuber. Everyone else talks about the same handful of books, but yours are always so unique and interesting. I’ll miss your hauls so much.
I already started Ship of Theseus. It's very interesting but will all the foot notes and articles it takes double the time to read it so I'm going very slow. Lost is my all time favourite show so a book from wan of the creators was on my list.
Hi Jean. I do so enjoy listening to you sharing your thoughts and impressions about the books that you collect. I use your haul videos as a guide for things to look out for especially when it comes to mythological retellings. I just finished reading Kaikeye by Vaishnavi Patel which is a fabulous mythological retelling that I highly recommend. I have already pre-ordered Atalantia as I am a big Jennifer Saint fan and have read both her other books. I've been collecting Owen Davey's books in the past few years to give as gifts to a certain little boy and I confess that I may have "checked" each one for ... um ... spelling mistakes before wrapping them up! We Are All Witches has a stunning cover! Have to look for that one. And I've been dithering about getting Triflers Need Not Apply. Sigh. Shall have to just give in to temptation I suppose. Sending best wishes for you and yours as the New Year approaches. I look forward to your videos in 2023.
Love your book hauls Jean! I hope they don't disappear for long they always give me loads of ideas for what to read! But I've been loving the video essays too so I'm conflicted 🤣🤣
Reading Book Lovers at the moment and it really is as great as all the reviews I have heard about it. I decided to start with it as I was saving Beach Read for when I go to the the beach, but I may change my mind if the beach doesn’t occur soon enough.
Loved Darkest Shore by Karen Brooks this year retelling the story of the Pittemween Witches very powerful, definitely worth grabbing if it crosses your path. Happy reading 🥰📚☕
Emily Henry’s romance books are great! I also really love Ashley Herring Blake. Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail is actually the 2nd book of a trio of sapphic romance companion novels. The couple from book 1 is seen in that book, although I don’t think you need to necessarily read them in order. She also has several contemporary middle grades with queer themes that are excellent too. Enjoy your new books and happy holidays!
Yeah I saw book one but just decided to take the plunge with book two cause I liked the plot better - I confess I’ve read a few romance series this way, in utter chaos aha, at least when it’s different couples each time.
I recently read a CJ Cooke book called The Lighthouse Witches which I loved and also has stuff about the Scottish witch persecution so you'd probably really like it.
I really recommend CJ Cookes latest two novels The Lighthouse Witches and The Ghost Woods too. They share a lot of similar themes with The Nesting; motherhood, folklore, nature and a lot of the same winks at the gothic genre.
@@JeansThoughts tbh sometimes I think it would have been even better if they’d fully committed to the concept and actually called it Ship of Theseus but i think the concept is probably confusing enough without throwing that in there to complicate things too haha
Is "Triflers Need Not Apply" under a different title in the US? I think it's maybe "In The Garden of Spite". Although the main character in Garden of Spite is Belle not Bella.
We Are All Witches sounds really good. I am currently visiting Edinburgh and just messaged Golden Hare Books to see if they have a copy of Hex by Jenni Fagan. If they answer in the affirmative I might have to check on this one too when I visit the shop.

@@JeansThoughts I saw that one and added almost everything to my TBR on Goodreads :D Thank you so much for all you do!

Video essays 🥰
I'd never hear of The Ship of Theseus but it's right up my alley and I can't wait to get my hands on it at the library

Just finished elektra by Jennifer Saint and i cannot wait for Atlanta too now! Ariadne was also fantastic
SO interested in Atlanta!! Hope it's great!
I loved Book Lovers, Beach Read, and People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry. I am looking forward to her new book, Happy Place, next year. 📚📚📚📚
I’m excited to finally read them!

Delilah Green doesn't Care & Astrid Parker doesn't Fail have become my favourite romance books ever, this year !!
Going to miss your book hauls as you always have choices different from other booktubers.

I need Spiritus Mundi 😍
Cant wait to see what you think of S.! I’ve seen some mixed reviews, but I personally really enjoyed it.
I keep forgetting it’s not actually ship of Theseus aha!

Oh I bought We Are All Witches in lighthouse who are also well worth a visit!
Why not try Daughters of Night by Laura Shepherd-Robinson. It's a historical crime novel. A cracking read!!
💛💛💛
What Lipstick are you wearing??? 😍
Ooh it's the maybelline super stay liquid lip in the classic red shade, it does not budge!!!
We want to know what you have coming out so don’t feel strange about letting us know.
