Interesting tidbit: I know a guy who works on cruise ships as a musical performer and he told me cruises split staff into two castes. I forget what they call them but basically there's the caste that's allowed to socialize with the guests, which is the entertainers and the captain and co-captain or whatever; and then there's the service staff and they're not allowed to socialize with guests. So they're splitting them into "lowly servants" vs "employees sparkly enough to have a drink with the guests." So I doubt this cruise ship would have let the waiters and housekeepers come to Ryan's party. Whereas Tim and his parents were fellow guests, and Admiral Awesome is an entertainer, so out of all of Ryan's new "friends" the only ones who could have come did.
