@@pacco1737 Actually I did watch it in full a year ago but I am not talking about this. Alex, you are claiming that Mohammed Hijab has been exposed. That is an active claim. Tell me how it is possible metaphysically, cosmologicaly , ontologicaly , from first principles. Give me the answers please.
He’s talking about making a claim during the debate and if you watch the video you will see that it’s possible without having to go through that other bullshit, because he just straight up exposed that guy right there on camera with the receipts to back it up.
James Camper I’m a muslim and I have to agree on Alex on this debate, just this particular debate. I think Hijap completely misunderstood Alex’s statement. In any debate it’s always important to understand the other person and listen. Hijab, I do admire him for his knowledge but when it comes to debates he is already fixed in what he believes in. I think he should have listened to Alex a lot more. I’m a muslim, I don’t agree with everything Hijab has said in the Oxford debate. I’ve seen much better debates from muslims who actually listens to their opponents.

What do you mean he is censoring comments? Oh so you mean he isn't censoring comments. OK so you retracted it then. You retract that statement. Got it.
It is depressing how many times I have heard this analogy when used to describe a theist debating an atheist. It is like theists feel the need to lie instead of just admitting they have something wrong.
Lol guys, urs is all hate. U cant just accept the reality. Keep being morale atheist, very logical persons 🤣🤣 why instead of blaming each other like this dont we live together with all our con ceptions and misconceptions, than after death we are all gonna aree what is right and what is wrong. I mean, u artheis guys are so funny. Il make an example of you... so, there a banana on the table in a house in Iceland ok? What attestato do is refuse to accept the fact that the banana is actually there just because u dont see it;the fact is that u rejecting this fact or not makes not difference, because the banana always has been there and it is still. This same example we can use it to describe you atheist guys... u just dont like the fact that there is a creator and that he is gonna a judge you in the end of time, thats all, so u guys try in every way to put shit on people who believe in this so that ur toughts make sense for 1 time. U guys know it, in the deepest part of ur brain, that Islam is the truth, and no one ia gonna escape the power of God. Not randomly He said that if ALL ( humans and jinns) were to Pray for him, he's not gonna get bigger in any shape or form. At the same time, if ALL (humans and jinn) were to sin day after day non-stop,his kingdom will always remain the same. The pointer is that he doesnt even need you, even ur prayer, even your good deeds. U gotta care about him indeed, because u are just a useless human being, u are gonna a die 1 day and most important u dont even know what is going to happening to your Body and Soul, but you guys can well refuse the existance of a Creatore XD cringe no? So he doesnt need you and ur atheist mentality. The ones who are gonna pay for disbelievening are you, so if u are happy with this material life and ur evil doeings, well, than enjoy until u can, cuz time is short, im sure u remeber when u were 10 years old as it was yesterday... 60 years old are coming soon, if u reach them. Death is close, keep ur eyes open, have a good one.
@@morad6690 bro your example is simply bad. for example, what evidences are there that the banana is inside the house? i mean you say it yourself, I cant see the banana inside the house. so I would need some kind of prove like a photo to make me belief that claim. the problem is this, you guys cant give us any concrete evidence that the banana exist in that house and yet you want us to believe it simply because you guys said that the banana is inside the house. that's just outrageous. and pls, how do you know that Islam is the correct religion. even if we atheists are wrong, based on simple probability, i can confidently bet that Islam is wrong.

Mohammed Hijab said, and i quote "when the universe came into existance, it well and truly came into existence out of nothing" . Crazy that he changed his mind so quickly
That dosent contradict İslam. The part that differed is how it came from nothing. Us Muslims beleive that the universe was created by God from absolutely nothing, and an athiest would beleive the big bang theory, meaning that it was created from nothing, but without god. Which is simply illogical

This is infuriating. It's disingenuous and intellectually bankrupt and it's deceptive. No matter who wins or loses the debate, one should at least have the decency and courtesy to show it unadulterated so as to allow the viewers to come to their own conclusion. What makes it worse, is to misrepresent one's interlocutor by editing and totally strawmanning them; following up by posting a clickbait title. It's hard to respect someone who behaves in this way and then pretends that the victim of one's deception is being defensive or conceited.
@chocobonita I get that, and I agree, but in the context of basic decency with your interlocutor, it's still shockingly bad. I'm sure there are many Islamic apologists that are more consistent than this guy. You can see the antagonism in his body language as he's debating

Secondly, the something from nothing argument is especially weak and is a misunderstanding of current physics. If you look at Lawrence Krauss' work, he makes it very clear what the so-called 'nothing' is using Quantum Mechanics. I watched the debate first and saw almost everything he brought up in this video. I went to the comment section there to see the outrage, not a single person there had anything to say about it! Then I found this video and felt restored to sanity. Alex, we appreciate everything you do!
I have debated Hijab before... He is the poster child for dirty debating. You have to be in a debate with him to properly understand the levels of misrepresentation, sophistry & out right lies that he engages in.
Ertugrul Bey IYI I’ve done that already... I’m good. I don’t debate such disingenuous people. It’s too frustrating attempting to catch them in every single sophistry type scheme, every lie & every piece of misdirection. It doesn’t become about the topic, it then becomes about semantics.
hijab is a verbal bully with zero listening skills and zero wish to understand anyone. he just wants to bully others into his beliefs by whatever dirty means needed (twisting your words, putting words in your mouth, endlessly interrupting to not allow anyone to understand you, attacking you, shaming you etc.). you have my deepest admiration to be willing to persist in a debate with such an appaling bully, as someone needs to do it for all of our sake... but it is so painful to even watch, i cannot even imagine what it must feel like to actually be personally subjected to such continued mistreatment .... thank you for your heroic representation.
Very well described, a bully using all available intimidation and manipulation techniques possible ... Well, in fact he represents islam quite perfectly 😂
Which is how most apologists (and many politicians) work. They know arguments from the opposition and they and their team work out a counter strategy and test them with test audiences. They keep those that gives them the best reaction. Then they "listen" during a debate for keywords and regurgitate their prepared soundbites, even if they're out of context of what was actually being said. That is because their answers usually contain a strawman or two that is then dismantled. Apologists (and many politicians) are the most dishonest people you can ever meet.
0x777 well I would expect them - by which I mean demand, not necessarily trust them to - to at least have the basic decency of not doing any of the things Mohammed Hijab is guilty of doing in this prime example of disingenuousness. I don’t get why you would even engage in a discussion if you’re not open to learn something new. Same goes for a debate. You can make your point but you have to consider your opponents view as well - and do so in an honest way.
@@farmuhqas With the difference that my statement was not thoghtless but can be shown to actually be quite logical. A religious person literally puts their life on the line when debating religion. They are invested in their position with pretty much their whole life adjusted and aligned along the idea that there is a specific deity or pantheon and that if this was not true, they would not only lose the meaning in their life but also they would lose the support of their peers, likely their friends and family, maybe even their income. Losing a debate in a devastating way could very well mean their end. How many irreligious people do you know who are that invested in "atheism"? Personally, I'm not. If you could field a logical argument for a god, hey, ok, so I'll believe. So far, nobody has brought one up that could be considered sensible, but I'm not adverse to keep trying. I have no stake in the game, technically, because I wouldn't lose anything if I was shown to be wrong. If anything, I could win that way. And now your argument for why you cannot expect a honest debate with an irreligious person.
@@711Zephyr If they were looking for a debate, I'm fairly sure that would be the case. The closest a debate with a religious person gets is usually what we see as "talk show" in afternoon TV.
The very fact you’ve managed to change your mind on certain topics through discussion actually puts you on a higher ground than most people. You are showing you can change your view when introduced to new ideas. Well done not many people are even capable of doing something like that
Growing up in an Islamic state, I often encountered this type of "logic" from muslim "intellectuals." While watching the debate, I could sometimes even anticipate Mohammed Hijab's next moves. What surprised me more was your amazement at his arguments rather than the arguments themselves. In another one of your videos, you pointed out certain drawbacks in Hitchens' debates, including his skillful use of humor and charm to create an impression of correctness even when he was not. In my opinion, this was actually one of his strengths. When dealing with individuals who behave like unruly children, throwing tantrums, kicking, shouting, and interrupting, you don't reason with them; you give them a timeout. Hitchens was a master at using his wit and charm to give these kinds of people a well-deserved timeout.
@@ofHerWord Lost? If anything Hijab's behavior shows that Islam is not to be taken seriously and doesn't hold up to scrutiny. I don't think that's true, but I also don't let one random clown represent an entire religion's viewpoint.

The moderator didn't do nothing as per usual as the 'fear of offense' outweighs the ability to stand up in what's right. @@thebuddercweeper I agree, it's hard to call it a debate, and that Mo behaved disgracefully. But it's a stretch too compare Mo to a cheater. Though of course having seen the debate, Mo did do that a lot, but that wasn't the only thing. He responded to arguments and put forward his own (it's been a year since then so correct me if i'm wrong). So i think a more accurate analogy is you're playing a chess game, and your opponent is being noisy when you're planning your move, and distracting you, which is very crappy of them, but it's unfair to say it's the only reason you lost. (I don't think hijab won the debate though, i think the debate was just a mess) Im ofc muslim (no shock there). And in islam we have to hear both sides before we make a decision. And i won't make excuses for Mo, he can do that for himself. My issues are these: This is stuff that should be handled 1st privately, and if that doesn't work, then publically. So if this was a genuine attempt to shed light on dishonesty and underhandedness (which i agree is an important thing to do), why didn't he attempt to talk to Mo about these things 1st (privately) and instead jumped straight on making a case against him. If that wasn't the point of the video (exposing the dishonesty), and it was instead to review his own arguments (which i think is a fair thing to do, especially if you've improved or changed your stance on some arguments), then in my opinion that shouldn't be laced with mockery and derision of his "debating" partner. So basically, i like what alex says, but not how he says it. In my opinion what would have been the most grown up thing to do, would be get into contact with hijab and record a conversation about the points of "why do you censor comments", "did you purposely cut off my mic" etc, instead of speculating his reasons, and pinning those to him. But for the rest of this video, i think the points he's making in review of the debate are mostly fair, but those should be separate to his (cosmic's) claims of the underhanded business.
@@thebuddercweeper I realised i forgot to mention what was dishonest. Just briefly, cuz i think i've already typed enough of an essay in my other reply. I retract that, i think the review part of this was honest. (I can't speak on the claims of underhandedness until i hear both sides though, as said in my other comment). I do think the points cosmic makes are honest points. "Dishonest" is wrong of me to say. What i do think though, is that this format isn't a fair thing to do, a post debate one sided argument. He's saying Mo misrepresents him, and in response he's misrepresenting Mo. This is what i meant in my 1st comment, where i was saying a review would be nice, as opposed to just attacking Mo. Also why did he wait til now for this? He said that it was cuz Mo was clickbaiting and such and misrepresenting him by those, but those aren't the focus of this video, a year old debate is. EDIT: Sorry that i made this comment section an argument, the original comment was just a funny joke, but no use crying over spilt milk. ruclips.net/video/jnf6XL7Z95w/видео.html - Heres Mo's side, watch this with the intent to listen, as you did for alex, not with the intent to argue, then make a decision. In my opinion this answers to the review section of this video (this "exposing" video), but it still doesn't answer to the censorship, but i think that's a separate issue.
I guess u get it wrong. Despite the fantastic narrative, which is actually secondary, the primary function/ purpose of monotheistic religions is to establish good and evil. It leads to a though that everything was created by someone and purposed for sth. Simple as ..ck. On the other hand magic is all about the fantastic stories.
@@prostoname5338 "the primary function/ purpose of monotheistic religions is to establish good and evil" that is your interpretation of the purpose of why those religions were made. The most likely purpose of the invention of most monotheistic religions was to have political control over the people. It is easier to enforce law under one God, in contrast to enforcing law when there are multiple Gods that might even stand for different things. Not to mention that is completely irrelevant, the purpose of something does not in any way affect its veracity. Not to mention, that how do you even know what is the purpose of all monotheistic religions, and how do you know what is the purpose of magic. It is nothing but an over generalization based on a personal and completely subjective interpretation of both, in the purpose to separate both in terms of narrative when the narrative was never in question, but its veracity. Purpose is entirely irrelevant when both are equally fantastical. Unless purpose adds veracity somehow, but if that was the case then it would add veracity to all myths and legends. Which would prove God as much as it would prove Zeus, and every other single God, therefore making Monotheistic religions false because they claim to be the only one.
@@farrex0 that’s not my interpretation. It is one of the classical as well as social cohesion theory and Marx’s idea of structure. Never thought that there is an exact answer.

Haha, check out his most recent video - ruclips.net/video/QDscxwf89ZU/видео.html EDIT: It looks like the video has been set to private or it's been deleted now, but the title was "Is Atheist 'Cosmic' Racist?" and it was about three minutes of Mohammed Hijab talking about how Alex might be racist and showed a clip of one of Alex and Stephan Woodford's (a.k.a. Rationality Rules) conversations where they were discussing morality. In the clip, Alex is talking about the practice of mandating that women wear a burqa in public and he referred to it as something along the lines of "forcing women into cloth bags". Somehow, Mohammed Hijab believes that this is an indication of Alex's racism.
@@vroomvrommgrrr6950 It seems unlikely to me that he holds a sincere belief that Alex is racist. And if your little soft heart can’t handle criticism and in return decide to call him “racist” because he doesn’t agree with his beliefs then I don’t even know what to say to you. It amazes me how stubborn and ignorant people will want to be to try to defend the little bubble they are so desperate to stay in. Which is how most apologists (and many politicians) work. They know arguments from the opposition and they and their team work out a counter strategy and test them with test audiences. They keep those that gives them the best reaction.
Mohammed Hijab behaved disgracefully, and making a video bringing that to our attention is not only a respectable thing to do, it is the only thing he *can* do to call attention to the dishonesty, of which you have seen proof if you’ve watched the video.
If I play a game of chess against a cheater, should I “accept I did poorly in the game and evaluate why”? Of course not! I should, if I am playing in a club, report the cheater, or if playing casually, decide never to play with them again and call them out on it.
I’d very much like to see which parts of this video are dishonest, because as far as I’m concerned, Alex showed enough concrete evidence to doubt Mohammed’s honesty in every section.
A debate is not a game of out-wording your opponent, the goal isn’t to trick the opposition into agreeing with you.
@@thebuddercweeper plus there have been other times in which Hijab as strawmaned other people in his Videos by editing the Videos. So there is also outside evidence for his dishonesty. For example, he has a Video up where he speaks with atheists on the streets and there a few cuts to be found that convienently change the actual statements of these people.
@@thebuddercweeper I agree, it's hard to call it a debate, and that Mo behaved disgracefully.
But it's a stretch too compare Mo to a cheater. Your comment implies the only thing that went on in the 2 hour original debate was Mo screaming over cosmic's every word.
(I don't think hijab won the debate though, i think the debate was just a mess)
Im ofc muslim (no shock there). And in islam we have to hear both sides before we make a decision. And i won't make excuses for Mo, he can do that for himself.
My issues are these:
This is stuff that should be handled 1st privately, and if that doesn't work, then publically.
Hearing a religious person talk about “refuting magic” is peak irony.
@@prostoname5338 and is good and evil not a fantastic story?
@@hasanabduqayumov no it's not fantastic just relative

I've never ever seen someone so confidently be wrong as Hijab

Mohammed Hijab isn't a debater, he wasn't there to discuss. He was preaching. He's a preacher. He's only interested in looking like he won, and making sure his image is that of someone who is correct.
Exactly. He was there to spread Islam far and wide and to hopefully get some new converts. No wonder he couldn't bother himself with understanding the finer points of Alex's arguments. That was simply not the point for him
@Persian Assassin You mean what is wrong with being disingenuous, dishonest, not letting other people talk and not trying to *understand* what the person you're debating is actually talking about?
Jee, idk
How much of the Zakat from decent Muslims is siphoned off to feed this spawn of the sewers?
@Persian Assassin no, buddy. I'm claiming that M. Hijab is dishonest and doesn't let anyone talk, *not* every preacher ever. You're the one strawmanning me.
@Persian Assassin Don't worry about it. Have a great day :)

Azizbek Egamberdiev whose argument?
Hijab is extremely arrogant in his debate. He's now resorted to ad hominem attacks against Alex. How low can Hijab go ?!
He constantly interrupts Alex and when Alex does the same, Hijab points it out as rude.
@@Strugglebaddy616 You're a liar, this was a moderated debate, how the hell are you talking about disturbances when it'd get shut down quick by the moderators.
@@WeAreGhuraba I think it was poorly moderated in regards to the constant bickering and talking over one another.
It's plainly obvious that Hijab talks over him as Alex is trying to explain a previous matter.
Islam prohibits arrogance and proudness.
When is that starting?
Hey Alex, I’m a Muslim and the debate was the first time I had come across you, I was so impressed with your knowledge and the way you carried yourself. I’ve since subscribed and despite you disagreeing with pretty much everything I believe in i respect you and enjoy your content. Sorry about the debate, I wish it had gone better.. I cringed when you were constantly interrupted and spoken over
we can't take your comment seriously because you're Shiite

I am saying this as a muslim. It's no use debating Mohammed Hijab. His purpose is only to create click bait content.
His behaviour is unprofessional. He comes across as arrogant. There are far better and more civil mannered muslims to debate. Best wishes.
Mohammed Hijab: I am about to end this man's whole career
CosmicSkepitc: No
But mohamed ended it
Arsalan Khalid how did he - watch the video mate.
@@Carlosshadow5 Buddy he edit his vid why would i waste time to watch his fake racist vid
Arsalan Khalid um, so.. you’re saying he edited his video or the debate..? He obviously (maybe not to you) edited with video in order to not make it extremely long (as he had said in the video, which you would’ve known if you had watched it). But that shouldn’t even matter; the footage of the debate is there online, he can’t edit that. He just went point by point discrediting the points that Mohammed was saying. And if your little soft heart can’t handle criticism and in return decide to call him “racist” because he doesn’t agree with his beliefs then I don’t even know what to say to you. It amazes me how stubborn and ignorant people will want to be to try to defend the little bubble they are so desperate to stay in. (And if you didn’t get that either, because apparently I can’t pressure any intelligence from you, the bubble is the limited way that you perceive the world just so that it fits the way that you view the world. Which literally has nothing to do with reality. Just because you don’t like something, it doesn’t make it untrue.. or in this case, just because he doesn’t agree with his statements doesn’t make him a racist.)
P.S. sorry if that explanation is really hard to understand. If you need help maybe try asking someone who is smarter to explain it to you.
@@Carlosshadow5 LOL you wasted your time for no reason your little hart so up set you had to write a whole essay to explain XDD
One of the earliest chess masters in history (iirc ~17th century) was a spanish bishop named Ruy Lopez. He gave advice like position the board so the sun shines in your opponent's eyes, because chess theory hadn't developed much yet.
That seems to be the level of insight Mohammed brought to this debate
Rah, we already KNOW that this video is going to spark some drama from Hijab’s cancerous community 😅
Edit: Ok, this was already explained by Alex here but I can’t help but say this:
THIS VERY VIDEO has received more comments under it within two hours of posting than Hijab’s post of the original debate has in over a year... Enough said.
Eh, fuck those mindless trolls.
I‘m ready
Let them try.
Just think about how much effort they are putting on doing this
Keep up the good work!
Hey man, I am a Muslim that just wanted you to know that I am sorry for the troubles you faced in terms of comments and editing the video+not allowing you to publish the debate.. I have noticed the comments manipulation on the video myself and again I must admit that this is absolutely wrong. I didn't watch your review to the end because I think a debate ends when it does. But I watched the whole debate and listened to all of your points. The click bate thing annoyes me too. To be honest Hijab can be sometimes really arrogant but I hope you contact him personally and talk. All my respect
Don't apologize, you didn't do anything wrong.
