Always great to get the latest updates on what welding machines are available. Again, Matty you are the right person to explain this technology to us. Thanks for sharing Mate. Cheers Billy J... Queensland, Australia.
UK price circa £2500 - Did notice from specs power factor was 0.65 which is why it blew your breaker. They have skimped out on putting in a PF correction circuit to save money I guess. I guess they have spend the money on the screen and computer and less on the actual welding part. Bit Like a Tesla car :)
@@martindean1205 devices with poor power factor use excess current from the supply but it doesn't translate to real power. You need to understand three phase reactance theory to know what's really going on. Suffice it to say it's drawing more current than it needs to weld.
Now available in the UK and a few welding distributors are selling online for £1750 with a 5 year warranty. I heard the machine was available initially to Jasic's Australian distribution partner and they have sold high numbers down under.
Online prices are 40% off list price that is what we have to sell them for any distributors that aren't are emailed saying we get 10 days to change prices
Purchased This machine a few months ago, The pulse functions are an absolute dream to use on all material thickness's . i'll never buy workshop machine with out pulse functions.
I like this welder although I can’t weld for toffee… I have an ‘Aldi Speshul’ MIG gasless thing.. it’s saved me a fortune… I also have an Eland MIG which I haven’t got to use as of yet as I have a few things in the fire that are preventing me from getting some gas for it.. This JASIC machine way to expensive for me BUT for a facility that’s looking for consistency etc then the advancement in Tec is a good thing.. having someone ‘watching’ over whilst you weld though.. bad enough posting a photo online of things ‘one’ has destroyed gets every professional welders attention/advice and never with anything other than brutal honesty…. Or now until my skin gets a bit thicker I stick to making a mess, grinder/paint (insert home welder man’s mantra here!)
P.S got me tickets for Matt’s draw as well so maybe in the future I will be heading south to a workshop near Axminster for a few lessons, and cups of tea…? Who knows? Best of luck to everyone who buys tickets!!
personally i think they're getting WAY too high tech, all my welders i can repair my Pickford oil cooled stick welder i can rebuild from the ground up, my AC/DC TIG i can be repaired fairly easily & my oxford pulse MIG 270-1 has a lifetime parts supply.
just read through the entire manual for this, just had a question, could not get a answer for it there, can it take a 300mm reel on the spindle or is it limited to 200mm. (on a esab you can easily find that info on brochure/manual ), by the way its septmeber now one month from your video upload date, selling at all the usual sites for 2182 pound inc vat, anyway.
@@user-reddev77 thank you for the reply I will take your word for it. on the manual that I can access on the website for the Evolve 200 + the page 13 is completely different its a chapter on "welding operate instructions" section on how to 2T with graph diagram. Manual version is rev0.0. Anyway. PS I replied to your message few hours ago but it got deleted. I had included a link to the jasic manual pdf on their website, Our Urchfab's admin seems to be very strict. Thanks again for the reply much appreciated. (i wont be going back to a D200 after seeing the economy with D300 on mig regardless of any fancy features)
The next evolution of welding machines you will just tell it what to weld & it well do the rest lol . I could see some of these features useful but I can also see it being a problem in terms of too many settings/features & too much unneeded electronics that likely overwhelm a user and potentially reduce service life/repair viability . Any chance of a video covering some known good buy auto darkening welding helmets (doesn't have to be dedicated video to just this) Ones that do give good vision of the weld and with price point of perhaps150 to £350
Hard to imagine someone who does welding for a living saying; "Gee I wish my welder had Wifi and Cloud and I could use a phone app to adjust it" Better to lose the computer menus, and just have a nice large panel on the front of the welder with a knob for each parameter. Oh yeah, knobs cost money. Wifi junk chips are cheap
@@Urchfab Yeah I like a product that works properly BY ITSELF. The moment they start talking about "phone apps" it means; 1. The product is not properly featured to work by itself, and 2. they want to put an invasive software on my personal phone that has all my contacts and possibly photos and financial data etc.
I still work with a Lincoln Sp125 every day since 1995. For less than .25 its gotten me the best welds I have ever lain. Its worked 5 days a week for decades.
Exactly. I've been buying Bosch Pro cordless tools. The drill's come with a module which you can connect to your phone allowing you to choose the speed and torque settings etc. to match the hole and material you want to dig. Why ?? Some poor bugger's going to climb a ladder and not be able to drill a hole because he's left his phone somewhere ? Meanwhile, the girl with a manual drill has drilled ten holes and got them bolted up and is sat drinking her coffee.

Excellent review Matt, looks a sweet bit of kit. Thanks for sharing. Cheers

Funny mine has PFC
Pretty sure Matt said it was trying to pull 32A on a 16A breaker. That's why it tripped.

@@justastulpe3265 I just typed Jasic Evolve 200 on a google search found it on the first page.

Pulse is a game changer for sure.
Lovely looking bit of kit and some great results.

It says it takes a 200mm - 5 kg reel of wire in the manual (Page 13)

Yep, I prefer something simple. To be fair its pretty simple if you use it normally.

Old miller/cigweld are nice but most have overheating damage now from long use.
Interesting..
My first welder I bought in 1975. It still works. Will this be working in 49 years?

Id have to agree.
I got a tiny bit of splatter from my old mig onto a brand new smartphone a couple of years ago, cracked the screen!!! Be warned 🧔🏻
Connects to internet? no thanks.
Has the option of Bluetooth connection doesn't it?
