Kinda late but I wanna pitch in that a few people, including myself, have had bios issues with this motherboard - such as being unable to change memory clocks, mine were stuck at 2999 and any time I tried setting it to anything else, including below 2999 the system would not boot anymore requiring me to reset the bios. I've also experienced stability issues when AMD's core boost thing is turned on, however that might have been my 2400g because the 2999 memory might have already stretched its stability due to zen 1 having issues with their memory controllers

Hi there, this is a really good review, so on point, make me consider buying hdv (non r.40) board cuz of its better in that list but still price matters, r4.0 must be a bit cheaper? i would maybe consider a newer b550 the prices seem to have come down rather nicely and something like the MSI B550 pro a or vdh pro wifi will suit that setup and have good enough VRM for future overclocking

Awesome I got all the parts works perfectly I have the 1600 AF I have the 3.20 bios should I do the 3.70? Doesn't give much info on the update
Use it as is and see if the system is stable and you get the correct ram speeds if this works okay there is no immediate need to update in my opinion
do you need a graphics card for the pc to post? I have the Ryzen 5 3600 and I haven't gotten the graphics card yet, can the PC post without the graphics card or does the motherboard need some sort of BIOS update, please reply
you will need a gpu for it to post
Can I connect rgb fans and control them?
Sorry if my english is bad, im from Croatia.😄
If the fan has an rgb connector then i dont think you can since im sure the motherboard doesnt have any headers but you can use an adaptor. If the fan only has a 4 pin/3 pin then you're fine.
there is no RGB controller on this board sorry
Yes you can use an adaptor

yeah sure it supports the chip and as long as your OC expectations are kept in check you will be pleasantly surprised .
the model i am looking at has a heatsink so can i go with it? i was pairing it with 3700X and wont be overclocking

yes it does and thanks for watching

Can you suggest a budget case for this build
the thermaltake S100 in black or white, it is currently on sale at Scan UK tidd.ly/3ZGh3MZ
I can buy some parts from CCL here in the UK. Avp Kolus case, Asrock B450m HDV and a 500w Be Quiet System Power 9 psu for a total of £132. I can't afford much else due to being furloughed from my job. Is this a good deal or should I wait?

does this motherboard support overclocking? i heard b450 chipset motherboards support overclocking
A320 doesn’t support it b350 and b450 are okay

Hi Friend, I am building a PC for the first time in my life. Do you think if I will buy the board sometime this week it will come with a pre updated bios to support 3000 ryzen ?

what is the highest overclock you would do or what motherboard would u suggest for overclocking keep in mind my case is a microatx so it would have to be a microatx
impossible question to answer with such limited information. Overclocking depends on many factors including silicon quality , decent power delivery ambient temps etc etc.
Mike, does this board support RGB FAN CONTROLL?? I have some Raidmax fan controller and 5x case fan RGB but dont know will it work. Please help, buy or not buy!?
no rgb control on this board
@@mikesunboxing OK... i got Raidmax Fan controller and buy 5 Falcon RGB fans.... can it work together on this board?
I bought the B450 HDV 4.0 board with 3400G package. but after assembling, I did not get display. I called the seller and he says I need to update bios with an older cpu? Is that right? This version should work with 3400g right away. Also, I do not see a sticker on the bios chip, and it looks like it was taken off. I am thinking of sending it back.
yes it needs version p3.20 or higher which is the second release from the stock BIOS
This worked for me but something you can do is Remove the CMOS battery for a bout 10 seconds and just place it back in and it should work.
HugoNoWhere good point
@@HugoNoWhereOfficial What will that do exactly?
@@mikesunboxing In the meantime,I contacted Asrock. They told me if there is no sticker on the bios chip, then they have already updated with the latest bios and should work with 3400g, and I should send it back to the seller if it does not. So I am shipping it back today. Someoen also told me that 3400g has also compatibility issues with many DDR4s. is that correct?
Hi there, this is a really good review, so on point, make me consider buying hdv (non r.40) board cuz of its better in that list but still price matters, r4.0 must be a bit cheaper?
If i need m.2 x4 pcie slot, support zen3/ryzen 5000, and maybe just a little bit oc (though i might not oc the cpu) is this board the best cheapest board? I am going to buy ryzen 5 3600 cuz of my tight budget right now, maybe in a couple years will upgrade to ryzen 5 5600 or higher...(ofc non X cuz i am afraid my current psu can't supply enough power)
i would maybe consider a newer b550 the prices seem to have come down rather nicely and something like the MSI B550 pro a or vdh pro wifi will suit that setup and have good enough VRM for future overclocking
Hi bro, good review, i have question for you, which of these 3 motherboards will be the best for ryzen 5 3600, msi b450m a pro max, asrock b450m r.4.0 or asrock a520m hdv? If there are better motherboards in this budget, you can mention them.
aim for the gigabyte b550 gaming x or the msi b550 gaming plus, they should be in a similar price range but much better choices
Are there 3 fan headers (including cpu) and how many rgb headers
no rgb headers on this board sorry
Buongiorno e grazie. Do I need upgrade BIOS before install CPU AMD ryzen 3 3200G?
depends on what sticker is on the bios chip. All new stock will have the BIOS already so just make sure you are buying from a busy shop and you should be fine

I need this model as I see it offers drivers for win 7 (cannot use another win, personal work reasons) but I am not sure if it needs bios update for a 4600G?
4600g won't be able to use in windows 7, no drivers for the GPU
if i ever plan to upgrade to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D then would it be possible? like the 4-pin cpu power connector can provide upto 129W and the Ryzen 7 at peak needs 105W. I initially thought of a Ryzen 9 5900X but its too close to the max limit (127W). Currently I would be using a Ryzen 7 2700X.
it will be missing out on a lot of the benefits of the processor like PCIe gen 4 support but should work but the VRMs won't like heavy loads
@@mikesunboxing thanks man i switched to the MSI B450 PRO-VDH MAX
@@truesyner2009 you would probably be better served with a B550 chipset if the budget allows, they will in general have a much better VRM solution as well as PCie gen 4 support

Trying to build a PC with this board and a 3200g but there's no fan spin or anything. Do I need a Ryzen 2 to update BIOs before I install the 3200?
You might do depending how old the board is. Look on the bios chip it will have a sticker with the bios version on it. Then check that with the cpu compatibility chart and see if you have a match although the fans should at least spin?
So no Overclocking with an r5 3600 should be good right ? No issues ? I know u said the vrms are bad but I probably won’t
Even a small overclock will be okay on this just don’t push it too hard
I get you I just don’t know much about Overclocking so I won’t I just wanted to make sure this board is good for regular use
