  • Loved ones of victims killed by Gary Ridgway, also known as the Green River Killer, expressed dismay and concern at the news that he was suddenly transferred from the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla to the King County jail in Seattle on Monday.
    Ridgway, 75, is currently serving 49 consecutive life sentences for murder. King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office spokesperson Casey McNerthney said Ridgway was booked into the King County jail at 10:42 a.m. Monday on an “institutional hold” by the King County Sheriff’s Office.
    While confirmed to be housed at the King County jail, the King County Sheriff's Office would not specify why Ridgway was transported across Washington state, marking his first time in Seattle in 21 years.

      Bc Insleez repealed the DP in the m mid '90s

    • @GothicCzarina
      @GothicCzarina 5 дней назад +3

      @GS-zc4sk because it was wasted court costs going through the motions of denying any DP sentencing charges after Maleng gave Ridgeway the plea deal. DP had a moratorium, but legally the court sentencing for each DP case had to go through the motions each time to get the DP overturned based on the moratorium.
      So this was the one time Inslee actually saved us money (this is all documented since 2003).
      There is no more DP in WA because Dave Reichert effed up this investigation so badly that Maleng had to work a plea deal and after that no other criminal could meet standards for DP since Ridgeway didn't.
      Also, LOL Inslee didn't do anything to the DP in the 90s. We had the DP up to mid 2000s until the moratorium started.

    • @Kn1ghtsWhoSayNi
      @Kn1ghtsWhoSayNi 3 дня назад +3

      Reichert met with family members of the victims to let them know they could either seek DP or they could take it off of the table in exchange for more victims being found and laid to rest. The families ultimately decided that those whose loved ones had not yet been discovered deserved to have them brought home.

    • @GothicCzarina
      @GothicCzarina 3 дня назад

      @Kn1ghtsWhoSayNi false. Maleng was the prosecutor who talked to the families and made that deal. Cops cant make binding deals with accused.

    We live in a toon world where this guy is still alive on our tax dollars, prancing him around memory lane across the meadowy paths where he buried his victims while offenders in other countries die 30 days after their death sentence hearing. We are not on the sacred timeline

    • @simonstuddert-kennedy8854
      @simonstuddert-kennedy8854 2 дня назад +1

      Well, they offered him life without parole so that he’d tell them (the authorities) where some of the bodies that they hadn’t yet found were. It was worth it to the many of the victims’ families to let the SOB live if they could recover their loved ones for a proper funeral.
      Secondly, you may remember that some years back Gov. Ryan of Illinois declared a moratorium on the carrying out of executions of death row inmates because 13 (!) of them had been positively exonerated by DNA evidence and had to be released. The governor was a Republican by the way.
      The fact that this happened should make any intelligent person wonder about the number of factually innocent people who have been wrongly put to death.
      Life without parole keeps us safe AND stops the government from killing people who just might be innocent.

The state gave him life in exchange for a full confession so he could avoid the death penalty; any additional bodies found or evidence he didn't give would have annulled the agreement and he would have the death penalty again. But the death penalty is now banned in Washington, so what does the state have to enforce the deal now?

      Ridgeway is a decoy (the shiny object) to direct attention away from something or someone. The only one to authorize the move would come from the top, whatever the reasons big or small is all the excuse to make it seem legit. So, what is it that the politician(s) do not want the people to get wind of, even the media mouthpiece knows they're beating on the pots and pans, create some noise, and hope they draw attention away from whatever is brewing in the state's highest office. Arraignment, indictment, medical, and any other legal matters doesn't require Ridgeway to be brought back to King County.

      The last execution was in 2010. It was considered "cruel and unusual punishment" by the State Supreme Court.
      In April 2023, Governor Jay Inslee signed SB5087 which formally abolished capital punishment in Washington State and removed provisions for capital punishment from state law.
      The plea deal to Gary Ridgeway was made by the prosecutor at the request of the victims families.
      They wanted their loved ones remains back for closure. Ridgeway has been cooperating with detectives ever since. For months after being captured they would take him out to all his dump sites. He drew several maps as well.
      He has been saying all along that there is still at least 25 more unknown victims.
      These are women who were never reported as missing.

    My friend and I unknowingly met him while traveling from AustinTX to Hardisty Alberta. He even showed my friend his walther ppk pistol and said he was in naval intelligence. He told us his name. He walked us from the greyhound bus stop to the trailways bus stop in Seattle. He was wearing a vest over his pistol and hiding in the shadows at the closed bustop. The greyhound bus had dropped us off there in the middle of the night and it was closed. We were going to visit a friend in Tacoma but got back on fast and went to Seattle because the other bus stop was closed too and two guys were getting ready to rob us. We asked him for directions to a pay phone to call our friend. At the open trailways bus stop he helped us get to it was crowded with crazy homeless and a young pretty girl on the sidewalk in front. I watched him through the window of the bus station as he bear hugged her and lifted her off the ground and spin around and hug her all the way to his camper truck parked right next to the window. He seemed to be like an uncle of hers I had figured someone she knew While he was putting her in the seat though she was twitching very strangely and she immediately fell over asleep.They drove off. We didnt know there was serial killer lurking in Seattle bus stops and was surprised to see him on the news years later after he turned himself in.
