It's positive because it's for solarpunk, but the future we are currently heading into thanks to capitalism is dystopian cyberpunk, unfortunately.

@@Quaarlos I'm not sure how one can doubt it looking at the world of impending climate collapse, species dying out with record speed, shrinking access to vital resources like freshwater for numerous regions, increasing tensions and chances of nuclear war, ever-widening economic inequality fuelling societal tensions across the world, ratcheted-up worker exploitation by megacorps and billionaires, etc, etc. There is a reason fiction literature and cinema has been portraying dystopian cyberpunk futures for three+ decades now, ever since the launch of hi-tech neoliberal status quo.
Wow. Now THAT is a city of the future as it SHOULD be - a better world.
A city should not be a concrete jungle anymore - but a good place to live for people.

@@matejsteinhauser3974 This isn't even capitalism. We haven't had that in years. We have corporatism, which is basically an extreme form of it. There's a lot of things that were supposed to happen at certain times, it doesn't mean it won't happen either.
We would have had a golden age eons ago, if the powers that be didn't try to hold us back.

Unless there are flying cars involved here, this doesn't look like utopia to me. It would require a much more dense community in order so that people all around can visit any neighbor they wish. A more worthy vision of the future is one where all children are raised by family members and neighbors.

@@temple134 flying cars are not ideal. That's the situation with worlds like solarpunk. The aim is to foster the community first and foremost in the best practical ways and flying cars is a waste of resources. We can build vertically like in the video but then you have living spaces elsewhere outside of that. That's also a waste of resources. Since you already live in a vertical region, you don't need suburban planning.
