    A lot of people praise the EDP version of Bleu de Chanel because of the price and versatility but the Parfum is the real masterpiece of the collection.
    The EDP has better projection (longevity is the same for both 8 / 9 hours on my skin) but it doesn't evolve that much on the drydown.
    The wearing experience of the Parfum is definitely Superior imo , the opening is great and the drydown is incredible (love the creamy sandalwood note on the drydown) and despite being less fresh and more ambery and woody on the dry down the parfum is a very versatile fragrance overall 💯

    Parfums are usually my fav flankers, the scent tends to be thicker, with more depth, with a robust intimate sillage which doesn’t scream, which is perfect for me, i love tdh, still gotta try the parfum💯

    BDC parfum is amazing, and I've been bored of the edt and edp for a long while. TDH edt will always be the best version. I like the edge to it. Faranheit is amazing in any version. I do reach for the original way more, but it is more versatile. Not mentioned Sauvage parfum. Elixir is the best, but the parfum is so nice. Wearing it today.

    Good timing: I was just comparing the original Nuit D'Issey (underrated imo) to the Nuit D'Issey Parfum that I just got a decant of.
    I thought I'd like the Parfum more, stronger, newer, higher Parfumo rating!
    But like you said, it's a bit smoother, more tonka and vanilla which comes across almost rose-like.
    The original though, has punchier pepper, citrus and smokiness that has grown on me, making it more versatile, from cool Summer evenings to winter office use.
    The parfum takes it into more date like/formal territory of which I already have several other similar fragrances,, Or Encens and Mancera Black Gold.
    I think when I finish the original EDT Nuit D'Issey I might just get a new one since the Parfum isn't necessarily an upgrade.

  • @enriqueali

    Simply put, often the trade-off is greater longevity at the expense of less projection.

    Funny enough, I was not a fan at all of Habit Rouge original nor its flankers, but I love the parfum. I noticed that I have only the perfum concentrations mentioned in the video but not the originals. I rarely collect more than one version from one line, but there are few exceptions like Dior Homme, Guerlain L'Homme Ideal, Chanel Allure Homme, etc Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

    So I own both Tom Ford Noir Extreme's and I must say, I love them both but the EDP projection is sooo much better that I would have to agree with you, if you already have that one, there is no need for the Parfum.

    Another fine video. I love Pasha Parfum, so glad I took your advice. Also love both Voyages. To me the Parfum is a “true” concentration flanker, where the edt is a little more citrus forward and brighter and probably easier to casually wear, but I prefer the Parfum. That added rose and amber give it this nice heavy thickness and body to it.

    Being a collector of vintage fragrances.....I find today that the term "parfum" is basically misused today. Remember back in the day when fragrances houses had their "parfum" collections in only 1/4 oz..1/2 oz..and 1 oz sizes ??....and the bottles were all "dab" on. Comparing the "old school" parfum versions of many (obviously before Infra regulations)...I find the 'vintage parfums" a totally different concept/formulation/ect..ect...IMHO......and I do appreciate the newer parfums of today as well. Your list is for sure some of my favorites from this current era. I would LOVE to smell L'Envol Parfum some day !!!! I love the EDP. Peace/Love/Respect...and a big "Hi" to your lovely wife Grace ! Blessings !

    Love this Video. I love Terre D'Hermes Parfum and it is 10/10 for me too. Pasha Parfum is beautiful. I love Eau Sauvage Parfum, i picked the edt because I was looking for a fresher scent, but it is on my to get list. I have to revisit TF Noir Extreme Parfum as I really liked original. Have to revisit Voyage Parfum (original is a 7 to me). Bleu de Chanel Parfum is nice, richer than original edt for sure. Haven't tried Guerlain's Parfum flankers yet. Fahrenheit Parfum is nice but I love the original more. I haven't seen L'Envol Parfum, but it sounds very interesting.

    0:12 Bleu De Chanel Parfum is a famous victim of this. Everybody goes after it for not projecting. It's like Chanel No.5 Pure Parfum as it doesn't project but it just lasts and lasts and has a nice silage. Coco Chanel once said "perfumes should be discovered and not announced". She also said "a women should wear perfume where she would liked to be kissed". I say this cause that is just Chanels style. Is there a crazy strong parfum out there ? yes (Sauvage Elixir) but the way Chanel does things is just different. Their parfums are meant to only be smelled by those who you let near you which I find to be poetic and beautiful. Plus, the scent profile of BDC Parfum is so deep and classy. I get that fruity pineapple and citrus with a nice sandalwood on me. Its my favourite from the line too 😁👍
    edit: Heard that Chanel might be releasing a flanker of Allure Homme Sport which is something I was not expecting at all since the BDC line is the newer line but I guess the Allure Line still has quite alot of hype. Would have preferred a newer frag line but I guess anything is good at this point cause they have been silent for so long 😅

    I have TDH Parfum and agree it is great! Besides Eau Givree, it is my favorite TDH. Probably the classiest grown man scent in my collection.
    BDC Parfum. Masterpiece! Borderline a top 5 frag for me. If I had to keep only 5 in my collection, it would probably make the cut. This is all coming from someone that has never really even cared for the edt or edp that much. It is drastically better than those to my nose.
    Fahrenheit Parfum is another one that firmly in my top 10, borderline top 5 of my collection. It’s just incredible. Again, coming from someone that hates the original.
    I need to try more from these suggestions. In particular that Pasha. Need something from Cartier in my collection.

    Parfum shouldn’t be described as a relation of anything other than the percentage of aroma chemicals, natural or synthetic, in the perfume. The behavior and vibe are merely results, like all other attributes we experience…including the strength, sillage, longevity, etc. They’ll all be unique to the specific formulation. So, the only thing you can factually claim is in relation to the percentages of ingredients in the perfume.

    • @stayfreshproductions
      @stayfreshproductions  3 месяца назад +2

      I agree…but the concentration is only a part of the equation. We must also consider how concentration affects the wearing experience, and it certainly does. And I don’t mean just “performance”!

    • @jlehm
      @jlehm 3 месяца назад

      @@stayfreshproductions of course it affects the wearing experience, but that effect is not consistent across the board. It depends on what aroma chemicals and raw materials are used in the formulation. The “performance” could be better for one fragrance, and worse for another. One could have more push and lift with a higher concentration and another could be denser and flatter. That’s why I say the only thing that is certain is the percentage of aromatics within the formulation. The rest is unique to the formulation and everything involved in it.

    • @jlehm
      @jlehm 3 месяца назад

      @@stayfreshproductions I do agree with everything you’re saying, just not that the wearing experience being one thing or another is the same across the board based on aromatics percentage.

    • @stayfreshproductions
      @stayfreshproductions  3 месяца назад +1

      @@jlehm I do not believe I said it was the same across the board. I spoke in generalities about what one could expect with this kind of concentration. But no guarantees were made. I was not speaking in absolutes.
      I tried to emphasize that one should NOT expect to detect their perfume strongly, nor for it to necessarily last a long time on their skin. And I did my best to explain the behavior of each individual scent in my experience throughout the video, in order to showcase that it is not the same across the board.
      So yes, the behavior and vibe are merely results, but therefore they are something to discuss in a general way.
