either the poplation grows, or we will have an economic problem, one reason being stock holders moving 2 other company's that make more profit(the economy doesnt have 2 be exponatial,2 put a strain on the way of living) Another point is that robots will take the place of the working man for the simple reason that the robots producers will produce better robots, just for their profit
You can strawman anyone who thinks differently about something an extremist, but that does not contribute to developing your own ideas... Which he hardly does in these videos. Nobody is against growth. The question is what kind of growth do people need- a growth of wellbeing, health, and happiness: yes (which are demonstrably decoupled from environmental impact), but economic growth has pervasively been shown to be near impossible to be decoupled from environmental impacts. Of course economic growth contributes a lot towards health, wellbeing, and happiness, but it just as well shows diminishing returns- after a certain level, increased wealth does not contribute to human wellbeing, but it does to environmental impacts.
Historically economic growth has always led to more consumption. Unless growth is non-consumptive of resources, growth will always BE the problem.
The technology we need has been around for a long time. It's called a jail.
