Hi, my name is Jen I am 45 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 10 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time RUclipsr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. With your vast makeup knowledge, I think you could answer many of these and maybe make it a quarterly or monthly video. I have questions like this, so I imagine many other subscribers/viewers do too!

The foundation looks perfect in color on you. Did not think it was too light.

It ended up looking really close to a perfect match on my face...it looked too light on my hand but my hand may be darker from sun exposure this summer. :)
I knew I could count on you to review the flower beauty palettes!
I had the jungle lights palette but ended up giving it away because while I loved the colors and the formula of the shadows I found it very hard to use such dark pigmented shades in this special formula. I learned I prefer lighter more topper-ish colors in this metallic formula.
I agree! I tend to use the darker colors just for outer corner depth but always use the lighter shades on my lids. :)
I just looked the other day, and couldn’t find a review of the new Flower Beauty palettes, so I’m glad you reviewed them. I hope this comment doesn’t disappear into the ether like my last one…

Neutral = peach, yellow/golden = warm and red/pink = cool. FOR MAKEUP. I just learned this from an MUA. Olive is neutral/warm.
Thanks! I don't know why they're making so many "cool" foundations peach these days. I definitely prefer pink. :)
Taken from the Kryolan website: "In relation to the color wheel, skin tones are all found within yellow-orange to red. Skin tones with a cool undertone tend to have a hue towards red-purple. Skin tones with a warm undertone have a hue towards yellow." Hope this helps someone as confused as I was lol.
@@JenPhelpsYep, there is no cool-toned peaches anywhere. A peachy pink is a warm-toned, salmony pink, which has an orangey tone. I have just started to look for foundations (other than my LE one) that would be good matches for my true cool undertone and so far the drugstore is zero out of many. Usually they don't even have shades that would nominally be good for me. I just sampled three high-end ones and most are not only too dark but soo yellow. Sigh. This one looked so good on you though! 😊
That foundation is... :: chef's kiss::. I started watching your channel because you have dry skin with pink undertones, so whenever you find a winning foundation I am SO THERE. 😅

So pretty. I have to say. I’m 62 I have really sensitive eyes and I haven’t been able to wear shimmers. BUT THE NYX GLITTER GLUE SAVED MY EYES. YAAAAY I wear it all the time now. It actually looks like it oxidized a tad. I like how it looks. I was worried it would be drying
The NYX Glitter Glue is my Holy Grail for wearing under eye shadows...and I just turned 62 today😊
I’m so excited about the Milani lip oils! I think they should call them a lip gel but whatever, I love them!
Yes! They do have more of a gel like texture!

You’re one of the few on YT who didn’t like the Catrice foundation and had the same feeling as me. It made my skin look SO dry! So now I’ll have to try that REM foundation!
Hey Jen! While I love the look of the Flower Beauty new shadow palettes on you, they're a bit too sparkly for me. And it might be confusing to some if you don't explain the use of the NYX Glitter Glue as intended for shimmer shade areas only; I know you've mentioned it once or twice before in other videos, but if someone missed those and tries using the Glitter Glue as a general primer for all eyeshadows, it could cause some problems. I hope too that those shadows, and any others, apply just as beautifully with your own brushes from your collab with Doll 10! Those brushes have become my absolute "first grab" brushes in a very short time! Good to see you again - thanks for the video!
Aw thank you, I'm so happy to hear that you're enjoying them!! 🥰 You're right, the glitter glue can be a little tricky if you don't use it for shimmer only. I have mentioned it a few times when I talk about it that you shouldn't use it for mattes but I didn't say it this time because I'm always worried that I'm repeating myself. But for any newcomers, I guess I probably should. :)
How? Those flower palettes are great "companion" palettes.
New "Lights" palettes?!? I am IN HEAVEN! Desert Lights is maybe my favorite one and done shadow palettes of all time. I'm going to buy them both RIGHT NOW. And I can't believe how interested you have made me in that r.e.m. foundation! It looks absolutely gorgeous on you - the natural light shot was a real wow!

From this side of the camera, that color looks spot on for you! If I were to shade match you in a foundation I’d pull for a neutral shade as well, you may not be as cool toned as you perceive 😊

@@callieadams3671 I agree, 100%. I dislike seeing reviews that are sponsored by Curology or agency. I don’t have anything against the products at all. But they never tell you how much it actually costs. For a year supply, someone would spend over $700 on their tretinoin. You can see a cosmetic plastic surgeon or a dermatologist for a consultation and a prescription for tretinoin that would cost you far less than $700/year.
I love the coastal scents one, that lavender color is pretty! I wish they had added maybe a blue or green flip, I’d like to see the brand try their hand at duochromes in this formula.

This eye look is stunning on you. I really wanna get these two new pallets. I like the soft colors a lot more in these than the bolder colors in the first two.

The foundation is so impressive. Oh I just totally swoon of the flower palettes. I've been trying to get the desert lights for a long time. Now I'm not buying any makeup since my work hrs were cut. I've been enjoying the la girl propastels & projewels.

Literally just placed an Ulta order before clicking into RUclips and I got one of the Milani nude oils. I really was attracted by the name of the honey fig one but it looked rather orangey-yellow on their website so I got the blackberry one instead. Hope you are healing well!
