your setup looks good, if it works for you leave it like it is. i´m travelling with roftop tent for more then 15 years and i changed my setup at least 5 times ;-) greetings from germany
Well, you have a good idea with the rooftop tent. I think they’re fantastic way to go camping and you can still keep all your gear and everything inside your vehicle tools and what not and still have a ready-made place to camp as far as the rack or bar in front I think you’ve got a good idea there. Do you want to keep it away from branches and snags and rips and tears and the way you’ve got it is a good place to start.
I love them actually and they’re LOYO LED headlights. I have a review video on them you can watch here: These New Headlights Are Sweet! Meet My CheroBronco XJ ruclips.net/video/uUcsBUSSsyM/видео.html
I really have been thinking about. Roof top tent to make my wife more happy about going camping with our 16 month old daughter and this video really help decide that decision lol. Also what roof rack/ basket did you have on the Jeep before the tent?
If you watch my previous videos which I know you’ve seen pay attention to the roof it’s just a crappy aftermarket basket attached to the stock roof rails lol
@@mountaincrawlers8 ya I do watch all your videos haha. But mostly watching that 3 link and 4 link do work haha. But has that been decent for extra storage I know it’s common but never see it on peoples XJs who actually wheel them lol
@@Anthony_Adventureshonestly that roof rack saved my butt on our crown king/Sedona trip. Without it I wouldn’t have had near enough room for all our gear for a 4 day trip like that.
@@mountaincrawlers8 ya you were very loaded down on that trip haha. How did you attach it to the factory roof rails just with some small u-bolts or something?
Hey man I have an XJ and i have 6 smitty bilt rain gutter mounts, if i use bars or make my own rack do you know or think they'll hold the tent and have good weight distribution?
I like the rack might put some skin on the front and some lights , paint 👍
I like it . Function over form always!!
Function over form, whatever works for you.
It dont look bad with tent up there.

Appreciate the input!
Love the tent..the roof rack looks good too..maybe paint it black to match the trim of your XJ(?)
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Got my mind working now. 😎

I used the clamps it came with. U bolt style clamps that go to the factory xj cross rails
How did the jeep do going back up the 260 to the rim ?
Did awesome no complaints 👍

6 should be okay I know of a couple people only running 6 and being just fine. I went with 8 out of precaution though!
what roofrack do you have?
I made it. 3:55 minutes into the video…
