Look no further, just changed my Honda cvr (which I loved) for this beautiful car which give you loads more toys, more mpg and a lot faster for your money. A Hydes
I've been looking at these to replace my Civic Type R for family reasons - I've had CRVs in past. Always looked to Honda - but I Do really like the Volvo XC60 -Great Review,
This is awd drive not fwd. accordingly has the older engine tuned up to 181bhp and six speed auto. New engines and 8 sp auto box only on fwd presently.
+hydroruf I hope it fitted ok. I just checked as I was surprised by your measurements. In the book the XC60 is wider by 5cm excluding mirrors but by an extra 14cm either side with mirrors. #breathin :)
Here is my experience with the 2013 XC60. Had it for a year and a half, drove it sensibly and took it in early for it's second service this week. The basic service cost $820 and they claimed it needed other work done to it to the tune of around $1800 (including the windscreen wipers replaced at $88 and brake pads worn). All of these costs are what they called wear and tear so they are not covered by any warranty. So buyer beware. They are either using inferior parts that don't even last two years or their authorised repair centres are out to gouge their customers.
Is this USD???? How many miles did you drive, a million?? Volvo service is not cheap, I have mine since 2010 but these figures are too high. I have learned my lesson on service.... First they have to make an OFFER, I check it, perhaps compare with other OFFERS, then I make a appointment. Additional works are not allowed without my consultation! Thats the only way to get a control on the costs...
Great review. But that's a D4 AWD model not D4 FWD, and therefore has the old 5 cylinder 2.4 litre engine and 6 speed gearbox... the newer 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engine that is cheap to tax and more economical and 8 speed auto are only available on FWD models at present. Different beasts entirely despite sharing the D4 badge. Still, great car - and the older (5 Cylinder) engines are the best sounding!
I think that this is the new D4 181 model with 8 speed and AWD. Volvo UK configurator says you can get this model with or without AWD. Maybe your thinking of the D5 215 model, thats AWD only. Not sure if the pre-facelift D4 was available FWD either. Its just as hard trying to work out the S60/V60 D3/D4 engined cars from the last 6 months... Keep up the good work Rory - really informative reviews on your channel.
mark campbell Hello Mark, AWD is ONLY available with the 5 Cylinder engines 181PS (D4) or 215PS (D5) and the 6 SPEED automatic or manual!! The new 4 CYLINDER E-DRIVE 2000ccm 181PS (D4) is only FWD, with this you can get the 8 speed automatic, or 6 speed manual!!!
+Gordon Mccracken Actually, I know of a person who had a 2011 XC60, and just bought a 2015.5 XC60. He's says there's no comparison. His new XC60 is much better. Driving dynamics much better because of the addition of torque vectoring.
Great video man. Your reviews are really good, informative and nice to look at.
Thanks Rowan!

Between D3 and D4, there is huge differences. D4 is completely different car. Good review and thanks to the people who behind it.
You are damn good at reviewing cars!
Ater Mat Watson from Carbuyer you are my second favour car review person . Good Job.
Yay. Second place.
Who would have thought, some 6 years later they Rory Reid would have gone on to Top Gear and AutoTrader?!

I spotted the same
Excellent review.
Well presented enjoyed, I have got one coming in a weeks time changing my V50 for XC60 as easier to get into, with my spine!
I have this vehicle in the polstar model and it's so fun to drive.
I just bought a xc60 to replace our cx5. Worried it wouldn't fit in our garage, i measured both cars and the xc60 is narrower.

Volvo just kind of fits in that weird market. I do like their newer cars though. And the Polestar cars are something else too.

The previous XC60 looks like a brick ? There has only been one generation with a modest styling update.
Modest it may be... but the facelift make a big difference to the aesthetic, no?
RecombuCars
actually I preferred the original styling however the updated styling is growing on me, regardless I enjoy your reviews
Gordon Mccracken Thanks GM. We appreciate you watching.

57mpg...no chance....not even resetting the meter on the motorway at 6omph on a flat with tyres at maximum psi and empty!
Trust him to stash bodies in the back loooll
