    You need to do a hike to Cliff Lake in the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness but schedule it when there is a full moon. It is breathtaking!

      OMG. I just noticed the date this video premiered is the same day the Shaver Lake fire started. I'm crying thinking about what might have happened to this area now.

    Great Video! Looking forward to head up there again. The sunset shot with the hot coco looked straight from a heart felt cinematic moment. Nice job.

    Incredible footage! I live in Fresno so Dinkey Creek and DLW is a popular spot for many locals, but outside of that it's not very well known at all. It truly is paradise! Can't wait to go this summer.

    Hello! I will be up at Wishon in a few weeks and I was wondering how you guys got to the Dinkey Lakes Trailhead! It seems as if it was from Courtright, which would be super convenient! Do you hike from Courtright to the lakes, or did you guys drive from Courtright to the Dinkey Lakes Trailhead? If you did drive, do you think a Ford Escape can make the drive? 😬 Thank you!

      Hey Christopher. We have hiked in both ways. On this trip we drove in from
      The opposite side to the meadows trailhead west of dinkey lakes. This is a much shorter hike into the lakes but a longer dirt road to the trailhead. The courtright trailhead is an easier drive because it’s paved all the way to the start. But then the hike to the lakes is slightly longer. Both options are great. If you are going to take the dirt road in an escape should have no problem we did it in our Honda Pilot. It really just depends on how tore up the roads are from logging. The ranger station can give you a nice labeled map for navigating in on the logging roads from tamarack.

      Both ways are awesome. I prefer the courtright to dinkey direction, usually far fewer people and if you’re into fishing you can fish your way down. Amazing catch and release fishing

    Did you need a permit for camping in Dinkey Wilderness?

    • @EricBecky
      @EricBecky  3 года назад +2

      Hey Jessica. You do need a permit for overnight trips. They have some you can reserve but a portion of every days permits are saved for “first come first serve”. What’s nice is if they are booked already on the dates of your trip you can call the ranger station 24 hrs before the day you plan to start your hike and reserve one of the first come first serve permits. The ranger station will leave it in a drop box for you outside so on your way to the trailhead you can just swing by and pick up your permit. The station we always use is the one in auburn as it is on the drive to the trailhead for us! Hope that helps let us know if you need anything else

    Dinkey Lakes WILDERNESS. It's a Federal crime to fly a drone in a wilderness designated area.
