    Dholavira is famous for its water harvesting system. Such a great thought by ancestors some 5000 years ago

      It's not white sand. It's dried salt after evaporation of water.

    In comparative terms, Dholavira covers 50 ha but Harappa 150 ha and Rakhigarhi 250 ha. However, the largest site is Mohenjo-daro, which covers 500 ha. In ancient time times, a large part of this city was completely destroyed by massive floods.

    Reminded me of the song - nusrat fateh Ali Khan 😄😇
    Marvelous place but difficult to reach & then wat to do here, even I get attracted to historical places & reach there but frankly speaking without restaurant, 0 development even ur trip becomes tiring 😉

    • @FreeYourImagination
      @FreeYourImagination 2 года назад +1

      You don't have to live there. It's an excursion from near by places. The reason it's a UNESCO site is because of the kind of efficient system of Harappans of Dholavira, developed for conservation, harvesting and storage of water speaks eloquently about their advanced hydraulic engineering, given the state of technology in the third millennium BCE. Although Dholavira is situated on an island called Khadir in the featureless, arid expanse of the Great Rann of Kutch, Bachau taluq, Kutch district, Gujarat, it is a spectacular sight, which reveals the grandeur of the Harappan civilisation from its genesis to death. Among the 2,000 Harappan sites in India, Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan, Dholavira is one among the handful of sites where one can see how the entire course of the Harappan civilisation ran. In other words, you can see at Dholavira, among its stratified debris, the genesis of the Harappan civilisation, its childhood, adolescence, adulthood, old age, decline, and death. It lasted 1,500 years from circa 3000 BCE to circa 1500 BCE, spanning the Early Harappan phase, the Mature Harappan phase, and the late Harappan phase.
      Architecture students from CEPT and other schools in the country are taken for site visits to Dholavira. In fact, the current museum which the IAS officers converted the Dholavira Information Center to a museum to show Parliament that a museum was built, is a sad state of affairs for the archeological value that it holds. Thankfully, the 2020 financial budget has set aside finances for a new modern experiential museum that'll be built soon as the entire site is being developed for tourism as mentioned in the video.

    Most ridiculous video ever. If you are at a Harappan site, you need to explain the structure found there.
    Showing your style and just random talks doesn't work.
    It could be useful for the students.
