This is done using D5 rendering software for architectural visualization. It’s a great 3D render software that saves a ton of time for architects because it helps you achieve the level of detail and realism not available in any other similar software.

I always love watching your video, very informative. How you compare the speed of d5 to lumion to twinmotion for renders and animations. I've played around with Twinmotion and Lumion briefly and found that twinmotion seemed faster than Lumion. I'm just really curious if D5 is really that fast. Also, I have a simple question. After downloading the demo scene in D5, I just can't figure how to open them and where they're located. I imagine that if I'm able to play with the demo scene, I might be able to answer those speed questions myself. Best, jhideout

Amazing update. Just the decals and some library assets that still missing like some bathrooms models and appliances.
Agree, the update is quite good! Probably those are coming soon, they make updates every 2 or 3 months, so it's quite fast the development of this software.
@@NunoSilva3d Yeah. I follow since quite time and the speed of developing the software is really fast. They're in the right way for sure and the rest of the softwares like Lumion or Twinmotion should be really worried about D5.

I think it's a great update, but I have to say, coming from Lumion, I am a bit disappointed with the 3D grass material. It sure is better than nothing though and it'll only get better in future updates. Something to look forward to I guess.
I'm excited to see how Lumion will respond with the release of Lumion 12. They'll definitely have to step up their game to compete with D5.
I agree! The grass probably will get improvements in future versions, with more options like the grass thickness for example. I’m also very curious to what Lumion will come up with for the version 12! :)

Hi! Right now you can only change the height. But as D5 team said, they are working on the scale as well for future updates.

Hi Stella! Currently D5 doesn't have a fur shader, similar to what Lumion has. It's already in their requests, so maybe soon they will integrate it in future versions.

Hi Nuno, i have a question related to your courses: if we want to achieve high quality photorealistic architecture "animations" (not photoshop-enhanced rendered images), for both exterior and interior scenes, which course do you think is right for this: your D5 render course or your Lumion course? Thanks
Note: i personally feel lumion to be a bit fake or lacking light-wise compared to corona render, but i liked the D5 render realistic touch for interiors, but not sure about its exterior potential.. what do you think? D5 capable for exteriors animation?
Hi Dima! I’m actually using both. D5 is really good for interiors and now for exteriors you do have more tools for animation, like the path tools for characters and vehicles for example. Also you have animation for vegetation and weather system, which helps a lot. Lumion on the other hand has more years of developing, and right now has more features, but D5 is really improving quite fast with new releases each 3 months or so. Also, they have a completely free version which includes animation as well. So, I would say it’s really up to you what you think it’s best for your needs. Both my courses have interior, exterior and animation modules. :)

could you help to find my new GPU card? RTX 3060 or RTX 3070 is better for D5? I know the 3070 is a faster card but is this true in D5 render times? The price difference is the same as the render time differenceM I hope you understand my English....:)

I have noticed that there is (or I am wrong?) no option to change automatically/random rotation and scale of vegetation models as for instance in Lumion. Shall I miss something or this this feature has been still not available. This is an essential, I think option for the real-look vegetation presentation.
You do have those options when you use the new path tool for example.
I think this is an opion? if you select all the models you have placed you can click the little pop out that allows for random scale and rotation within the parameters that you set? From memory

I'd love to use D5 but they don't support the file import that I work in. The 3D program that I use doesn't export in the limited files that D5 allows to import.

Yes, you do have a free version, which just doesn't have the Pro models library.

I just updated to 2.0 today. What happened? My models that rendered great in prior versions look horrible now. Lighting is off. Not as sharp. Preview mode has taken a step backwards. So much more noise! Doesn't seem like an upgrade on performance. The UI is ok, but I didn't mind the old UI. I feel like I need to render out to 8k, just to get the quality of the old 4k. Could all be my imagination. What do others say on this? I have a 2070 super. Maybe, I'm missing a setting? I can't seem to find the RTX settings that were in the old version.

Would love to use this for archviz but unfortunately all my assets that I purchase won't just import and work seamlessly inside D5. Vray materials don't just work in D5... If D5 made a vray-D5 material converter i would instantly move here
The Blender plugin exporter translate all materials very well. If you shade in blender and export. Will get great results

I've been using both. They both deliver great results, it really depends on the project I'm working on.
how to make Curtain Sheared(transparent) material in D5 ?
There is no perfect way currently. They are working on it.

I would say it definitely can
Yes D5 results are far better than lumion, specially interior. But it lacks in some if the features like waves in water material, different types of water materials, landscape tool, cut plan tool etc.
I agree with @ahmad Jabbar answer and about the interior results. But the reason for this is that Lumion is still around for more time, so D5 still needs to catch up on some features. But they are developing the software quite fast and listening to the community. So that’s good.
@@NunoSilva3d The page they have showing all requests/planned/in-progress/completed is extremely nice to have.
@@LuminousLabs yes, having an open road development like that helps a lot to understand what we can expect from this software. And again, it's nice they listen to the community and even make polls for new features to add.
Can we import fbx,sketchup file?
Yes, it supports those file extensions.
I still think D5 render has lot of stuff missing, but his growth is good, it'll be a very good engine/visualisation-tool in 2 or 3 years for sure.
The big problem when I converted the file from 3dmax to d5 render all materials messing and I use corona material how I can solve this problem and slo my laptop tampreture is high why?
If you convert them to vray first, you still have issues?

D5 & TWM are Lumion Nightmare

Yes, now you can subscribe monthly or yearly, but you still have the community version, which is free.

Both! For different situations.

the grass tool will end Lumion's career. lol
It still needs some improvements to match Lumion grass tool, but it's on a right track.
This looks a very good render engine to use, but I use Blender and it doesn't look like it can be used with latest versions of Blender. ☹

They had lifetime license available to purchase until now, and they also had a note saying that they would change it by this time. I believe many users bought their lifetime license, it was also a way of supporting their development and believing in the software. :)

When creating materials on D5 Render, do you need to edit all your materials on Photoshop to add alpha channels for clipping or reflection??
Because that is the most stupid thing ever on Lumion. There is nothing more annoying than going against all the industry standard of having materials where each channel is a different bitmap (including being able to set each at different relative sizes), and instead, FORCING the users to recreate all their bitmaps...
No, in D5 Render you have dedicated slots for all the maps.
