I love seeing the NYC Black creative scene thrive! I heard about Telfar a few years ago and got my first bag in 2019, then my next 3 over the course of 2020, prior to and during the George Floyd/BLM movement and Juneteenth (support Black business wave). What I will say is that I’m happy for all the exposure to Black businesses during that time, but people only came to to know Telfar as a bag brand. So anytime he announces other/new products that aren’t the “affordable shopping bag” he gets complaints. Like the audacity of people to be like “okay, we don’t care, we want bags” “where’s the bags???” This is a whole clothing brand WITH many accessories that include a particular bag at a lower price point. Customers get so nasty in the comments, either support or don’t.
They have a bag security program a few times a year and the next one is at the end of this month…takes a few months to get but you have the option to buy any bag. So get your girl the bag!

We should all try to buy at least 1 Black owned product/service monthly. There’s enough great Black brands/companies, and services online/IRL that deserve our monetary love and support.
