I did know that about cheese. A cow produces about 80 litres of milk a day (I looked it up as part of a thought experiment about how many people you'd need drinking tea with milk to use 1 cow's worth of milk) so that's 8 litres of cheese which at a density of 1.078 g/mL would be 8624g of cheese i.e. 8kg which given the price of cheese at tesco (£5.42 per kg) would cost you £46.74 and you know the farmer is getting fuck all of that.

I want to meet this cow. I was part of a cow share (one person owns and raises the cow and we pay to milk it and get to keep the milk). We'd usually milk 2 cows and we would get approximately 20 liters total. Multiply that by 2 since the cows were milked twice a day and that's 40 liters or 20 liters a cow a day (yes I know we were already there, but I'm showing my work). To be fair these were a small home dairy, but I can't imagine a dairy breed giving 4 times that much. And doing some googling, I'm seeing ranges from 20-40 liters a day.
Out of curiosity where did you find 80 liters a day as the amount?

@theBrightman Between 20 - 40 is normal, the average is about 20-25 liters per cow per day. That said 80 is definitely possible for certain individuals although it is rare and very much abnormal. Fidel Castro had a cow called Ubre Blanca that produced almost 110 liters per day (that's the world record btw)
