Thank you. Yes our garlic is looking stunning. We grow over 30 varieties. Most of the newer ones we hope to release in the next few years. As for irrigation, our entire farm is drip irrigated.
Nice question. The worst that can happen is the wrapper leaves rot and you harvest heads with exposed cloves. We had this last year where we were unable to harvest certain fields due to the excessive rains. It’s more cosmetic than bad.

Thank you for the video. Needing advice, i have garlic that i pulled yesterday, there was more than 50% dead leaves and most have either fallen completely over or leaning at a 45degree angle? Problems: not fully matured garlic, and some bulbs were still very small?
It’s pretty hard to diagnose on comments, however if the garlic is dying down and it’s easy to lift as per the video then harvest. It will not get larger once it dies down. Save the biggest for replanting.

Are there any downsides if you wait too long to harvest your garlic? Let's say it stays in the ground 2-3 weeks longer?

Absolutely.
OK thanks, but then what do you do with the garlic once you've pulled them effortlessly out of the ground?
Hang and dry. Takes about 2 weeks and you can then clean for storage, use or sale.

My garlic is starting to flower, what do I do? It is not yet ready to harvest.
Pull the scapes out, garlic does not set seed and all it does is pulls energy away from the bulb.
